‘Family Guy’ cartoon continued its blasphemy of the Christian faith with its ‘Christmas Episode’ – ‘The 2,000 Year Old Virgin.’
In the continuing trend of Hollywood blaspheming the Christian faith, Fox Network’s animated cartoon, ‘The Family Guy’, one of the most vile, perverted television shows in history, aired an episode depicting the Lord and Savior of the world as a modern man who needs assistance finding a woman for fornication. As Beginning and End has detailed, as the world falls deeper into sinful rebellion, Christianity continues to be a target for mockery in pop culture.
According to reports:
Titled, “The 2,000-Year-Old Virgin,” it surrounds character Peter Griffin, among others, trying to help Christ lose his virginity, according to Christian Today.
“After running into Jesus at the Quahog Mall, Peter is stunned to discover that the Son of God is still a virgin,” reads the episode’s synopsis. “So, he enlists Quagmire and Cleveland to help him throw Jesus the best birthday ever by finding a way to help him become a man.”
At one point during the episode, Jesus has a specific request for Peter regarding his wife Lois, telling him that he wants to lose his virginity to her — a request that the husband agrees to in exchange for a massage chair….In the end, though, both Peter and Lois change their mind and decide against the plan after it is revealed that Jesus tricks husbands every year into allowing him to sleep with their wives.” (source).
The Bible And Blasphemy
Whom hast thou reproached and blasphemed? and against whom hast thou exalted thy voice, and lifted up thine eyes on high? even against the Holy One of Israel. – 2 Kings 19:22.
“Do I have that much contempt for Christianity? I guess maybe I do,” [MacFarlane] said. “The Big Bang has got a lot of support, live with it.”“I do not believe in God. I’m an atheist,” he stated in a separate interview. “I consider myself a critical thinker, and it fascinates me that in the 21st century most people still believe in, as George Carlin puts it, ‘the invisible man living in the sky.’” – Seth MacFarlane (source).
Webster’s 1828 dictionary defines blasphemy as: An indignity offered to God in words, writing, or signs; impiously irreverent words or signs addressed to, or used in reference to, God; speaking evil of God; also, the act of claiming the attributes or prerogatives of deity.
One of the most egregious sins in the Bible is blaspheming The name of God:
And he that blasphemeth the name of the LORD, he shall surely be put to death, and all the congregation shall certainly stone him: as well the stranger, as he that is born in the land, when he blasphemeth the name of the Lord, shall be put to death. – Leviticus 24:16.
This is how seriously The Lord takes blasphemy. Mockery and disrespect towards God is one of the most powerful forces in moving the hearts and minds of people away from faith in Jesus Christ and the Bible. If God can be openly disrespected, then certainly the blasphemer has no fear or concern for the message of the Bible – that we are all guilty sinners who have willingly violated God’s law and have His wrath hanging over us. And the punishment for our sin is death and hell. Satan, the ultimate adversary of humanity, does not want people to care about the message of the Gospel or even believe in God. And pop culture entertainment provides a massive weapon for Satan to win over the hearts and mind of society. Jesus Christ described this process of spiritual corruption in the book of Luke:
And when much people were gathered together, and were come to him out of every city, he spake by a parable: A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it. And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture. And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it. And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold. And when he had said these things, he cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. And his disciples asked him, saying, What might this parable be?
And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand. Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved. – Luke 8:4-12.
Shows like Family Guy seek take any love, reverence or belief in God and discard it from your mind. And making mockery like the “2,000 year old Virgin” episode is a perfect example. This of course is not the first time that Family Guy has done this. In a prior episode entitled “I Dream of Jesus”, the show depicts Jesus as foul-mouthed pervert. Other episodes have mocked the term “born again”, shown a dog eating a crucifix and portrayed Jesus Christ as sexual predator.
Family Guy – The Most Perverted Show On Television?
In addition to its blasphemy, Family Guy on a weekly basis promotes all manner of perversion as “fun humor.” This show, which airs at 8PM and has a large child and teenage audience has featured the following:
- Bestiality – the family dog, who is able to speak, repeatedly is put in sexual situations with women. The show also depicts the dog licking the parents, children and even baby character on the show in a sexually provocative manner. In another episode the father starts a sexual relationship with a horse and is shown in bed exclaiming in pleasure from an animal.
- Pedophilia – The character Mike Herbert is an elderly man who openly expresses sexual desire to the child characters on the show often referencing drugging them and bringing them to his cellar.
- Foul Language – The characters on the show repeatedly use words such as “a–“, “douche”, “b—ch” and numerous references to the male phallus. It also uses censored (beeped) profanity on a regular basis.
- Sexual Assault – The assault and abuse of women is frequently referenced and mocked on the show. TIME Magazine referenced this an article about a high school sexual assault trial, in which the accused teens assaulted the drunk young woman in front of dozens of friends who photographed the crime to upload to their social media pages all for fun. The TIME journalist called teenagers today the “Family Guy Generation”, writing:“If rape is too common of a punch line for this generation, we shouldn’t be shocked. After all, these kids were raised on Family Guy…and the constant verbal abuse of the female characters. The series, which has become hugely popular among teen boys and young men, features more rape humor than one could tally, including one scene in which a woman is being assaulted on a beach and screams for help while another character, Aquaman, issues lame threats to the perpetrator without leaving the water. The scene ends when Aquaman gives up, saying: “Well, maybe you shouldn’t have led him on.” Maybe this was brilliant, sophisticated meta-humor in which we’re supposed to see this as a commentary on the pressure men feel to be heroes, but is that really how the show’s prime audience of young men will understand it?” (source).
- Homosexuality – the show depicts gay orgies, threesomes and reinforces MacFarlane’s strong pro-gay views. An episode about trying to “convert” someone from being gay to straight, shows a Christian camp counselor instructing the campers to beat the gay character with a bat until they are straight. (source).
The Bible says:
Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. – Galatians 5:19-21.
In this extensive list of sins notice the first 4 all deal with sexual immorality. Much of entertainment today on television is focused on those four sins, and shows like Family Guy push uncleanness and lasciviousness to the extreme. By presenting it as “cartoon”, it is written off by the media as “lighthearted humor.” What spirit is inspiring such a show?
Hollywood Celebrates Evil
And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God. – Luke 16:15.
To no surprise, Family Guy has been nominated for 13 Emmy awards, winning 5. A 2011 demographic survey found it was the most popular show on television for men aged 18-34 and the third most popular among all people aged 12-34 (source). MacFarlane signed a $100M contract with “conservative” network Fox for his show (in addition to his other show ‘American Dad’ which also airs on Fox). Once you are willing to directly attack the Christian faith, rewards of the world often follow.
Tune Out Family Guy
Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. – James 4:4.
It goes without saying that no Christian should be watching such a vile, blasphemous program such as Family Guy. If you are a Christian and you watch this show, it is time to truly evaluate how seriously you take God’s Word and your own faith. Pray to God for forgiveness for supporting something that is brazenly attacks His Holy Name. And if you are a Christian parent of a child who watches this show (or you do not know if they do), it is time to engage your children in a loving but Biblical manner and make sure they are not being seduced by such blatantly satanic content.
The good news is that for all of his filthy behavior and mockery of the Christian faith, God loves Seth MacFarlane. And all of the millions of people who laugh at the numerous blasphemies on this show each week. Although they like all people, stand guilty and condemned for their sins, God in His love, sent His Son to die for them. The very same Son of God whom Family Guy repeatedly mocks, came to Earth to take the punishment for those very sins. And it only takes faith in Jesus Christ to be forgiven for one’s sins and have eternal life. Christ came as a suffering servant to pay our price. However upon His return, it will be very different:
And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day. – 2 Thessalonians 1:7-10.
