“GCB” – Gross Christian Blasphemy

April 22, 2012 By Beginning and End

GCB Ad Love Thy Neighbor | ABC GCB Satanic Blasphemy

GCB goes out of its way to put Christians in the worst light possible.

Imagine a show about a Caucasian American family who move into a 99% Arab-Muslim community in Michigan. Instead of meeting warm and welcoming neighbors, the Muslim families on their block spend their time working on potential terrorist attacks, teaching their children how to strap on explosives and discussing how evil America is and its need for destruction. Osama Bin Laden pictures adorn the walls in many homes. The Arab Muslim women hold “Hamas Bake Sales” to fund overseas terror. When the husband of the new family on the block is out in the front yard mowing his lawn, his Muslim neighbor, wearing full traditional garb, waves and says “great day for some yard work, my infidel friend. Hope that thing doesn’t blow up on you!” Does this show seem offensive? Would a show like this ever have a chance of making it on television? Well if you switch the religion to Christian and keep the concept the same you have ABC’s new show “GCB”, one of the most over the top offensive, blasphemous and utterly ridiculous anti-Christian shows on TV this season.

The show (based on the novel “Good Christian B—-“) is centered on the character Amanda, a former “mean girl” who returns to the predominately Christian town of her youth. GCB is filled with the most blatant and horrible stereotypes of Christians imaginable. The three women who were teenage rivals of Amanda, who are supposedly devout church-going Christians, are walking hypocrisy. The Christian women gossip non-stop, spend their immense wealth on over-the top luxury items and plot endlessly against any woman who is not in their clique. Scriptures are quoted only as a means to make veiled threats. Church offerings are given to win influence in the church and for bragging rights. Wives cheat on their husbands. Their husbands are really closeted gays. Pastors steal materials from each other’s churches in competition for members. The children have no respect for their parents. But yet everyone gives the veneer in public of being devout Christians.

GCB — Blatant Blasphemy Against Jesus Christ

GCB Pastor Having Beer | GCB Satanic Blasphemy

The show’s pastor having a beer at a Hooters-style restaurant.

“The church is the center,” Harling said. “Church is sacred. There are rules. You have to be respectful of those rules and the joy of it watching these people try to function within these rules. The goal is to watch these people try to be good. What we emphasize is that we will never ever look at this in any other way than the most respectful as possible. We will never ever be disrespectful.” — GCB Executive Producer Robert Harling (source).

Webster’s 1828 dictionary defines blasphemy as: An indignity offered to God in words, writing, or signs; impiously irreverent words or signs addressed to, or used in reference to, God; speaking evil of God; also, the act of claiming the attributes or prerogatives of deity.

Despite the producers statements to the contrary, GCB is a prototype for Christian blasphemy as it is irreverent to God, Jesus and the Bible. The show’s website features its own version of the “10 Commandments” with slogans like: “Thou shall not covet thy neighbor’s husband…unless he’s really hot.”, “Remember the spa day and keep it holy,” and other mockeries of scripture which add to the cartoonish stereotypes of this show of Christian women being super-materialistic, adulterous, scheming vixens. And the stereotype that Christians in general are phonies who do not care about their faith in the least bit and just use church for their own personal gain.

In an episode entitled “Sex is Divine”, Pastor Ford goes to a Hooters-style restaurant where the waitresses were tight tops and short shorts, to have a beer. The Bible says: “A [pastor] then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach; Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;” (1 Timothy 3:2-3). Pastor Ford then ends up hiring Amanda, who was working there, to be his main assistant at church.

GCB Amanda in church | GCB Satanic Blasphemy

Amanda uses church prayer time to embarrass and ridicule her rivals.

The church, where all the characters gather every Sunday, is just another platform to show how evil the Christian women are. Prayer time is used to take personal shots at people. Pastors encourage couples, both married and unmarried, to have more sex (and the unmarried Amanda uses the sermon as a justification for her fornication later in the episode). There is no reverence for God, Jesus and absolutely no mention of the Gospel. In fact, the most “moral” character on the show is Amanda, the star and reformed “mean girl” who is really not into Christianity at all. This show is blasphemous and offensive to the core.

The Bible’s Standard – The Virtuous Woman

The Bible is very clear in outlining what are the characteristics of a Godly woman. Proverbs 31 in particular goes into length to explain what God sees as good qualities in a Christian woman:

Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life. – Proverbs 31:10-12

Christian woman first and foremost seek virtue. They are not out to cheat on their husbands and are trustworthy. Thus they do not need to be “bought off” with expensive luxury items. Contrary to what GCB portrays of course, where women are completely consumed with the lusts of the flesh and worldliness.

She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness. She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her..Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.

Wisdom in the Bible comes from knowing God’s Word and following it. Christian woman are to be God-fearing. They should be honest, humble and compassionate towards others. They are also supposed to take care of their homes and not use the home as a place to show off their wealth and entertain men for adultery. Notice that she speaks the “law of kindness.” Christian women who obey God are taught to be kind and compassionate in their speech, not backbiters and ripping into each other (something television today features women doing on an hourly basis). A Christian woman receives praise from her family and values that over showing off to the neighborhood. GCB shows Christian women as self-absorbed egomaniacs who are not remotely concerned with their families beyond their appearances.

Proverbs 31 continues to list the qualities of Christian women as being able to work to support her family, smart with money, providing for her loved ones, facing life and death with courage and above all being holy. Living a life that strives for Biblical purity and lifestyle. Finally, the Bible outlines a straightforward way for all born again Christians to know what follows in life once you believe in Jesus Christ with a new spirit: “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance..” (Galatians 5:22-23) This is what the Christian spirit is all about. While this does not mean that every Christian woman is perfect, the Christian life is about removing the sins and obstacles to become the person the God wants us to be. It is a process that God leads us through. GCB does not make any representation of what a Bible-believing woman would act like and goes out of its way to portray the exact opposite.

GCB’s Mocking of the Christian Faith

GCB Gay Husband | GCB Satanic Blasphemy

The closeted gay husband is the star of the church musical.

