Ariana Grande’s God Is A Woman video is full of blasphemous and occultic references.
In one of the most openly blasphemous videos to date, pop star Ariana Grande’s new hit song “God Is A Woman” features the singer disrespecting the Christian faith repeatedly with overtly sexualized lyrics and dancing. The song which is supposedly an ode to female empowerment uses blasphemous lyrics and imagery to promote the false notion that a woman’s power and importance is achieved through fornication and explicit sex appeal. To the point that if someone were to fornicate with Grande, they would then see her as “god.” Sadly, millions of people in society are falling for this deception even if it means insulting and attacking the God of the Bible.
An Ode To Fornication
“Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are [these]; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness…of the which I tell you before, as I have also told [you] in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.” – Galatians 5:19-21
“Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” – 1 Corinthians 6:18-20.
From the lyrics of the song it is obvious that it is nothing more than Ariana Grande glorifying fornication and inviting the listener to lust for her:

With numerous blasphemous references, Ariana Grande compares fornication to prayer and saving one’s soul. And ultimately, fornication with her will lead a man to believe that she is in fact, God.
The repeated message of the God Is A Woman video is that fornication and overt sexuality is the key to power and “godhood.”
The notion of sex magick was popularized by Satanist Aleister Crowley. He referred to fornication as “the supreme magical power.” The idea that a higher state of consciousness or godhood could be achieved or unlocked by sexual ritual:
“Sex is the supreme sacrament, wherein the body and blood are offered up to the soul. The elements thereof must be worthy, their consecration absolute…” – Aleister Crowley, The Revival Of Magick.
Crowley was an ardent enemy of the Christian faith and blasphemed The Lord regularly in his writings:
Additionally, Crowley advocated sadistic acts such as child sacrifice (“Magick In Theory And Practice, Chapter XII). The writing of Crowley, particularly his Book of The Law and mantra “Do as thou wilt is the whole of the law” has inspired the entertainment industry for decades. The basic premise is that a person can do whatever they want – exerting their own will on the universe to fulfill their lusts and desires.
Sadly, the entertainment industry has hijacked notion of a positive female identity by promoting sexual promiscuity as the path to true equality. Unashamed fornication and flaunting of sexuality is propped up as being a “strong woman.” Ariana Grande made this clear when asked about the meaning of the video:
“Sex is empowering. It’s the source of all life. P—– is privilege.” (source).

The video for God Is A Woman is filled with shots Grande in barely any clothes (or naked in body paint) writhing seductively in front of the camera. The Bible warns about the wicked promotion of fornication – something the pop music of today has been built on as numerous mega stars parade around stage in underwear gyrating and making odes to enticing sinful lust in their millions of followers. The book of Proverbs issues several stern warnings:
“To deliver thee from the strange woman, even from the stranger which flattereth with her words; Which forsaketh the guide of her youth, and forgetteth the covenant of her God. For her house inclineth unto death, and her paths unto the dead.” – Proverbs 2:16-18
“To keep thee from the evil woman, from the flattery of the tongue of a strange woman. Lust not after her beauty in thine heart; neither let her take thee with her eyelids. For by means of a whorish woman a man is brought to a piece of bread: and the adultress will hunt for the precious life.” – Proverbs 6:24-26
‘Ye Shall Be As Gods’ – The Original Deception Of The Devil
Ariana Grande repeatedly portrays herself as a goddess ruling Earth through sinful rebellion.
“Now the serpent was more [subtle] than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.” – Genesis 3:1-5
In Genesis 3, Satan was able to deceive Eve into believing that if she disobeyed God and ate from the Tree of The Knowledge of Good and Evil she would be “as gods.” The entire deception that led to the first sin in human history was premised on the idea that The Lord was withholding hidden “knowledge” from Eve and her husband which could allow them to evolve and transcend their current existence and become godlike. Of course, this turned out to be a lie – rather than becoming like divine beings, Adam and Eve hid in guilt and shame from their disobedience and were banished from the Garden and suddenly acutely aware of their mortality.