This is the Christ that will be awaiting Seth MacFarlane and all people on Judgment Day. And there is nothing funny about this. There will be no mocking, jokes or blasphemy when someone is before the throne of Jesus Christ or at His Second Coming. The Devil does not want people to think about Hell and the Lake of Fire but that does not change its reality. Let us hope and pray that MacFarlane and the many people being deluded into cheering for blasphemy will learn this while they still have time to repent.
I used to think humor was just that. It makes sense to use it as a vehicle to corrupt. Thanks for the heads up.
I’m disturbingly appalled by the filth on TV aimed at our young children.
I guess that’s why I still battle with the decision to have kids. When I see things like this out to corrupt their mindset before even entering the world good, I know it’s going to be a tough job.
It amazes me that Seth McFarlane thinks he has the antidote to Christianity with the Big Bang. Maybe he would be interested to know that one of, if not the major authority on the big bang cosmology in the world, George F R Ellis, is a Christian. Further more wasn’t it scientists with a material world view that scoffed at the Bible’s opening line of “In the beginning…” because they thought the Universe was infinite, without a beginning? That was until the Big Bang theory (itself flawed) came about, showing the Bible to be correct in claiming that there was a beginning. Now they are stuck with the very real problem of a first cause. That isunless you already accept a devine creator.
You guys are taking this thing way too seriously. It is just a tv show aired for entertainment. Ruthlessly attacking a person for expressing themselves doesn’t make you any better than them. Every single human being has been granted the gift of free will and therefore we have been granted to express ourselves in the ways of our choosing. I think it is blasphemous to deny people that freedom and to attack them for simply expressing themselves is cruel and vile. You may disagree with Seth Macfarlane all you want, you may despise his shows or him personally but do not attack his God-granted gift to express himself in the manner he chooses nor attack those who like his shows. We are free to believe in whatever we want be it in the Holy Lord, God, or not. What we choose to believe in is between us individually and God, it is no one else’s concern of what we as individuals choose to believe in. Furthermore I find the countless attacks by christians against people who choose other faiths to be disgraceful and in itself a blaspheme against the Lord. From my understanding, the Lord preaches love, unity, and peace for ALL not simply christians. The Christian faith,to some people, has been perverted and needs a cleansing of its own. And that, I think is one of Seth’s objections and a source of rejection to the Christian faith.
Seth has the God given right to say and do as he pleases. His attacks on Christianity are based on his atheism and nothing more. He believes we are stupid and his above quote says as much, as do his constant jibes. Seth has a world wide audience in which to depart his worldview, he has produced Cosmos whose presenter Neil Degrasse Tyson takes every opportunity to slander both religion and philosophy in public.
Seth has also produced a series of adult cartoons that also take every opportunity to slander religion, and Christianity in particular. It seems he has a big problem with the idea of God to the extent that he makes a large part of his life’s work about insulting those of faith, and God himself.
We have the God ordained right to defend our faith. Seth’s reach is huge, and if you don’t think his cartoons are watched by, and influence children then think again. A huge part of his audience are children and teenagers. The major reason why cartoons are used in this adult context is so they reach children and influence them. It’s no coincidence that nearly all of the adult cartoon shows spend a large amount of time insulting Christ and Christianity, more so than live action shows. That reason is that they reach a much much larger audience, especially children.
We are commanded, as Christians, to protect children from such material. So if we criticise Seth’s work it is for these reasons.
“You guys are taking this thing way too seriously.” Really? The problem with our ‘do what thou wilt” (you may want to look up the owner of that phrase) society is that everything is OK. Promoting bestiality, homosexuality, pedophilia as normal is NOT OK. I don’t care what you call it, black humor, dark comedy, it doesn’t matter it’s all bad. Just like you would not feed your body junk food on a regular basis, why feed your mind the same way. If you need a good conversation starter, go read a book.
Family guy & american dad are cartoons for adults not children.
Aslo well said Tim
Hi ChildofRa,
I am trying to determine what your point is. First off, the show is rated TV-14. A 14 year old is not an adult. Secondly, even if you find it “adult”, you think depicting pedophilia, bestiality and all manner of blasphemy is appropriate and suitable entertainment? -B&E
B&E,
This program contains some material that many parents would find unsuitable for children under 14 years of age.
Programs rated TV-14 may contain some material that parents or adult guardians may find unsuitable for children under the age of 14.
The show is considered black comedy
A black comedy (or dark comedy) is a comic work that employs farce and morbid humor, which, in its simplest form, is humor that makes light of subject matter usually considered taboo. Black humor corresponds to the earlier concept of gallows humor. Black comedy is often controversial due to its subject matter.
Family guy makes comedy outta those taboo subjects becuase its easier for people to swallow. Majority of people usually shun or ignore these things in life and so when a show like family guy makes fun of these subjects it opens your eyes to these taboos.
Family Guy falls under these genres:
Adult animation
Animated sitcom
Shock humor
Black comedy
Off-color humor
Surreal humor
Social satire
Shock humor- it ticks off people but it does its job
Again, I ask – do YOU think that depicting pedophilia, bestiality, repeated rape jokes and blasphemy is suitable entertainment? I know the categories of what the Family Guy show is. I am asking for your personal opinion on its content. And the reason why is that it saddens me to hear the response “well it’s a show for adults” when it’s depicting such vile behavior as if it’s somehow okay and acceptable to be entertained by these things once one is over the age of 14. -B&E
I dont mind it because i know whats out there in the world. I wat h the show with my adult friends and it makes good conversation starters.
Thanks, Childofra, i dont really understand what the big deal is. In my opinion, if you dont like the shows then dont watch them, is my response. I dont see the need for all this controversy over a man who chooses to believe differently than you. Its his life let him believe what he chooses. The persecution he recieves only justifes his beliefs. You pride yourselfs in acting or living the way Jesus advised or taught, but ask yourselves would Jesus approve of your harsh words against a man who simply expresses himself on tv and through his shows? Peace love and forgiveness is what is preached in the bible. Those are also things this world sorley needs.
Hi Tim,
So it’s okay for someone to blaspheme the name of Jesus and call us Christians stupid, but it’s not okay for us to disagree with immature and childlike humor and warn others? It’s not so much an attack but a warning to Christian parents and others about what their kids are watching. Your right, He has every right and freedom of expression to say and draw whatever he wants. But we also have every right to disagree and write an article to warn those of the sinful nature of the show, right? Listen, Jesus told us this was going to happen. And it’s our job to preach the Gospel to all nations (Mark 16:15, Matthew 28:19). Part of teaching the Gospel, is warning those of the sinful world we live in, and to point to the Savior. This has all been foretold, and Jesus is coming back! Are you ready?
If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.
John 15:18 (KJV)
And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
Mark 13:13 (KJV)
He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not
Isaiah 53:3 (KJV)
This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
2 Timothy 3:1-5 (KJV)
Hey B&E,
I wasnt sure where to put this but Happy Holidays
Hi Childofra,
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Happy Holidays to you to Collin ^_^
Hi, Collin
No i don’t think its right to blaspheme the name of Jesus but at the same time i dont think its necessary to say all these horrible things about a person just because he chooses to believe in something different than what you choose to believe. We all have the right to choose what we want to believe in, and we all have our own opinions and tastes when it comes to entertainment. No one choice is right or wrong, its about personal preference. I like family guy though i didnt care for this episode. I think Seth Macfarlane is smart creative funny i look past his athiesm and see him to be a prominent entertainer. When Jesus returns many athiests will bend their knees to him. Its no one elses concern, its between them and God.