In a recent episode centered around a church play that was supposed to be about the miracles of Jesus, one of the women bribes her way into a role. Carlene, Amanda’s chief rival, chosen to play the lead role as the Holy Spirit, wears a tight corset-style outfit with a plunging neckline. And one of the gay husbands puts a disco-type song and dance performance in a shiny, skimpy silver toga. When the show is finally performed, the scantily clad Holy Spirit and Jesus are seen on the side of the stage toasting wine goblets while the casts dances to the Dixie Chicks. The Resurrection of Jesus Christ is the ultimate miracle in the Bible. It represents Christ defeating death and thus making it possible for all people to have eternal life by believing in Him. This show not only goes nowhere near mentioning that, it mocks Jesus and blaspheme the Holy Spirit by portraying it as a scantily clad-woman.

As stated in the opening paragraph if show was made about Muslims with this many blatantly offensive stereotypes, it would never make it to air (and as we covered earlier when the show South Park, which has ridiculed Christianity to no end, made one joke about the Muslim prophet Muhhamed, it was immediately censored). But GCB gets a major marketing campaign and a prime time Sunday slot. Alan Poul, the director and one of the executive producers of GCB told a crowd at a gay rally that homosexual images on television and in the media were “a life line” he wanted to “protect forever.” So there is no Christian support behind the scenes of the show either.

GCB E-card | GCB Satanic Blasphemy

An E-Card for the show from the GCB website.

All of this blasphemy is aimed at making society more comfortable with disrespecting Christianity. Whether it is in music, movies or television, Hollywood has become brazen and flagrant in attacking Christianity over every other religion on Earth. Jesus predicted this would take place when He said:

“If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also. But all these things will they do unto you for my name’s sake, because they know not him that sent me.If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloak for their sin.” (John 15:18-19)

The world hated Jesus because He exposed the sin of the world. And people do not want to hear about their sin. Satan, who wants to bring as many people to Hell with him as possible, knows that in order to keep people away from God, those who would promote the Bible need to be shunned, ridiculed and not taken seriously. Hollywood has been working on this for decades and GCB is proof that openly mocking every aspect of Christianity is now acceptable.

One Million Moms, a pro-family, Christian organization has organized a boycott of this show, that has resulted in several major sponsors, including Reebok, TurboTax, Old Navy, Olive Garden, Macy’s, and McDonald pulling their ads. There is a “Just Say No to CGB” Facebook Page as well. But Christians can also pray for this show to be taken off the air. The latest reports say it is on the bubble with respect to being cancelled. One wonders with so many Christian pastors on TV, why none of them are speaking out about such an offense to the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. But Christians who believe the Bible, should take heart and stand on the Word of the Lord: ” And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.” (Ephesians 5:11). Now more than ever Bible-believing Christians need to stand for God and His righteousness even if others will not. Discussing this show with others can serve as a platform to properly inform people that Christianity is about love, forgiveness and true peace with God through Jesus Christ. And a willingness to not be ashamed but stand up for what we believe, even when society is disrespecting our faith. The entertainment is swiftly drawing a line in the sand. Shows are becoming so blasphemous, occultic and satanic that as a Christian there is no room to support them and worship God at the same time. Make sure you are on the right side.

“Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.” ( Galatians 6:7-8)

What you’re forgetting to understand is that this is a comedy show – and humor is supposed to show incongruity between what is expected and what is full reality. Christians, as portrayed in this show, can and widely do act in the same manner as the characters presented. Of course, in most cases, a truly devout Christian would probably not act like the characters in GCB (Good Christian Bitches/Belles), but for a good portion of people who fall under the category of Christian, there is complete and constant ignorance and violation of Christianity. This show is supposed to express this segment of the fake Christians, which as we know, are widely present without society. Add in some humor here and there, and you’re going to get some Christian puns which may be offensive to all Christians, but is still only intended for targeting the fake Christians.

The problem with your Muslim example is that there isn’t a wide number of Muslims who act in the terrorist-like manner that you’re playing off of. If you look at the statistics, less that 1% of Muslims actually partake in such activities. But, though I have no raw numbers, if you look at the statistics for the amount of fake Christians, I’m sure you’d find over 20% to have violated, significantly, some Christian rule or scripture. Though it’s a ballpark estimate, the idea is that there’s A LOT of them. Some of which fall under the category of fake-ly devout Christians, such as the character portrayed in GCB.

So please, get over it. Because I love the show, and as a devout Christian, I can understand where and what the show is playing on. I’m aware of their incorrect remarks and actions, but what they’re saying is true: there are fake Christians.

It would be okay for the show to harp on the lukewarm Christians of today’s society, but to blatantly disrespect God and Jesus Christ and to undermine His importance should not be okay for any Christians. We are commanded to fear and respect God, and if you will not defend God and his greatness after someone has blasphemed Him, then I question your intention in this comment. There is a fine line between humor and offensiveness, and this show is far beyond that line.

      Hi Tim,

Thanks very much for your comments. I would agree with Jim and say that the show goes beyond the line as it blasphemes God the Father and Jesus Christ and the entire faith. I also am a little saddened that as a devout Christian, you think that 20% of your church are “fake.” Born again Christians will still sin after they are saved. We have a new spirit but are still housed in our sinful, flesh bodies. This is why Jesus said: “the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. ” (Matthew 26:41). The Apostle Peter denied even knowing The Lord 3 times, yet he went on to become the leader of the church and one of the boldest preachers of the Gospel in the Bible (even up to the point of being killed for his faith). All Christians need time to make mistakes, repent to God and grow more in Christ. I hope you reach out in support and love to your brothers and sisters at church who you think are “faking it” before just writing them off. God bless.

We definately need more people speaking out about issues like this….it not only is offensive and flat out wrong, but what about the message that shows like this send to our youth and those young adults trying to make sense of what is right and wrong? What about those who are in a fragile state morally that look for guidance and strength and confirmation of what has been taught to them by parents, pastors and counselors as to what lifestyle is ordained by God himself? It is hard enough for young people today not be swayed by hollywood into thinking christian lifestyle should be anything less than what God has showed us in scripture throughout the bible as examples for living our life(Ephesians 4:17-32 and 5:1-22). Unfortunately, many are greatly influenced by media and such…

[Bravo, Beginning…Wondering if you have seen the following. I saw it lately on the worldwide net.]

    Boycott GOOD CHRISTIAN B****** !

Which group is worse – the Good Christian B****** or the Bad Jewish Blasphemers producing it? This TV series comes soul-damningly close to what Jesus warned is the Unpardonable Sin Against the Holy Spirit (Matthew 12:32), and this production even backstabs millions of evangelicals who are Israel’s best friends! Zechariah 13 and 14 predicted in 487 BC that after Israel becomes a nation, all other nations will eventually be against it and that two-thirds of the Jews will die. Malachi 2 reveals that God will allow this because Jews will be dealing “treacherously every man against his brother.”
Another goal of anti-Christian moguls is to see who dares to be first to portray, on newsstand covers featuring women, the TOP of the “lower cleavage” hiding behind the already skimpy bikini bottoms which could be called “satan-itary napkins” since they seem to cover less flesh than sanitary napkins! (Guess who really wants to exploit and degrade females in the War on Women?)
For more unique and energizing reading, Google or Yahoo “Mikey Weinstein, Jesus-Basher,” “Separation of Raunch and State,” “The Earliest Hate Criminals,” “Pretrib Rapture Politics” and “Islam will purify Jews and Christians.”

@Beginning and end.I like the beginning of your article. The way you compared how the muslim religon is treated in the movie and tv industry.Meaning that they wouldn’t dare mock the muslim religion. But they go out of there way to disrespect christians. That being said Iam kind of bother by what you wrote later on in your article.Iam refering to your comment concerning If a show had so many sterotypes about African Americans it wouldn’t make it on air.Iam a born again christian and Iam also African American. The hollywood industry has no problem putting out sterotypes about African Americans.Although their hatred for true bible beliveing christians is more than their sterotypes of African Americans. The way the hollywood and tv industry treat muslims isn’t the same way they treat African Americans. The industry goes out of their way to avoid sterotypes and anything that could be seen as offensive to muslims & gay people. To me it’s more accurate to say the industry favors the muslim religion & the gay agenda.

Hey JW — Thanks for your comments. And I think you make a valid point. The more I think about it, there is unfortunately programming which puts out African American stereotypes (“Meet The Browns” comes to mind). While I don’t think anything as flagrant as GCB is on air today (is there? I may not be aware), it’s still a very good point you make (and I have updated the article accordingly). Thanks very much for your insights. God bless!

Excellent article as always! When I started to read this I felt the need to cry. I take this personally! You mean to tell me they made a show about my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as a mockery? The Lord of love, peace, long suffering, my provider, my beginning and end. Oh how this saddeneds me:(. I feel as if someone was to talk about someone’s mother in this fashion there would be an uprising. But nobody saying much about this and they are talking about our Lord which is greater than any mother on the face of this earth. I saw the ads for this show but never knew what those letters stand for. That you for posting this info because I will use this as a teaching tool for my family. This is horrible! I can’t imagine what’s next. LORD FORGIVE THEM EVEN THOUGH THEY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING.

Islam is a “religion” of violence, destruction and death. In it is prescribed violence, destruction and death for anyone who dares make a mockery of “Allah” or “Muhammad”; that is why no one has the guts to make fun of it. It is a false religion, of Lucifer, created by Lucifer. Why do you think it involves violence and death to the so-called “infidels”?

However, people feel comfortable mocking Christianity because they have no fear of suffering a violent backlash from Christians. Christians do not hardly strap on bombs and go out and blow people up because they make a mockery. That’s what Muslims do. We (Christians) are told instead to pray for our enemies (or the enemies of God and Christ), and to offer the other cheek to be slapped when it becomes necessary because God is our shield and buckler; He is our strong tower of defense. He will deal with His enemies. People who take pleasure in mocking all that is holy and righteous clearly have no fear of God and His power to deal swiftly and justly with His enemies. They foolishly believe they are above His judgements.

I do not watch this show, nor do I ever plan to, but just the fact that a homosexual character on the show was cast to play the Lord Jesus Christ in a play, and a woman of ill repute was cast to play the Holy Spirit of God is enough for me to steer clear.

“And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him. But unto him that BLASPHEMETH against the Holy Ghost it shall NOT be forgiven.” Luke 12:10 (KJV)

You Need Schooling probably flunked school – dear, the reason Islam get such bad press is because ‘civilized’ scumbags like you Americans keep on invading their lands – I also find it amusing that most of the ‘bad’ things reported on Muslims are a direct result of all those invasions and stealing of land by the Judeo/Christian mafia cartel. Dear, Israel has killed more christians when they invaded Lebanon recently than all terrorist bombings attributed to Muslims worldwide! Heck, when Hezbollah (a LEGITIMATE resistance group) kicked Israel out of Southern (mainly christian) Lebanon, The Greek Orthodox Church had a rally in support of them. Your US troops are currently massacring hundreds of African christians in southern Sudan – all to grab their oil – yet we get NO mention of it in the papers – and you’re worried about a stupid TV show? Sheesh!

Heck, if it weren’t for all those Gulf countries like Dubai employing so many Catholics from the Phillippines they’d probably starve – where s your ‘christian’ generosity while dealing with your co-religionists you call ‘illegals’ then?

What you have done is put all Christians in the same pot. The same way they stereo type all different races. This GCB show is almost typical of many of the churches I and my family attended, the sordid things that go on behind the scenes and between church attendances in the communities would actually make the GCB episodes appear lame and innocent, such as church ministers having steamy affairs with married women and seducing children. GCB is closer to reality than most people want to admit. Yes the hypocrisy of this forum is deafening!

Frankly, the entire community learned about some of the incidents, for instance a friend went visiting one of the women and discovered the minister in bed with her while her truck driver husband was away, I and some of my school mates were also privately approached by another minister who took us for Bible study and offered to teach us how to masturbate. These were from different churches as each time a minister fell from our or public respect, we would change congregations. Yet we have yet to find a church without scandal. I’m seriously considering Buddhism, as many of my friends have become Buddhists.

Problem there is that on public forums , naming churches could lead me into legal difficulties and also create bigger scandals. Though the Nathalia Presbyterian church members all know about the minister and the truck driver’s wife scandal, where we left there to join the Anglican church where the minister tried to seduce us boys. Later I left to become a member of the Bendigo Revival Center which was also full of deception and scandal. No congregation is safe, people are GCB is closer to the truth than many want to believe, including yourself!

Nowhere do I say that Christian churches are not involved in scandals. Of course some of them are. But that does not justify blatant stereotypes of all the worst aspects of church behavior. I am sorry for your experiences (even though there is no press about scandals at any of those churches). What is clear from looking at these churches is that they do not preach Biblical Christianity but instead opt for man-made doctrines like baptism being required to be saved or speaking in tongues being proof that you’re going to Heaven. I hope and pray you find a church that is in line with Bible Scripture.