Hi Tim,
What horrible things were said about Seth McFarlane? I read nothing in this article that was a personal attack. Am I missing something? In fact, the last couple paragraphs are about how, despite Seth’s outright blasphemy, that God still loves him and all the people who support family guy. He still has a chance at eternal life through Jesus Christ! Wow, if that’s not love, what is? That’s the difference between us believers and non-believers. Despite all the filthy offensive anti Christian humor, I still pray for Seth, pray that God will soften his heart and open his eyes to the truth so he can be saved from his sin. Do you think he feels bad about the way he makes Christians feel when he goes home at the end of the day? Probably not. I’m sure he spends a lot of time thinking of how else he can blaspheme the Christian faith. I pray for him out of love. He does what he does out of hate! You might call it something other than hate, but anytime you single out a group of people with the intent to trash talk and poke fun at, I call it pure unadulterated hate. Regardless of what you or Seth McFarlane believe, Jesus is coming back, and it will be o’ so glorious! I hope your ready brother. Family Guy will not get you ready for Jesus’ return. I’m praying for you too bro!
“We all have the right to choose what we want to believe in…No one choice is right or wrong,” – Tell the people who died in 9/11 that statement. Hitler believed in creating a perfect race.
Unfortunately Tim, you have a rudimentary understanding of world religion and Christianity specifically. Jesus was a man of peace and love, but he is also a warrior (revelations) and judge. It’s best to be certain on what you truly ‘believe’.
“No one choice is right or wrong, its about personal preference.”
Ah, there’s that “moral relativism” logic so pervasive in our society now. Sorry, but right and wrong ARE objective and the only thing you said that’s correct is the fact that people have the right to exercise their own free will. However, there IS consequence to these decisions. You nor anyone can escape it, though the enemies of truth think they can/will.
The begining of wisdom is fear of the lord.My brother,Colin seeks to spare those of you without wisdom an eternity of torment…I have on many occasions witnessed the demonic during devil worshiping and witchcraft.I’ve seen curtains flying to the ceiling and during ritual and have felt demonic power within my body.I’ve had a demon wake my wife and I at 2am with a loud slap above my face on a day in which I read scripture out load.I’ve woken up with the whispered word”die”.etc…My friends, life is short and seek not the things of the world and favor of the worldly and all will be lost at death but not your soul, let that be your focus.Family Guy,2 and ahalf men,how I met your mother, Big Bang theory etc… if you only knew how terrible these messages are to you that watch these things. If you could see it for the utter filth it is,you would be blessed.
sorry I see your name is Collin not Colin sorry about the misspell and I’m glad you inspired to perhaps reach the spiritually blind
sorry I see your name is Collin not Colin sorry about the misspell and I’m glad you inspired me to write this.My life has been a spiritual battle but I have been blessed with proof of my faith and would like to save someone not blessed or focused on who they should fear…God. These shows could only hurt us everyone who views this Godless filth…take heed before it’s too late
I’m a Christian, so of course I agree that this is disgusting. But you do realize that posts like this play right into the hands of the people who make shows like “Family Guy”, right? They get a kick out of your indignation.
Hi Odgie,
Thanks for your response. However, I am not sure what you mean about “playing right into the hands…” I would like to respond with Scripture:
Do you believe this verse? God bless. -B&E
I certainly do believe the verse and I share your belief that there is nothing funny about blasphemy. I commend the passion displayed in this post. That said, the people who produce shows like “Family Guy” don’t share our beliefs, and responding to them at all only encourages them to sink to new lows. They do things like this to offend. And when we show our offense, it rewards their behavior (at least in their eyes).
It may sound like I am advocating passivity. On the contrary, I am advocating investing our time and energy where they will most likely bear fruit. I bounced around your blog a little bit and noticed that you write quite a bit about Scripture, theology, current events from a Christian viewpoint, etc. This is all good stuff and a worthy time investment. But I am skeptical that fuming against “entertainment”, no matter how odious it might be, is going to have any effect. When we make disciples, they will develop the judgement ton their own to avoid trash like “Family Guy” altogether any way.
Blessings on you as well.
Hi Odgie,
You said,

So what are you saying exactly? That the Gospel shouldn’t be preached to those in the entertainment industry because it’s not powerful enough to bring someone like Seth Mcfarlane to repentance? I get our point to an extent, but however useless it might seem, people who watch Family Guy and those responsible for making the show, need the Gospel bad! Even if B&E spends 10 years writing blogs and articles pointing out the sinful nature of shows like this, among other things, and only one person gets saved and repents, wasn’t it all worthwhile? Isn’t that worth investing time into? I believe it is. Remember what Jesus says in Luke chapter 15?
Then drew near unto him all the publicans and sinners for to hear him.
And the Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, This man receiveth sinners, and eateth with them.
And he spake this parable unto them, saying,
What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?
And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing.
And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.
I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.
Luke 15:1-7 (KJV)
You see, all this time invested has a real chance of saving at least one sinner. Wow, the power of the Gospel is sooooo good. And as you read in verse 7 above, heaven rejoices over that, right? That’s the best fruit you can produce my brother. Amen and Amen! Love you brother.
Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.
Luke 15:10 (KJV)
Hi Odgie,
Thanks for replying. I would like to address your comments. You said:
God said:
It is The Word that has the power of God. It is The Word that has the power to pierce the heart and soul of men and show us our guilt, bringing us to repentance. It is The Word that has the power of salvation and overcoming death. If you believe Romans 1:16, then you should believe that even the mighty Seth MacFarlane can be moved, humbled and transformed by God’s Word. Your comments seem to presume he is “too far gone” or would “never take God’s Word seriously” or something to that effect. I beg to differ. God’s Word brings murderers to their knees in worship. It brings prostitutes to weep at the feet of Jesus. It brings Kings to cry out to their Creator for help in their darkest times. So I say, do understimate God’s Words. When this ministry is writing about entertainers, movies, etc., do not presume that it is a fair fight. We are giving The Word of God, not the ideas of men.
Seth MacFarlane needs to hear the Gospel in the midst of his rebellion. Read the book of Jeremiah. God told Jeremiah in advance that the people would not listen to his preaching. Did Jerermiah fail? Noah was a preacher of righteousness yet no one joined him on the ark aside from his three sons and their wives. Did he fail? Was he not investing his time properly? Of course not. They were both faithful servants of The Lord obeying His WORD.
Even when the Bible is “out of season”, we are to continue preaching. And we are to do it with “all longsuffering”, meaning we should be prepared for people we preach to continue to mock, ridicule and ignore us. Scripture tells us this in advance. It is not an easy road, but it is what The Lord commands.
So I humbly suggest that rather than being “skeptical” you put your faith in God’s power.
With respect, please allow me to get back to my original point, that many here are taking these shows too seriously. These are not insidious attempts to corrupt youth or to promote atheism, they are just cartoons targeted towards a more adult audience. They are designed for entertainment. Sure they reflect upon the creator’s beliefs and viewpoints, because the show is an extension of himself in many ways I think. I like Family Guy because it is edgy, it is critical and satirical, its aimed at getting a response be it from the government or from fans or critics. Its supposed to stir the pot, that’s the point. If the pot isn’t stirred from time to time a layer of scum develops on the top. Family Guy doesn’t only target Christianity, it targets a lot of the current issues. They have tackled radical Islam, homosexuality, big corporations running amok, even anarchy on the show, If you don’t like the show and don’t want your children to watch then simply don’t watch the show and tell your children not to watch the show either. Don’t call it some big bad piece of filth because it isnt. Who are any of you to judge Seth Macfarlane or his beliefs? Who gave you the authority? Who set you above him? What right do you have to try to take away his freedom of expression? There is only ONE judge, “Judge not lest ye be judged.” Seth’s shows arent an attack against Christianity or a blaspheme, they’re one guy expressing himself be it in a more public manor that reaches many people. Jesus Himself once did the same thing, expressed Himself publicly, and tried to reach people. And His self expression was viewed in a similar way that you all view Seth Macfarlane’s self expression and look what happened. Do you want to put Seth Macfarlane through what Jesus went through? Come on, people. There are so many things dividing us, we’re all human we all live on the same planet, breathe the same air. Why do we let these petty little differences separate us? Why can’t we all accept one another and live in peace? Don’t judge Seth Macfarlane because of his tv shows or his own personal beliefs thats none of your business anyways. Its between him and God.
Hi Tim,
You said,
Who are any of you to judge Seth Macfarlane or his beliefs? Who gave you the authority? Who set you above him? What right do you have to try to take away his freedom of expression? There is only ONE judge, “Judge not lest ye be judged.”
First of all, nobody is trying to take away his freedom of expression. As I have said before, he has every right to do what he pleases. But for some reason, you seem to think we shouldn’t have the same freedom of expression, right? Just as he has every right to do what he wants, so do we have every right to do as we please. This article merely points out the sinful nature of the cartoon to show the rebellious nature of peoples hearts and minds towards God. The reason is, Jesus told us that the days of the coming of the Son of Man will be like the days of Noah (Matthew 24:37, Luke 17:26). What were people like in the days of Noah you might ask? The thoughts of their hearts were only evil continually (Genesis 6:5). This is why we do this, to point people to the only true way of grace and salvation, Jesus Christ! Because the time is at hand (Revelation 1:3).
Secondly, let’s talk about judging, and the one scripture you used from Matthew.
Judge not, that ye be not judged.
2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
4Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?
5Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.
Matthew 7:1-5 (KJV)
Matthew 7:1 is the most used quoted and commonly misinterpreted Bible passages when it comes to “judging others”.This is one of the most quoted verses in the Bible, usually in a context something like this: “Yeah, he cheated on his wife, but who am I to judge? Hey, we’re all sinners, right? Like Jesus said, ‘Judge not, lest you be judged,’” or “Don’t judge me. If you were really a Christian you’d listen to Jesus when he said, ‘judge not.’” . This verse is often used in order to defend against any declaration that a given person’s behavior is wrong (quite often used by the person in question). Effectively, when quoted as such, the verse is understood as a prohibition against declaring any specific action sinful or wrong, since doing so would mean “judging” someone.Despite how it appears if one stops reading after the first verse, Jesus is not forbidding judgment but hypocrisy. Yet again, we find that a text without a context is a pretext, the primary exegetical fault leading to misinterpretation is neglecting to read closely the surrounding section of a key verse. In summary, in this passage Jesus warns of the human tendency to judge based on our own faults and flaws. This warning is one that should be considered before any assumption about another’s behavior or intentions. Instead, the passage asserts that we should always examine ourselves first to see if the splinter we see is actually affixed to our own eye, and only if our eye is clean can we trust our judgment enough to begin the process of helping remove the offense from anyone else. In other words, I shouldn’t judge an alcoholic about drinking too much if I’m also an alcoholic. This is an incredibly important point, both emphasizing the importance of good judgment and the steps necessary to acquire it.
Listen brother, I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again. Jesus is almost here! We are living in the last of the last days. Stop defending others and justifying those who sin, simply for the fact that “they have the right to freedom of expression”, that’s a bad excuse. Start focusing on your own heart. Get right with the Lord. I used to do the same thing. I was all about the First amendment and freedom for everybody. Then when I found Christ, I quickly realized that the freedom I thought I had was false. I was only living for the dot (life on earth) and not for the line that follows (eternity). True freedom is in Christ, where His Spirit is there is liberty (2 Corinthians 3:17). B&E and other Christians do this because we love Seth McFarlane and those who watch this show. We want nothing more than to see y’all in Heaven! All I’m saying, is get ready, because if your not in Christ………….
Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.
Mark 8:38 (KJV)
And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
Revelation 20:14-15 (KJV)
And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
Revelation 22:12-13 (KJV)
Hi, Collin
Please don’t misunderstand me, I’m not trying to take away anything from anyone. It’s just that a lot of people here are looking at this issue in the wrong way, IMO. I’m simply voicing my opinion and standing up for what I think to be right. IMO, this issue. the so-called attacks against Christianity, perpetrated by Seth Macfarlane aren’t attacks at all. This is just his voicing of his opinions and perhaps pushing the envelope a little to elicit a response. I think Seth gets a thrill from the kinds of responses he gets. People over-reacting to his shows and misinterpreting the meaning behind the episodes. If you don’t like family guy or shows like it then simply don’t watch them. You are not forced to watch them, I agree that every individual has the right to defend themselves and their beliefs, but within reason. I think there is too much anger and violence in the history of religion and belief. We should have more peaceful ways of settling our differences.
I’m not much of a Bible reader, it’s a hard book for me to read. So I don;t know any passages and I don’t think that the bible should be used as a rule book anyways. Not saying that anyone here uses it as a rulebook, but I think it’s too easy to mistake the meanings and the context behind the passages, too easy to misinterpret what is being said.
My main point is that so many people here judge Seth too harshly and for what? He makes a cartoon that they disagree with. So what? What’s the big deal? Why all this negativity over a cartoon show aimed for adults and is created for entertainment? That’s all I’m saying. Aren’t there larger concerns these days? We really need to waste time and energy bickering like school children over a cartoon? Give me a break. Some people are just too sensitive and they over react to every little thing. Why not just let bygons be bygons and get over it already? We, as a whole, have much more pressing matters at hand with the current political and economical crises that are going around. I think some people should acknowledge that Seth may be misguided and forgive him for his transgressions and let that be the end of this. I don’t believe Seth to be a bad person just because he chooses to live the way he does or believe what he believes, Ive watched many videos and at least when the camera is on him, he seems like a pretty stand up guy to me. Anyways, hope this clarifies my points and what I’ve been trying to say. I apologize if I put any words in your mouth or if I misinterpreted your responses. Anyhow, have a wonderful and blessed day, Collin and other posters.
Hi Tim,
You said,

Well here’s your problem. If you understood the scriptures, you would see why Christians are concerned with modern society. We do this because we love you! Trust me, if I didn’t love you, I wouldn’t give you the gospel. It shouldn’t be used as a rule book? Really? Then maybe you should examine why our government based about 70% of man’s law on God’s law. Hmmmmmmm. As George Washington quoted.
“It is impossible to rightly govern the world without God and the Bible”
You said,

Again, your living for the dot (life on Earth) and not the line that follows (Eternity). Every thing your worried about here on Earth is so irrelevant compared to eternity. Everyone, regardless of what you believe, is going to spend eternity somewhere. It’ s up to you, where that is. And it’s up to Christians like myself to show people the love of Jesus Christ, so that we all have a chance at eternal life. Read the scriptures! Find out who Jesus is for yourself! Trust me brother, you won’t regret it.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 3:16 (KJV)
Hi Collin,
You have to admit that the Bible is very open to misinterpretation and could possibly give readers the wrong message. It is in that regards that I said that I think the Bible shouldn’t be used as a rule book. I look at the Bible as more akin to guidelines anyways. Not telling you HOW to live but giving suggestions about living. Are you not concerned with the current events of the world that you disregard them completely? Your life, the lives of your family/friends may very well be at risk. And are you not concerned with the environmental issues we have? If we humans aren’t careful, we could very well destroy the planet in our lifetime. In fact, thats probably underway right now, humanity is killing the Earth as we speak. With the constant flow of sludge and waste into our oceans rivers and lakes. and the toxic chemicals we release into the air not to mention the chemtrails. These may be Earthly issues, but that is where we live, on Earth. True, I am thinking of the NOW because that is where I am, the here and now. I don’t know what’s going to come in the end, I don’t think anyone on Earth can know for 100% certainty. You may think you know, but I’m sure deep down, as strong as your beliefs may be, you may still see the unknown for what it is, the unknown. There is no way to know for sure what happens after this life ends. It is all speculation at this point, regardless of personal feelings or beliefs. You may think Jesus is coming back and soon, you may even believe that when your time comes you will go to Heaven and live with Him there. There is no way to know for certain during this life time unless you have had actual contact with the Divine. Such things are difficult to prove, people tend to take feelings and emotions at face value and create possible reasons that seem right in their eyes. Do you have any thoughts that everything you believe could be just a plot written by man to encourage men in ancient times to follow a certain way of life? Have you considered that Christianity was just a tool of indoctrination used by kings in days long past? Have you considered anything as being as possible as your beliefs? I have considered many things, I have considered so many things I don’t know what to consider. I think your beliefs may be right, but also may not be. Just food for thought.