Oh, but I did point out the churches involved in two of the many, many scandals that my family and I have witnessed over the years, Nathalia Uniting church which was called the Presbyterian church at the time of the scandal and The Anglican church also in the town of Nathalia, Victoria Australia where the minister in question was promoted to head of the Anglican church of the city of Shepparton where he actually performed our wedding. Somewhat ironical. The locals often made jokes about his depravity.

Thanks B&E, though every denomination I’ve entered all assure me that they follow Biblical Scripture closer than all the others. So far none of them do. They all interprit the Bible differently, usually in accordance to what suits their bigotry or fantasy. This has always been a falling in Christianity and is the main reason why I’m questioning if Christianity is really truthful at all. I know of a few ministers who after over 20 years of service, have left to become atheists and one of them told me that it was that they found so many faults in Christian theology that he could no longer hold onto his belief in it. From my experience and my sociology/philosophy/psychology training: I can see that this is the principle fault with Christianity that is driving highly intelligent people away from it. I’m looking for personal answers, but, hate driven sites like this are starting to make me think Christianity may have been a poor choice.

True Nolan in that “The posts prove the statement Christians are meany mouth snots.”

Many of the uppity Christians that post on these forums are of that type which is driven by over zealous Christian egotism.

The same Christian egotism that created a dislike for G.C.B.

To many of my non-egotistical fellow Christian friends, G.C.B. is great and they have no problem with laughing at the show.

When I studied philosophy, my teacher said that if we cast our egos aside, we can examine ourselves more thoroughly and laugh at our own deeply held beliefs. I can laugh at people mocking my beliefs, because I don’t have to shield them with my ego.
This is also something that Buddhism teaches as pointed out by my Buddhist neighbor.
Many on this site have massively narcissistic egos and it is these egos that G.C.B. is hurting.
They need to learn to cast their stupid illogical egotism aside and have a belly laugh at G.C.B.s portrayal of very confused stupid people.

As Christians, we are not to judge anyone. Our jobs, as commanded by God, is to love one another. I do not see any love in the two posters. I, for one, can easily see how people stay away from churches and can see GCB does portray the behavior of many. My family are country people trying to survive and live according to what we believe bible states us to live. We are a version of the Waltons, drive an old truck, live in the 75 year old family farmhouse, dont have designer clothes and are not welcomed in big fancy church. May 1, 2012 at 11:03 am

Wow. Some pretty vitriolic talk here, and most of it from the people supposedly defending our Christian faith. Amazing.

I’ve seen the show and I loved it. Why? Because it’s a lot like church life is, in my experience. You have a bunch of flawed human beings alternately following their own desires and trying to live up to the example that our Lord gave us.

I’ve attended , and served in, churches all my life. My wife is a church secretary. I don’t see where this content is blasphemous and I definitely don’t see where it’s inaccurate.

Comparing my personal experience to GCB plot points: pastoral rivalry, including using other church’s material as a template for in-house publications – check; closeted gay husbands – check; over-the-top church musicals with massive politics and behind-the-scenes bribery and coercion – check; old childhood grudges being acted out through church maneuvering – check; people withdrawing financial support because things didn’t go exactly the way they wanted it – check. Come on, people; we’re human beings! These are exactly the kinds of shenanigans we pull, inside church and out. Church even magnifies some of the bad behavior, in some cases. We should know better but we still pull the same stunts, time and again. That’s the comedy and tragedy of church life. That’s the good news of Grace, because God knows, we need it — not just once, but every day of our lives.

Of course, not all the people at any church behave this way. There is usually a solid core of people with their heads down, quietly doing the work and taking care of others. But the characters in this show are the ones every church puts up with, works around, and asks God for patience to deal with. I imagine most pastors in the privacy of their TV room could put real names to every one of the characters. I think the nerve that’s being hit here is that it’s too close to home. It’s not that it mocks God; it’s that it mocks us and our bumbling attempts to live a good Christian life. And you know what? I think we need to be poked a little about this. Being able to see ourselves in this and laugh at the silliness of it might help us the next time we’re tempted to act like children in a church situation.

Instead of taking offense at the uncomfortable similarities of the characters to some of the people we know in our church (not ourselves, of course, but those other people :^) ) , why not look at how these episodes end? Amanda learns that she was allowing her pride to take her over and she ruined the musical because of it. The women learn that bitterness about not being a Hollywood star and resentment about past wrongs have become more important than delivering a message of hope and love. The pastor counsels Amanda that she can’t control other people’s forgiveness of her actions. They rise above their personal pettiness and start focusing on the real goal.

Sometimes I wonder if I’m watching the same show when I read all this vitriol about GCB. There were great messages in the church musical episode, messages of reconciliation, forgiveness, letting go of pride, bitterness, and anger, learning to accept with humility the role you’re given rather than the role you want, the power of saying you’re sorry, the acknowledgement that what you’re doing is for you and not for God.

As I see it, God doesn’t need defending. He’s a Big Boy. The Biggest. It’s ludicrous to think that His survival or strength depends on us; now that’s REAL blasphemy. Sorry to say, I think the defensiveness here is coming from another source entirely — either our own bruised egos or some deep-seated fear. Perfect love casts out fear. We’re overdue for some casting, in my opinion.

It’s a fun, funny, well-produced show, in my opinion. I’m happy to watch it and laugh as I recognize myself and others in the craziness of this imaginary church in Dallas. It’s definitely on my DVR and I’m recommending it to everyone, particularly my church friends.

      May 4, 2012 at 11:32 am

      Hi JB,

Thank you very much for your thoughts and comments. I wanted to respond to a few things you mentioned:

      1. “I don’t see where this content is blasphemous and I definitely don’t see where it’s inaccurate.” — As the article states, blasphemy is against God. The show insults God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. That is blasphemy. Blasphemy is not something you do against a person. The Bible says:

2 Kings 19:22 Whom hast thou reproached and blasphemed? and against whom hast thou exalted thy voice, and lifted up thine eyes on high? even against the Holy One of Israel.

Psalms 74:18 Remember this, that the enemy hath reproached, O LORD, and that the foolish people have blasphemed thy name.

God says clearly that He is not mocked. Yet this show mocks Him repeatedly. Additionally, I don’t know how portraying the Holy Spirit as a scantily clad woman would not be mockery. So I believe the show is blasphemous.