Hi Tim,

Open to misinterpretation? How so? The Bible means what it says, and says what it means. When It says, “whosoever believes in Me shall not perish but have everlasting life”, how do you misinterpret that? Non believers always assume that the Bible is a long list of rules that they can’t or don’t want to follow. Jesus gives us only two! Love God with all you heart, mind, body and soul, and love your neighbor as you would love yourself (Luke 10:27, Matthew 22:37-39). It’s very simple actually. Yes indeed it tells you how to live. Love God, and love everybody else! Love is the fulfillment of the law (Romans 13:10, Galatians 5:14)
You said,
Are you not concerned with the current events of the world that you disregard them completely? Your life, the lives of your family/friends may very well be at risk. And are you not concerned with the environmental issues we have?
I’m concerned that we’re falling far from God. Jesus tells us plainly, that these bad current events you speak of are going to happen. This is why it’s important to tell people, and spread the gospel. No matter how much you care about the world, or how much you do to try and fix it, it’s not going to happen! These things Jesus talks are coming, and there’s nothing you can do to stop it. it’s predetermined, and inevitable. Please read this passage from the book of Matthew. Jesus is explaining to the disciples about the end times.
4And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.
9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake.
Matthew 24:4-9 (KJV)
You asked if I cared about the lives of my family/friends? Dude, have you not been listening to me this entire time? This is why I preach the gospel. Because I care very much about my family and friends, and even complete strangers like you! Jesus Christ is the only way to escape sin, this fallen world, and the dangers coming to the earth. Yes of course, the Earth is being destroyed, but it’s not that I don’t care, it’s just that it has to happen, and the only way to truly help is to point people to the Savior of the world, Jesus Christ!
You said,
You may think Jesus is coming back and soon, you may even believe that when your time comes you will go to Heaven and live with Him there. There is no way to know for certain during this life time unless you have had actual contact with the Divine.
Ok, yes I know 100% that Jesus is coming back. Let me ask you this. Are you married? If so, how do you know your wife exists. You see her everyday, you talk to her everyday. Maybe she saved your life when you met her? Your in love with her, and her with you. This is how I know God exists. I have seen His providential power work in my life personally. Or as you call, “the divine”. He saved me and I fell in love. I talk to Him every day, the Holy Spirit talks to me and guides me. I see Him every day in creation. Go outside and look around. This wonderful existence we live in, absolutely screams creation! You can’t have creation without a Creator. And because of this, God has written on our hearts from the beginning of time that He exists and that our morals come from Him. Please read this passage from the book of Romans. And then another one from the book of Hebrews.
1For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse.
Romans 1:20
16This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;
Hebrews 10:16 (KJV)
As you read there in Romans, we have no excuse to not believe in God. He has clearly shown Himself in creation. And the moral absolutes we have, clearly come from Him as well. For instance, do you think murder is wrong? Stealing? Blasphemy? Idolatry? Lying? Adultery? I’m assuming you think all these are wrong. And that’s how I know you were created in His image. All the things He thinks are wrong, you do as well. He has written on your heart, His moral conduct. So, Tim, tell me what now? You can believe whatever you want. God gave us free will. But He loves you so much that He died for you. Took your punishment for sin on the cross (1 Peter 2:24). He defeated the fear of death on that very day 2,000 plus years ago (Hebrews 2:14). And now is sitting in glory on the throne of Heaven (Mark16:19), looking down on you, wanting nothing more than your love. Wow! That’s a great God! We love Him because He first loved us (1 John 4:19). Listen Tim, this is for real. There is nothing more real than the Love of God. Seek after things above, not for things on this Earth. Jesus is waiting for you, I pray that I see you there brother.
1If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
Colossians 3:1-4 (KJV)
“These are not insidious attempts to corrupt youth or to promote atheism, they are just cartoons targeted towards a more adult audience.” Tim, Tim, Tim….I have some high quality swamp land in Florida for sale at a fabulous price…just for you.
I got tired of family guy a LONG time ago due to everything that this article mentioned. Thing is, I didn’t even know macfarlane was an atheist. Didn’t care to research it. ALL I KNOW is that when I realized what the show was producing, it disgusted me.
It was last week that I turned on netflix and searched family guy because it has been so long since I watched it. The first thing that I saw was THAT episode “2000 year old virgin”. And I immediately said nope, not going to watch it. The level of BLASPHEME against Christ is ridiculous. Not to mention the “bird is the word” episode. Made me sick.
Collin,
You asked if I was married, I am not. I have yet to meet the right woman and to be honest, as I feel honesty in all things is important especially being honest with yourself, that I am in no hurry as I don’t think that I could bear dragging a woman to where I am at this time. I want to wait until I could lift her up to start looking. I am only a man, and can only do what a lowly man like myself can. I don’t know much about spirituality, or religion, I have been taught all my life to think of all things with a careful mind and to set aside feelings in favor of logic, this is not been for ill, but to protect myself against trickery. You can understand that, cant you? I have been duped many times because I have been too trusting too open, I do not regret that or hold anything against those who have duped me, I just want to protect myself and the people I care about from being duped again. I seek not to scorn or dissuade anything, all I have been asking for is rational thought and logical conversation about things that transcend rationalization and logic. Things that I don’t understand and things that I’m not sure I can understand.
My concerns are of the Earth because that’s all that I know, it’s what I see every day and hear about. I know nothing else, I try to read the bible but for some reason I just can’t do it for more than a few minutes. Then go long periods of time without reading. I don’t think reading the bible is something to be forced upon anyone, we should all do it in our time, or in His. I called it the “divine” because it has been said that Jesus was divine and we hear all the time of “Divine influence”. Plus I am a big fan of video games and one of the best series is The Elder Scrolls series and in that game universe, there are 9 Divines(gods in TES 4 Oblivion, 8 in Skyrim). It is one of my favorite series of video games and has great stories. So that’s where I got that from.
Quite frankly, I don’t know what to believe. Look at human history and you can see what has been done on behalf of “beliefs” before. And what continues to be done to this day.
Hi Tyler or Tim,
Not sure who I’m talking to now. I thought your name was Tim, but now I see it’s Tyler. Either way.
You said,
I don’t know much about spirituality, or religion, I have been taught all my life to think of all things with a careful mind and to set aside feelings in favor of logic, this is not been for ill, but to protect myself against trickery. You can understand that, cant you?