      2. “Comparing my personal experience to GCB plot points:” — I don’t think personal stories are the strongest form of evidence when we are talking about stereotyping an entire group of people in the manner that GCB does. But since you opened the door, I must ask, what church is it that you are going to that has all of this adultery, gossip mongering, hatred, homosexuality, greed and blatant lack of concern for the Bible or the Christian faith? Who is your pastor that steals from other churches? This is the second post that has made these claims with no evidence. If this is all true, just name the church. And then I would ask, why would you be attending a church like this if it were so off the rails? Christians sin. Christians hurt each other. No doubt. But this shows goes out of its way to portray Christians in the worst light.

And the point is that on GCB, there are NO Christian characters who display any hint of Biblical Christianity. None. The BIble is never used in an accurate way. Jesus Christ is never praised. All of the Christian characters are silly stereotypes and caricatures. And the “good messages” are never rooted in the Bible, but in man-made wisdom.

      3. “As I see it, God doesn’t need defending. He’s a Big Boy. The Biggest. It’s ludicrous to think that His survival or strength depends on us; now that’s REAL blasphemy. ” — Okay, so even though a show can ridicule Christianity the real blasphemers are those who try to defend Christianity. Well let’s see what the Bible says:

And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. – Ephesians 5:11

“Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.” – Psalm 1:1-2

“Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.” – Jude 2-4

The Bible instructs us to contend and defend the faith. It instructs us to expose the works of darkness. It tells us not to join up with those who are caught up in sin and support them. Jesus said whosoever denies Him, him He will deny before the Father. So the question is, do you believe the Bible or your own view of what is right and wrong?

I hope that you at a minimum realize that I am no way trying to blaspheme The Lord with this article. But rather, humbly obey the Bible. God bless.

Anyone can take a quote out of the bible and turn it around to what there beliefs are. But on the same note the bible also says. Romans 2:1-5 ESV / 23 helpful votes

Therefore you have no excuse, O man, every one of you who judges. For in passing judgment on another you condemn yourself, because you, the judge, practice the very same things. We know that the judgment of God rightly falls on those who practice such things. Do you suppose, O man—you who judge those who practice such things and yet do them yourself—that you will escape the judgment of God? Or do you presume on the riches of his kindness and forbearance and patience, not knowing that God’s kindness is meant to lead you to repentance? But because of your hard and impenitent heart you are storing up wrath for yourself on the day of wrath when God’s righteous judgment will be revealed.

There is nothing wrong with this show. It Makes light of some serious situation’s and things work out in the end. Good prevails. Isn’t that what we should be hoping for in the end.

Hi Faith I’m sorry for your experiences. But I do not see how that justifies a show like GCB? Can we make the same argument against Muslims and say they are all bad based on 9/11? Or because a Muslim person was mean to you one day? I don’t think we should make blanket judgments about any group of people in this manner. If anything, GCB is working to promote negative stereotypes and promote hypocrisy and hate so I fail to see why you would support that.

        Hi Goiday,

I think what this is all comes down to is that we have vastly different worldviews. You are judging this article, myself and Christians by what you feel is right, wrong and just. My worldview is to look at morality through the Bible and what God sees as sin. Blasphemy of God is a clear sin in Scripture. That is the point of the article. You seem to be looking at this issue as if we should be concerned about what “intelligent people” think. My concern is God, His Word and serving Him. So I think that is why we are at such a variance.

        • Goiday_myd says

No B&E, again you are entirely wrong, which seems from reading your

other replies here at least makes you consistent! Nowhere does Jesus

preach hatred and intolerance for those who we perceive as

transgressors. Jesus taught tolerance and love for those that we

          perceive as transgressors against us.
Thus you have demonstrated much that is anti-Christian in this blog.
It is not for us to be the judges, that is God’s task as so often we

cannot see past our own perceptions.
Your perceptions of GCB’s transgressions may not be the same as God’s

view of them, regardless of your interpretation of the scriptures,

which also may be entirely incorrect. This is another reason my

theologian friend left Christianity behind. In many GCB helps to

highlight faults that do actually exist in pseudo-Christian communities

and you can learn from it while laughing, instead of blindly condemning

it, based on your bigoted interpretation of scripture. Leave those

that you perceive as transgressors alone and let God be the real judge

for their sins. You cannot possibly judge for him!!

          • Goiday_myd says

            September 13, 2012 at 7:47 pm

BTW: B&E, I noticed from this web site that you place a lot of faith in the Old Testament. Many Catholic theologians, including my friend who passed away a few years ago have told me that the Old Testament may have been inspired by God, but, it was not written by God. There are too many mistakes in it, such as Leviticus 11:20-23 where insects have four legs and four feet, also the Noachian ‘Global Flood’ that there is no worldly evidence for as well as Moses’s mass exodus of Israelites from Egypt, that there is also no real evidence for. So you shouldn’t place so much trust in That which is severely flawed. Inspiration does not produce factual truths. The only sections of the Bible that we Christians should observe as truthful are the teachings of Jesus. Possibly even Jesus didn’t believe in four legged insects nor the ‘Great Flood’ if he ever knew about them, which there is a strong possibility that he didn’t. Leviticus 20:21 Yet these may ye eat of every flying creeping thing that goeth upon all four, which have legs above their feet, to leap withal upon the earth; 22 Even these of them ye may eat; the locust after his kind, and the bald locust after his kind, and the beetle after his kind, and the grasshopper after his kind. 23 But all other flying creeping things, which have four feet, shall be an abomination unto you.

Flies have six legs but WALK with four. Their front “legs” are hands that are used for eating and carrying their young.

              2. The Flood — There is definite scientific evidence for the flood that can be found in the dust spikes in the Greenland Ice Sheet.

              3. The Old Testament IS evidence of the history of the Israelites in Egypt. Not to mention that Jesus confirmed the writings of Moses by quoting the book of Genesis and Exodus in the Gospels. So Jesus, who you say you follow, believed Moses existed and believed his writings to be true.

              Jesus also confirms the flood:

For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. — Matthew 24:38-39

You have every right to doubt the Bible but you are playing a dangerous game. This is much bigger than this article, this website or this discussion. It is about the state of your soul. If you do not believe the Gospels, you have no salvation. Which means your sin remains on you and you will be found guilty before God after you die. And that is not a fate I would ever want you to suffer because it means eternity in hell. Jesus said: “Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.” Have you come to Him? Have you put your faith and trust in Jesus for the forgiveness of your sins? Do you believe the Bible or just reject it for your own personal-religion? I hope and pray you consider eternal life in Christ.