Yes , of course I can understand that. You said you’ve been taught to be careful and set aside feelings in favor of logic, right? I’ll say it again. Go outside and look at the trees, the flowers, birds, animals, look at the complexity of the human body. Look at the way our solar system is setup. It’s set up just perfectly for life to thrive. Do you see that as a coincidence? Do you believe all of what you see came from nothing? That there isn’t any intelligent design? To me, that is not logic. Any mainstream scientist will tell you, that you can’t make anything from nothing. You can’t have a painting without a painter, or a building without a builder. Just like you can’t have creation without a Creator. By not focusing your heart on that Creator, you are indeed being tricked. The one thing you said your guarding yourself against. Ironic? That’s what satan does. He tricks, and deceives to make you think there is no God. Think about this. Take a wrist watch, and take it completely apart piece by piece. Then put the pieces in a Ziploc bag and shake it up. What are the chances that all the pieces will end up back into a working wristwatch? Zero chance? So is it logical to believe that’s how the universe came into existence? I’m not saying you believe in the Big Bang theory, but most people who don’t believe in God tend to think it’s a possibility. The only thing that can explain our existence is Intelligent Design. Once you come to this conclusion, it’s up to you to figure out who that Intelligent Designer is. And the God of the Bible has revealed himself to me through Providential Power and Grace. But not just me. Christ (The Creator) has revealed Himself to all of mankind through His finished work on the Cross. That’s how I know the Bible is real. Not only is it historically accurate, but God will reveal Himself to you just like the Bible says He will if you give Him a chance. The Bible says He is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). The Bible also says He cannot lie (Numbers 23:19, Hebrews 6:18, Titus 1:2). Do you believe that? Dude, God loves you so much. I’m going to ask you to read some of these scriptures I’ve posted. Just try, don’t be scared. You said that you couldn’t bear dragging a woman down to where your at in your life right now. Jesus will meet you right where you are and trust me when I say, He has more than enough strength to lift you up brother (James 4:8, 2 Corinthians 12:9-10). You also said that your just a man, and can only do what a lowly man like yourself can. With God, nothing is impossible (Matthew 19:26, Luke 1:37). You wouldn’t be on this website or talking to me if God wasn’t still working on your heart, I truly believe that. Your here for a reason, and I believe that you do want to know who God is. Seek Him and you will find Him. Knock and the door will be opened. I’m praying for you. Please read all these scripture I’ve posted, give Jesus a chance, you won’t be disappointed.
13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.
Jeremiah 29:13 (KJV)
7Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
Matthew 7:7-8 (KJV)
Thank you my brother, for your faith, love and patience. It is a worthy thing you do and I know Jesus is smiling warmly in your direction. Through Christ our victory is assured. God Bless you and Tim/Tyler as well…it is no accident that he found himself on this website.
Hi Collin,
If you’re ever around the southwestern parts of the United States, I’d like to shake your hand and buy you a beer. I appreciate the time you’ve spent with me discussing these issues, and I thank you for all you have said. You say that you’re just trying to do God’s work by spreading His word, I respect that and respect the fact that you’ve taken the initiative. Frankly. I don’t know any scriptures and the ones I read I tend to forget soon anyways. And it makes sense that there had to have been some sort of creator to create all the things, not just on Earth, but in the universe. I like science too, I think that some of the theories and discoveries are pretty cool and can help people. Like stem cell research, for example. The implications of it aren’t yet known but I think that with further study, it’s something that may yield many positive ways to help people or to cure illnesses or disease. We don’t know until we research and see, and that’s if big business doesn’t interfere with their money and politicians preventing many many plausible research projects from being done. One thing that keeps me from jumping into this thing ASAP is that there is so much corruption, so much violence, so much….. wickedness(for lack of a better term) going on, that I just can’t see why it is happening. So much suffering and death, if Jesus really was out there looking on and watching, don’t you think that he would step in and stop it? Saving those who are in pain every day or are hungry or abused or sick and dying. Especially children who have been born with these horrible diseases, Why is this happening? Throw me a bone here, cant you? If I could stop it, I would. I would right all the wrongs if I could.
Hi Tyler,
You said,
If you’re ever around the southwestern parts of the United States, I’d like to shake your hand and buy you a beer.
Thanks, but I don’t drink. I used to be an alcoholic. One of the many thing Jesus saved me from. But I do appreciate the gesture.
You said,

Your right, there is a lot of pain and suffering out there. And Jesus steps in and stops it all the time. I’m just one example, but I see Jesus healing people every day. There’s a lot of wickedness all around us, those wicked ones are the ones who need Jesus. If we all knew Jesus, trust me, the world would be a much better place. Again, as far as death is concerned, if your in Christ, the fear of death should no longer exist. As a Christian, I know Jesus keeps His promises. When I leave this Earth, I know exactly where I’m going, and I can’t wait! Yes, children are diagnosed with all kinds of different diseases everyday. And Jesus heals some of those children everyday. Back in His time, A lot of people were sick and/or lame. And He spent most of His ministry healing those people, and so did His disciples after He left. I still see people get really sick these days, and give all of the cares and worries to the Lord, and wow has He come through. Jesus tells us multiple times, that it is our Faith that heals us (Matthew 9:22, Mark 5:34, Mark 10:52, Luke 7:50). God has always been in charge, watching and guiding human history. But in the end, we do have free will. That free will, when not used for good, can make things bad very quickly. Your so convinced that the world, and our land needs restoring and help, and I agree. Do you know what the Bible says about that? Please read!
14If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
2Chronicles 7:14 (KJV)
See what it says, turn to the Lord. Ask for forgiveness, repent, and trust God and He will restore our land. That’s the true answer to your problems that you see in the world. No man is strong enough to save the world. But people seem to forget that Christ Jesus already saved the world! The prayer of faith will save the sick (James 5:15). Dude, I’ve been throwing you massive bones since we started this conversation. There’s only one answer to all your questions…… Jesus Christ! God in the flesh (1 Timothy 3:16).
I want you to listen to this song. Just close your eyes and concentrate on Jesus. Love you brother!
Hi Collin
Thanks for the video though I am by no means a fan of Christian music, I do, however, respect the message that the song sends. I’m more of a rock/hard rock kinda guy, zz top, Def Leppard, AC/DC to name a few groups I like. The Bible says that God created the heavens and the Earth, do you think it is possible that there is life on more than one planet? If God created all things, He created science too, right? Do you think it is possible for science and religion to coincide? What do you think about aliens? Do you think they already exist among us? The universe is so vast, and mankind has barely begun to explore tiny pieces of it. There are quadrillions of planets, solar systems, galaxies in the universe, it would seem illogical to think that only one planet in all of creation is capable of supporting/has existing life, don’t you think? I think science has multiple points, and has shown the light on many questions humans are just beginning to grasp.
How did the universe begin? Where are our true origins? Why are the laws of physics the way they are and not some other way? How is life capable to exist on Earth? What awaits us down the road? What new technologies will be created? Then there are the big ones such as “What is the meaning of life?” and “Why do we exist?” I say this, not because I judge or think you’re wrong, I’m simply trying to show you a differentiating viewpoint. A question a person may ask is “How did the universe really begin? Did God simply snap his fingers and *poof*, there it was?”Another is “If God really is the creator, who created Him?” and also “has He always been? Has he no origins of His own?” Important questions that reflect upon many peoples opinions on this clearly sensitive matter. Don’t get me wrong, I have family who are strong believers in Christ and I’ve always loved them and even joined them at their church on multiple occasions. But church has never really done it for me, I’ve tried multiple times in multiple places. And the only thing I’ve felt is boredom, and feeling that I was wasting my time. I do, at least think, that I want to believe. I’ve always had great respect for God and Jesus, I know more than that is required but I’ve always liked what they stood for and I’ve always wanted to do good. But at the same time, I just can’t seem to grasp much of this religious stuff. I think I may be too inquisitive and I don’t really see that as a weakness. But enough about me, Where do you see the world in the next 5 years? What do you see happening?
Hi Tyler,
You said,
The Bible says that God created the heavens and the Earth, do you think it is possible that there is life on more than one planet? What do you think about aliens? Do you think they already exist among us? The universe is so vast, and mankind has barely begun to explore tiny pieces of it. There are quadrillions of planets, solar systems, galaxies in the universe, it would seem illogical to think that only one planet in all of creation is capable of supporting/has existing life, don’t you think?