            Hey Goiday,

“Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.” — Jesus Christ John 7:24.

“But he that is spiritual judgeth all things” 1 Corinthians 2:15.

Once again, we just share a different worldview. Notice that you are not quoting any scripture to support your assertions about Christianity. You are just trying to explain Christianity based on your personal feelings. Jesus tells us to judge “righteous judgment” which is in accordance with Scripture. Christians are commanded to judge. How else can you evaluate morality of anything without judging. If a man robs and murders someone, are we wrong to call that person “bad”?? Should we not judge them? Of course we should.

You say Jesus had tolerance for the transgressors. Jesus never “tolerated” sinners. He forgave them if they believed in Him as their Savior. You say that this article “preaches hatred” yet you give no example. The article clearly defines blasphemy and states that GCB is blasphemous to the core. Since you do not have a Christian worldview, you have absolutely no concern for the offense to God and Jesus this show does. To the point that you will not even address it. As such, I would never expect us to agree because I am looking at this show from a Christian perspective, not a worldly one. What is your relationship with God? That is a much more paramount issue.

Dust spikes alone have not proven the ‘Great Flood’ as my ex, who is a geologist has shown me, there are literally thousands of cases against it, including entire civilizations that existed and thrived right through the period of the flood without even noticing the event.
Articles inspired by God, but not written by him are always prone to mistakes in human knowledge and misinterpretation, the Old Testament shows much of this. My studies in ancient history and anthropology throws up too many challenges that the Bible is incapable of answering.
Even the Australian Aboriginals have a history of local survival going back 40,000 years without a tragic great flood.

Yes, we are told to make personal judgements so as to avoid those that may put ourselves personally into making incorrect decisions, though to proclaim our judgements publicly and push them onto others as you have done shows a high degree of narcissism and megalomania in exalting your views above those of others. The Bible teaches us to be humble and show humility.
            Ephesians 4:2 with all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;
Ecclesiastes 7:8 The end of a matter is better than its beginning, and patience is better than pride.
Peter 5:5 Likewise, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”
Your replies and attacks on GCB are so obviously based on your overzealous pride as GCB upsets your ego based world view. I see posts from many humble Christians who do not oppose GCB, it does not upset their pride as it does yours. Thus re-read Peter 5:5 and take note!

              1. Saying your ex is a geologist does nothing to disprove the scientific observations in the article. Nor have you shown any evidence of the “thousands” of cases against it or the civilizations who thrived during the time of the flood. These are just unsupported statements.

              2. It’s fine if you doubt the Bible. Again, that is your right. But you have no actual evidence to doubt it aside from general “humans are prone to mistake.” This too is not an argument against Scripture.

              3. “Yes, we are told to make personal judgements so as to avoid those that may put ourselves personally into making incorrect decisions” – No, this is not what Jesus said. He said to judge “righteous judgment” which means to judge people and things according to the Bible. Which is what this article does. The show was blasphemous and the article rightly calls it so. There is nothing prideful about it. You say I attack the show? Where are the attacks? I define blasphemy and show how the show meets that definition.

And once again, I ask, what is your relationship with God? Because you seem to never take God’s perspective into account in anything you write.

God is what goodness is in my heart, Jesus laid out the rules and methods by which I choose to live.
My experience in many Christian denominations has led me to doubt the sanity of humanity and the writings of very naive mortals who were simply inspired by God, though evidently not divinely instructed in what to write, otherwise the messages would have more clarity and far less error.

The thousands of forms of evidence against the flood are caves existing prior to the flood that show no signs of sediment, stalactites and stalagmites that have taken millions of years to form that would have disolved during the flood, large flat igneous surfaces that show no sign of sediment no sedimentary rock that would have had had more sediment layered there than the mountain tops, etc… ad infinitum.

You haven’t explained how whole civilizations managed to survive right through the flood era without a single loss due to the flood.

Such explanations are evidently well beyond your meager, extreme naivity!

“God is what goodness is in my heart, Jesus laid out the rules and methods by which I choose to live.” – What does this mean? We are not saved by “rules.” We are not saved by our behavior. We are saved by faith.

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. — Ephesians 2:8-9.

            B&E Old Extremely Naive M8! 😀 :p

Your website is full of false Illuminati conspiracy theories.
You blame this non-existent Illumaniti on foisting Satanic media and concepts onto youth.
No IT IS YOU AND YOUR KIND THAT FOIST SATANIC MOVIES, MUSIC AND LITERATURE ONTO OUR YOUTH. The Illuminati don’t exist!
YOU ARE TOO STUPID, NAIVE AND BIGOTED TO SEE THE ERRORS OF YOUR WAYS.

I know from working in a book/music/video outlet that also sold porn and sex toys. Our biggest pornography clients are young Christians and Muslims. Because their culture and parents forbid it, they yearn for it.
This is the social experience the world over:
PROHIBITION NEVER EVER WORKS, IT JUST INCREASES BLACK MARKET SALES!
This experience as well as my studies into psychology have shown that YOUTH ARE VERY REACTIONARY BEINGS!
For instance, whenever China bans or protests about a film or publication, we suddenly find ourselves selling multiple copies of it to young Chinese.
Whenever Islam complains about western literature, movies and porn, we are inundated with young Muslims and even Christians purchasing these.

This is likely to occur with the movie about Mohammad that Islam is currently protesting about, their protests will only serve to boost sales, regardless of how good a movie it actually is.

Yes, I could take a book, movie or even song that failed get sales over double figures, put a satanic title, passage or lyrics into it and promote it with the stupid fake Illuminati symbols and sell millions without even having to pay for most of the advertising.

YES, YOU AND YOUR KIND WILL BE DOING MOST OF THE ADVERTISING FOR ME IN YOU STUPID PROTESTS WITH CLAIMS THE ILLUMINATI WERE INVOLVED IN THE PRODUCTION! WRONG!!! IT WAS SIMPLY TO ATTRACT YOUR ILLOGICAL WRATH AND ADVERTISE MY PRODUCT FOR ME, BECA– USE SUCH PROTESTS MAKE THE PRODUCT ATTRACTIVE TO YOUNG, VERY CURIOUS PEOPLE!

Christianity may have had GCB axed, but there is also a petition that even I signed to bring it back.
Though even if that fails, because of the protests concerning it, the DVD set for GCB will be purchases by millions of young Christians that are curious to see what all the fuss was about.

I’ve read your protests concerning young music artists using such Satanic terms and symbols in their music. Yes, they are after your attention so you will advertise their wares for them. It’s now considered good commercial practice to create controversy, because controversy sells and YOU ARE THEIR SALESMAN!
Though, they don’t even have to pay you commission for the sales you create, so you are being ripped off majorly there. 😀 😉

“Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” — Galatians 6:7

You are sowing the seeds of promoting and selling Satanic literature without even knowing you are! 😀

Paul Verhoeven should give you a medal or even thank you for likely increasing the sales of his “Jesus of Nazareth” for him.

To slightly alter Jesus’s comment from the crucifix.

FORGIVE ‘BEGGING AND END’ AND THEIR KIND, FATHER, FOR THEY ARE TOO STUPID TO UNDERSTAND WHAT THEY DO!

Are you getting clips of this show and taking them out of Context or are you actually watching the show. Romans 2:1-5

Being a good Christian I see nothing wrong with this show. Comedy poke’s jokes at everything. I even thing God has a Since of Humor. Seriously though these are about people that say they are Christian but are not exactly living the righteous path. That they stumble but find there way in the end. No one is without sin. It shows how bigoted and unrelentingly cowardly Islam is, I know that Mohammad was a pedophile and the veil was introduced by him to hide how young his bride of 9 years of age was when they had to face the public, this was the entire reason that the burqa became part of his religion. It was to help hide his vile activities, yet Islam also came from the seed of Abraham, just as Judaism and even Christianity. You see I’m a student of history and dislike any group , religion or nation that tries to hide the truth about it’s past by intimidation, violence and murder. Such is Islam and even Catholicism, that has also a history of using intimidation, violence and murder to hide it’s atrocious past.
None of them will likely be true representations of God!
Yet, since God is ineffable, my judgement may be wrong.

I am not the judge of Mohammad being a pedophile, it was well known he took a 9 year old wife. For which he invented his own excuse. It is also from writings of one of his wives who caught him committing adultery, for which he altered his religious teachings to allow him the privilege of committing such acts.
Yes he altered his religion to allow himself more perverse privileges.

Similar to Joseph Smith when constructing ‘The Book of Mormon’.

I learned enough in psychology to know that these are actions that are categorized in the term “Narcissistic Megalomania”.

Thus I am giving the correct term Mohammad’s character.

I believe the truth should be known and available to the masses.
I have always been an educator and hold truth in high regard.
If a belief system is wrong and the founder of that belief system was involved in criminal disreputable and seriously immoral activities, it should be available to all who want to know the truth. Thus I would support any documentary exposing Mohammad’s, Joseph Smiths (Mormons) or Charles Russell’s (Jehovah Witnesses) unsavory activities. Just as publicly exposing David Koresh earlier may have saved more Branch Davidians from death. Exposing the truth about religious narcissistic megalomaniacs like Mohammad, may save more lives than it destroys.
Likely many intelligent moderates will leave Islam for Christianity, Buddhism or even to the extreme of atheism. I know one Pakistani atheist, ex-Muslim who turned away from Islam because of learning the truth about Mohammad’s lust and treatment of women.
Yes, learning real history opened her eyes!

If thy truth about your belief system offends you, block your ears and shut your eyes!
Then you can remain forever in the bliss of ignorance! 😀

“religious narcissistic megalomaniacs like Mohammad,” – Wow, that sounds like a whole lot of judgment to me. See, this is why I am emphasizing our different worldviews. You are judging now, clearly, even though you condemn this article for judging.

You say you don’t believe the Old Testament. The Koran was based off of the Old Testament primarily. So how do you “know” Muhammad was a pedophile? How can you be sure it wasn’t just a “human mistake” in recording his history? For some reason, you give the Koran and Islamic history 100% credibility for its accuracy. Your post reveals your contradictions.

But this is because you are just making up your own belief system, so you can shift your ground when you find it necessary. But this site adheres to God’s Word and uses that as its guide.

    Hi Beginning and End,

” As the article states, blasphemy is against God. The show insults God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.”

You haven’t provided any evidence that the show blasphemes God. In fact, some of your “evidence” is incorrect. The closeted gay husband does not play Jesus; he plays Lazaurs. The man who plays Jesus takes the role seriously and reverently. Did you really watch this episode?

It pokes fun at Christians who behave badly but there is no mockery of God that I can see. If you’ve confused mocking Christians behaving badly with mocking God, I don’t know what to say. You’ve definitely missed the point.

“God says clearly that He is not mocked. Yet this show mocks Him repeatedly. Additionally, I don’t know how portraying the Holy Spirit as a scantily clad woman would not be mockery. So I believe the show is blasphemous”

You can believe it all you want, but you’re basing your belief on an interesting definition of blasphemy and mis-information. The Holy Spirit was swaddled in so many layers of clothing she could hardly walk. Again… did you even watch this episode you’re maligning?

” I don’t think personal stories are the strongest form of evidence when we are talking about stereotyping an entire group of people in the manner that GCB does.”

So you’re upset that a show about a particular group of people in an imaginary church is somehow supposed to represent all Christians? Why would you think this? That’s a big leap. TV is full of stereotypes. Name a TV sitcom that doesn’t use stereotypes as its main characters.

“But since you opened the door, I must ask, what church is it that you are going to that has all of this adultery, gossip mongering, hatred, homosexuality, greed and blatant lack of concern for the Bible or the Christian faith? Who is your pastor that steals from other churches?”

I don’t know what your experience is, but I think you’re missing out on common experiences for many people. The GCB pastor didn’t “steal” anything. He took lilterature that was available to take as an idea for his church’s newsletter.

As I said before, my wife is a church secretary, and if you don’t think this goes on all the time, you must not have any exposure to what goes on in a church office. I wrote a set of lyrics for a sermon series on The Seven Deadly Sing using Gilliigan’s Island characters as the representatives of the sins. My pastor took the idea from another pastor’s online sermon. He put his sermons up on the church’s website and, lo and behold, my lyrics have now been used in multiple churches throughout the U.S. This kind of “stealing” goes on all the time. Why are you getitng so bent out of shape at GCB using it is a minor plot point?

” This is the second post that has made these claims with no evidence. If this is all true, just name the church. And then I would ask, why would you be attending a church like this if it were so off the rails?”

Did I say EVERYBODY in my church acts this way? No. In a group of 400-plus people, you think you won’t have a few people operating this way? If so, you’re deceiving yourself.