I think it’s definitely possible. But if life does exist on other planets, does that prove God and the Bible are wrong? Absolutely not. However when it comes to aliens, I believe a lot of the so called “extra-terrestrial” contact people claim to have is more demonic in nature. I firmly believe that there are beings outside this earth, but I believe they are angelic and demonic beings more than extra terrestrial. I’ve heard of these Reptilian beings that people talk about that are apparently running things behind the scenes. I do believe these beings are real, but there is no doubt they are demons. The Bible makes it very clear that satan is a snake, or dragon. If these are spawns of satan, than it would make sense that they’re reptilian.
You said,
If God created all things, He created science too, right? Do you think it is possible for science and religion to coincide?
Absolutely! In fact, I think the more science figures out, the more it points to an Intelligent Designer of the universe. Look at the way our bodies are made, so many trillions of atoms and molecules working together in perfect harmony so we can exist. Wow! Again, it screams Intelligent Design. I think biology in itself proves that there is a God. Archeology can prove the historicity of Biblical accounts. I think God gave us science along with many other things to show us His handy work.

All of these questions can be answered with the Word. But if you never read it, then your only going to continue to wonder and ask, who? What? When? Where? Why? And how?
How did the universe begin?
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
Genesis 1:1 (KJV)
Where are our true origins?
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
Genesis 1:27 (KJV)
And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. (This is where our consciousness came from)
Genesis 2:7 (KJV)
Why are the laws of physics the way they are and not some other way?
7Canst thou by searching find out God? canst thou find out the Almighty unto perfection?
8 It is as high as heaven; what canst thou do? deeper than hell; what canst thou know?
9 The measure thereof is longer than the earth, and broader than the sea.
Job 11:7-9
Our universe is perfect for us to exist because we have a perfect God! Amen! This truth that the laws of physics are the way they are for us to exist should prove to you that there is a God.
What is the meaning of life?” and “Why do we exist?”
This question will obviously have a different answer for different non-believers. For a Christian, well it’s easy.
And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
Matthew 24:14 (KJV)
And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
Mark 16:15 (KJV)
Our job and purpose is simple. Spread the Good news, that Christ has risen! Further the Kingdom of God. That’s it. Once you find God, you want nothing more than to spread it!
If God really is the creator, who created Him?” and also “has He always been? Has he no origins of His own?”
Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.
Psalm 90:2 (KJV)
I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me:
Isaiah 45:5 (KJV)
God has always been. From the Beginning to the End! Alpha and Omega.
1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
John 1:1-2 (KJV)
14And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
15 John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me.
John 1:14-15 (KJV)
Hi Collin,
I saw your post to Tyler
You said,
“Absolutely! In fact, I think the more science figures out, the more it points to an Intelligent Designer of the universe.”
The bible states the god created man and woman in the garden of eden which would be around the middle east and those two had cain and abel and of course populated the earth. However science says that the first man and woman was in africa and from there groups of african people spread to different parts of the world thus populating it. Now the bible and science dont agree on the first man and woman
Also the part about the aliens, from what I know about extraterrestrials, they are two different races of aliens, the greys and the reptilians.
The greys:
The Greys are probably the most known alien species because of how often they visit Earth. They are responsible for most of the abduction cases in the world and many of the alien implants.
The Grays are a humanoid alien race from the Zeta Reticuli 1 & 2 star system that have large dark eyes, long fingers and extremities, and are telepathic.
There are two different types of Grey aliens visiting Earth. The tall Greys which are the ones in control, and the smaller worker Greys which are the ones that end up doing most of the grunt work when people are abducted.
Reptilians:
Large scaly aliens The Reptilians or otherwise called Reptoids are one of the most dangerous of the Alien Races visiting Earth because of their complete lack of respect for the human race (and other alien races for that matter). They are large topping off at almost 9 feet high and are extremely mean.
They are a warmongering species that have their claws deep within our society and are believed to be in control of many world leaders in order to obtain their reptilian agenda which, in close years to come, we will see just how bad it really is.
They are an intelligent alien race that can communicate both verbally as well as telekinetically and will once again run the Earth with us as their slaves
Demons:
A demon, daemon, or fiend is a supernatural, often malevolent being prevalent in religion, occultism, literature, fiction, mythology and folklore.
The Ancient Greek word δαίμων daimōn denotes a spirit or divine power, much like the Latin genius or numen. Daimōn most likely came from the Greek verb daiesthai (to divide, distribute).[3] The Greek conception of a daimōns notably appears in the works of Plato, where it describes the divine inspiration of Socrates. To distinguish the classical Greek concept from its later Christian interpretation, the former is anglicized as either daemon or daimon rather than demon.
The Greek terms do not have any connotations of evil or malevolence. In fact, εὐδαιμονία eudaimonia, (literally good-spiritedness) means happiness. By the early Roman Empire, cult statues were seen, by pagans and their Christian neighbors alike, as inhabited by the numinous presence of the gods: “Like pagans, Christians still sensed and saw the gods and their power, and as something, they had to assume, lay behind it, by an easy traditional shift of opinion they turned these pagan daimones into malevolent ‘demons’, the troupe of Satan….. Far into the Byzantine period Christians eyed their cities’ old pagan statuary as a seat of the demons’ presence. It was no longer beautiful, it was infested.”[4] The term had first acquired its negative connotations in the Septuagint translation of the Hebrew Bible into Greek, which drew on the mythology of ancient Semitic religions. This was then inherited by the Koine text of the New Testament. The Western medieval and neo-medieval conception of a demon[5] derives seamlessly from the ambient popular culture of Late (Roman) Antiquity. The Hellenistic “daemon” eventually came to include many Semitic and Near Eastern gods as evaluated by Christianity.
The supposed existence of demons remains an important concept in many modern religions and occultist traditions. Demons are still feared largely due to their alleged power to possess living creatures. In the contemporary Western occultist tradition (perhaps epitomized by the work of Aleister Crowley), a demon (such as Choronzon, the Demon of the Abyss) is a useful metaphor for certain inner psychological processes (inner demons), though some may also regard it as an objectively real phenomenon. Some scholars[6] believe that large portions of the demonology (see Asmodai) of Judaism, a key influence on Christianity and Islam, originated from a later form of Zoroastrianism, and were transferred to Judaism during the Persian era.
Hi Childofra,
Where do I start! At the beginning I guess.

Most Bible commentaries state that the site of the Garden of Eden was in the Middle East, situated somewhere near where the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers are today. This is based on the description given in Genesis 2:8–14:
Even the great theologian John Calvin struggled over the exact location of the Garden of Eden. In his commentary on Genesis he states:
Moses says that one river flowed to water the garden, which afterwards would divide itself into four heads. It is sufficiently agreed among all, that two of these heads are the Euphrates and the Tigris; for no one disputes that . . . (Hiddekel) is the Tigris. But there is a great controversy respecting the other two. Many think, that Pison and Gihon are the Ganges and the Nile; the error, however, of these men is abundantly refuted by the distance of the positions of these rivers. Persons are not wanting who fly across even to the Danube; as if indeed the habitation of one man stretched itself from the most remote part of Asia to the extremity of Europe. But since many other celebrated rivers flow by the region of which we are speaking, there is greater probability in the opinion of those who believe that two of these rivers are pointed out, although their names are now obsolete. Be this as it may, the difficulty is not yet solved. For Moses divides the one river which flowed by the garden into four heads. Yet it appears, that the fountains of the Euphrates and the Tigris were far distant from each other.1
Calvin recognized that the description given in Genesis 2 concerning the location of the Garden of Eden does not fit with what is observed regarding the present Tigris and Euphrates Rivers. God’s Word makes it clear that the Garden of Eden was located where there were four rivers coming from one head. No matter how one tries to fit this location in the Middle East today, it just can’t be done.