“Christians sin. Christians hurt each other. No doubt. But this shows goes out of its way to portray Christians in the worst light. And the point is that on GCB, there are NO Christian characters who display any hint of Biblical Christianity. None.”

Wrong. The woman who starts a business to be a helpmeet to her husband when his business is failing, the man who refuses to sleep with his girlfriend until they are married even if it means the end of the relationship, the man who holds the line and doesn’t let the squabbling women back into the sanctuary until they agree to love one another and live in true Christian spirit… these are all characters on the same show you’re attacking. I think you’re only seeing what you choose to see.

“Okay, so even though a show can ridicule Christianity the real blasphemers are those who try to defend Christianity.”

Boy, are you off track… the show doesn’t ridicule Christianity. You made that leap. It pokes fun at people behaving badly who hold themselves out as Christians. That’s a horse of different color.

Was Lucy on I Love Lucy a bad wife? Was that show ridiculing all American wives? Of course not. Lucy was funny because she wanted to be a good wife but she also wanted to be in the limelight and she failed comically at all her attempts to get what she wanted. That’s a common theme in all comedy.

I really think you’re being overly sensitive and seeing demons where there are only clowns. In fact, I don’t think calling GCB “Gross Christian Blesphemy” represents Christians well. I’m more embarrassed by your article title than anything I’ve seen on GCB itself. That’s why I originally decided to comment.

You have your opinion, but as you can see from the responses here, your opinion isn’t shared by all Christians. That’s all I wanted to point out. You’re barking up the wrong tree here, in my opinion.

    Have a blessed day.

Just wanted to correct a couple of things. In the episode with the church play, the woman playing the Holy Spirit was indeed in a very, very low cut, tight fitting outfit. It was the character who was initially playing the dead Lazarus who was wrapped in cloths.

Additionally, it was indeed the closeted gay husband playing the living Lazarus who was the star of the play, not the husband who was playing Jesus who was off to the side.

It is a show of true love and respect, not a love based on lust.
The wife knows that her husband is gay and ribs him about his boyfriends, yet they are both entirely devoted to each other.
A perfect team, just like my wife and I.
It’s a great portrayal that many can learn from.
      God Bless! 😀

I never watched the show. I heard about it from a family member and to be honest, the name of the show seemed disturbing to me it turned me off before I could see it.

On another note, I just want to say some things should not be made fun of. I believe religion is one of them. No matter what you are.. Christian, Muslim etc.. There’s a reason most companies strictly impose prohibition with discussing politics and religion in the workplace. Some people get offended because their spiritual beliefs are near and dear to their heart and it hurts.

But more and more we see Hollywood ..the movies, in our music they will go to any lengths of shock value to get people to watch and pay attention, even If it means disrespecting God. Just another form of desensitization if you ask me.

I noticed in the article that u had alot to say about Muslims but not much about Jews who are the real Christ haters and most likely creators of the show. Hollywood is filled with Jews and they r the ones who promote Muslim hatred in movies and push Christian stereotypes and mockery. The Jews who follow the Talmud are the ones who r evil but the Torah following Jews r the chosen people of God who will be given a chance to accept Christ at the end of the world. Again what r your thoughts on the current Jews who r behind shows like GCB and the latest 666 park avenue series?

      Hi Matt,

Thanks for your comments. I think you misunderstood my point regarding Muslims. When i said that a show like this would not be made about Islam, that was not a put down of the Muslim community. It was an observation of the current political climate in this nation. As for who the real “Christ haters” are there is no specific ethnic group that fits that bill. The Biblical truth is that “Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.” – Romans 8:7. Anyone who is not born again is at war with or in enmity with God.

I don’t look to one specific group as the New World Order “leaders.” At the head of all this working against God’s plan is Satan and his angelic beings. That is the real conspiracy. Those in powerful positions are just following their lead by raging and imagining a vain thing. So my thoughts on any Jewish people or anyone involved with the show is that they see the light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, repent and have eternal life. God bless.

WOW….. It never ceases to amaze me how so many professing “Christians” are biblically illiterate and lacking in spiritual discernment. Defending sin under the guise of love does nobody any good. It just continues to fill church buildings with goats that think they are sheep. Sadly, there are many goats that responded to this article.

JW & JAMECCIA please continue to earnestly contend for the faith as you have so done… The harvest is plentiful but the labourers are few and the world needs labourers right now that will tell them the truth, not propagate this false gospel of false love that has become so popular in our current society. Real love is telling people the true gospel, not that they are ok living in their sins.

You mentioned in one of the posts of this discussion that perhaps Christianity was the wrong choice. The sinful picture painted by so many people calling themselves Christians I agree that puts Big Doubts in one’s heart about the Veracity of the whole religion.
Yet, I wanted to also say that it sounds like you never truly met Christ Jesus face to face. What do I mean by that? In order to follow the teaching of the New Testament, you must truly be filled with the power of God.
Also, I wanted to share a little story I heard today in church about how an unbeliever in Jesus met Him head on. The unbeliever was probably a criminal man, because one day he expected a delivery of a suitcase full of money to a particular bus/train station. That same day a Christian man was at the same station picking up his suitcase and by some strange accident picked up the one with the money. He went home and to his amazement found lots of money and a business card at the bottom of the suitcase. He dialed the number and asked the man on the other side whether he lost a suitcase and after a long pause he heard the answer, “yes, that’s my suitcase”. The Christian told that man to come and pick up his baggage the next day. When the “gangster” arrived all the money was intact and he even offered a big portion of it to the Christian man, but he refused and instead told the “gangster” to give that money as offering after the church service. The “gangster” of course showed up in church that week end. He met the real Christ face to face through the actions of that believer.
Unless Jesus was real in the life of that Christian, he would’ve never given back the expensive suitcase.
I hope you’ll have such an honor to meet the real risen Christ and be sealed with His Holy Spirit.

I thought the show was funny because one it is making fun of the ones who call themselves christian but do things that are very unchristian like. I have yet to meet any christian that actually follows a christian lifestyle

      Hi Childofra,

Thanks for your comments. I am curious though. What is a “Christian lifestyle”?

    Well beginning and end,

A christian lifestyle would be one that follows the word of god. I see like of people say they do but actions speak louder than words.

GCB is similar to critiques offered on of the behaviors of people from Benny Hinn,Creflo Dollar and Jim Bakker, with far less humor, ribald or otherwise.