Interestingly, Calvin goes on to say:
From this difficulty, some would free themselves by saying that the surface of the globe may have been changed by the deluge. . . .2
This is a major consideration that needs to be taken into account. The worldwide, catastrophic Flood of Noah’s day would have destroyed the surface of the earth. If most of the sedimentary strata over the earth’s surface (many thousands of feet thick in places) is the result of this global catastrophe as creationists believe, then we would have no idea where the Garden of Eden was originally located—the earth’s surface totally changed as a result of the Flood.
Not only this, but underneath the region where the present Tigris and Euphrates Rivers are located there exists hundreds of feet of sedimentary strata—a significant amount of which is fossiliferous. Such fossil-bearing strata had to be laid down at the time of the Flood.
Therefore, no one can logically suggest that the area where the present Tigris and Euphrates Rivers are today is the location of the Garden of Eden, for this area is sitting on Flood strata containing billions of dead things (fossils). The perfect Garden of Eden can’t be sitting on billions of dead things before sin entered the world! With that being said, if science is wrong about the original location of the Garden of Eden then couldn’t they be wrong about the original humans being from Africa.
I will answer the rest of your comment shortly. When I get home from work.
But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes.

Hi Collin
I have been really enjoying our conversations, it has been a pleasure to speak with you about all these things and I greatly appreciate your time and your feedback. Today, I started doing some research and I found an article I would like your opinion on, I don’t know what to make of it myself and would welcome your input. Here is a link to the article: http://jesuschrist.lds.org/his-life-and-teachings/articles/who-is-jesus-christ?lang=eng
There are many other articles on that particular website, I would appreciate any aid in this matter and again, I thank you.
HI Tyler,
The website you added a link to is an LDS or Mormon website. Although they do believe in Jesus as the Messiah, they follow the “Book of Mormon” more than God breathed scripture. If you want to know who Jesus is, then read the book of John in the New Testament. The Book of Mormon is NOT scripture.
But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
Galatians 1:8 (KJV)
Just remembered how much I love God. Thank you collin, thank you b&e. 12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. – Hebrews 4:12.
So powerful, it awakened my backsliding heart
Hi Collin watch this video I have found on youtube and please let me know what you think. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fGvIkc0tdpI
To :Fox Network….Your day of reckoning is coming when you who have producted this episode will stand in Judgement at the Day of Judgement in front of Christ for what you have been saying about Him.
According to the Bible when you Blaspheme Christ YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGIVEN FOR WHAT YOU HAVE SAID AND DONE. YOU are domed!!!!! SERIOUSLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is very HOT where you are going for eternity is where your SOUL will be.
There was an even worse blasphemy in the episode I just watched, where Brian and Stewie time travelled through historic episodes, but to preface that Brain said that Jesus didn’t really die on the cross – cut to a hospital bed and God the Father asking how Jesus died, and being told it was cocaine use and anal sex that killed him. It seems like they are trying harder and harder to offend, and don’t know where to stop. I fear for the producers and writers, because one day they will have to explain all this to God.
I find it rather funny that Jesus has no sense of humour, at least Maitreya has a grin. On the day of judgement I will definitely be cracking a joke or two to lighten up the mood among the condemned. God be like “stop laughing boy” and I be like “you the one that made me” and God be like “oh yeah my bad, sorry for throwing you in the lake” I’ll say “no problem, but could you make it a little warmer please, i’m getting chilly in here”
Why cant seth do his work and yet u follow a god who told one of his followers to kill his son in his name
One night God and his roomate Chugs were arm wrestling…
What a lot of you appear to be signally aware of is that TVs have ‘off’ switches. Computers can be powered down. You can choose not to download. You have the power to ignore. You can opt not to read. I can choose not to read the frothy-mouth rantings of the Westboro Baptist Church, even though they promote hate, division and violence.
Then we are (mostly) living in a new kind of community these days that accommodates a wide variety of viewpoints. The biblical admonitions shown above are from the days when ‘adulterers’ (only women though, ho-hum…..) were stoned in the streets and parents could legally murder disobedient children.
As I said I choose not to expose myself to such filth of the Westboro Baptists, even though their bigotry greatly saddens me. I would suggest to the preachy, editorializing people who run organs like this, that if the stuff offends you so much, why in the f### are you watching it?
Update. We (mostly) live in a societies where satirizing religion will not put you in danger of your life, unlike a lot of other places in the world. Your hand-wringing and censorious preaching reveals much more about you than it does about a CARTOON. A CARTOON.
You can take the piss out of anything. You can take the piss out of me. I’m game. What I find ‘offensive’ is gaggles of fundamentalists going around claiming that they speak for all mankind and their ‘outrage’ is on higher moral ground and more valid because of their particular superstition of choice. I might add that this particular religion, for many centuries, marched many an innocent to the gallows or the stake because his or her views deviated from dogma. I can see unfortunately that this mindset is alive and well in the twenty first century. Now that does offend me…..
Hello, its pleasant article regarding media print, we all be aware of media is a wonderful source of
information.
I am an ordained minister and I love God’s holy word; so much wisdom contained therein. I have just one thing to say about this episode: funniest. blasphemy. ever! Offensive words directed at the shows creator are far more harmful to your soul than the innocent (if rather mature) humorous portrayal of our Lord and Savior. Praise God!
seriously doubt the guy above me is a minister im not even close to that status and this episode was cringeworthy to the point i didnt even go 5 minutes in and had to shut it off……yup no more family guy for me also to those that doubt the good book god predicted everything you would do everything from the blaspheme to the mockery you arent outside of his reach 🙂 to those that question why the worlds so screwed up…….its kind of out fault as a race just saying humans have free will and while this earth is still turning this place is satans domain its not that god cant do anything its that we as a species expect him to so much that were forgetting 1 thing and that is he is god he can do whatever the heck he wants who are we to try to put him in a box? helloooooooo is anyone aware of what the definition of the word of god is cmon people
Family Guy is an equal opportunity offender. The subject of cancer has been parodied on a number of occasions. Seth MacFarlane’s own mother lost a battle to the disease. Perhaps this is his way of coping or dealing with it? What sane person makes jokes about it? Especially as it touches and affects the lives of most people. I’m still waiting for episodes mocking child abuse and child molestation. Maybe they’ve already done it? MacFarlane, like Playboy publisher and creator Hugh Hefner was, is being richly rewarded on this Earth. Hefner died in his 90’s after a life filled with self indulgence. MacFarlane seems to also have it all. Looks, wealth, women, talent, influence, popularity, success. Yes he is immensely talented. He has a great trained singing voice and has released several albums. He has dated a long list of beautiful women. But he is spiritually bankrupt. How sad it must be to believe that this world is all there is. To believe that when we die it is the end. If MacFarlane himself is one day terminally ill, where will his source of strength and comfort and peace come from? His faith is in himself and in things his wealth can get for him. In people his money can buy. But it would have to be terrible to realize it will all end. Like the homeless people Family Guy mocks, MacFarlane will leave this Earth just as empty handed as when he came into it. Death must be terrifying for someone like him. Family Guy has even mocked death itself on many occasions. People either cope with their fears with faith or by making jokes. I guess maybe we know how Seth MacFarlane copes with his fears. It makes sense that some people have failed to positively represent Christianity who have great public influence. How some televangelists have become vastly rich is perceived. But instead of merely just mocking these questionable representatives of Christianity, Family Guy attacks the very core of believers and their faith. And it doesn’t seem to be anywhere near the case with other religions. Could it be due to fear of reprisals by say the Muslim community? Christians are easier targets and therefore the primary receivers of MacFarlane’s great hatred and contempt for organized religion and people’s faith. His world is simply one of anything goes. No boundaries. Just self gratification and all that it entails.
I LOVE Family Guy and don’t really care about religion. You guys really are wasting your time believing that nonsense.
See the biblelickers whine. Blasphemy are you serious? Talk about a “crime” with no victims, so tell me what should be done about these I included blasphemers?