In the image below, Grande appears in the midst of a candle’s flame. Isaiah 14 refers to the Devil as “Lucifer” the “Light Bearer.”
Candle flame is increasingly popular for conjuring spells in Wicca and other goddess-based occult practices.
Candle flames are a major tool in witchcraft, wicca and the occult. And it can even be seen invoked casually in the tradition of making a wish over birthday candles. As one female-centric witchcraft site states:

Pagan religions like Wicca have gained a great appeal in recent years as they appeal to feminism and the woman’s rights movement. Just as Ariana Grande promotes fornication, promiscuity and filthy behavior as “empowerment” so too has witchcraft become perceived as a movement for women’s equality and independence. One major newspaper even raised the questions with the headline: “Are Witches The Ultimate Feminists?” (source).
The 2018 VMA Performance – Blasphemy Against The Lord Jesus Christ
Ariana Grande put herself in the position of Jesus Christ in her blasphemous performance at the 2018 MTV VMA awards.
If there were any doubt as to the anti-Christian nature of Ariana Grande’s song, they were removed after her performance at the MTV VMA awards. Grande opened her performance of God Is A Woman with a recreation of Leonardo Da Vinci’s Last Supper painting.
And of course Grande was in the center of the table in the role of Jesus Christ while her scantily clad female dancers depicted the disciples. As one article wrote:
“On stage with 50 other female dancers, Grande embodied a Christ-like figure by seating herself at the middle of a long table, leaning against the woman seated to her right. As the song kicked in, Grande and her all-female crew lithely moved from pose to pose. It’s sexy, it’s evocative, and…hands down the most creative and exciting performance of the night. Grande’s number created a message of unity and a goddess-like power of the divine feminine.” (source).
Another article summed up the performance by saying it was “Basically Our New Religion.” (source).
As the song continued the half-naked women started writhing suggestively on the table, provocatively touching themselves and each other. To take a depiction of the Messiah and mock the Christian faith is an insult the extreme. The Bible says of blasphemy:
“Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” – Galatians 6:7
In the background of the stage were pillars reminiscent of a masonic board or pagan temple. All the while symbols of Kabbalah were emblazoned on a digital screen for the world to see:
The pagan and occult influences in Ariana Grande’s God Is A Woman performance were blatant.
The Kabbalah Connection
Kabbalah, a form of Jewish mysticism, has become wildly popular with the Hollywood entertainers. Ariana Grande is on record stating that she abandoned her Catholic faith and adopted Kabbalah as a teenager because of her brother, who is homosexual:
“Grande was raised a Catholic, but in adolescence began questioning her faith out of love and support for her brother, who is gay. ‘When my brother was told that God didn’t love him I was like, “OK, that’s not cool.” They were building a Kabbalah centre in Florida so we both checked it out and really had a connection with it.’
The Kabbalah movement – Madonna is its most high-profile adherent – ‘sort of stuck with me. And since then my life has unfolded in a really beautiful way, and I think that it has a lot to do with the tools I’ve learnt through Kabbalah, I really do.’
Asked to explain those tools she is hesitant, not to say bashful. But eventually she says that ‘you have to watch your intentions, make sure you’re not giving in to your ego. You have to numb your reactive state. You have the power to change your reality,’ she says, clapping her hands together. ‘You have to take a second and breathe and reassess how you want to approach or react to a situation or approach an obstacle, or deal with a negative person in your space. That takes a lot of self-control and practice and, I guess, willpower,’ she concludes with an embarrassed laugh.” (source).
Kabbalah is very esoteric practice with multiple interpretations. But at its core it is a means of transcending the material world and entering the metaphysical or spiritual realm – the same goal of any form of witchcraft. In Kabbalistic lore Adam and Eve received special knowledge in the Garden of Eden which they then lost. Kabbalah is a way back to receiving that knowledge. In fact, the main symbol – dubbed The Tree of Life – is a supposed road map back to this:

Pop legend Madonna does a voiceover, based on Ezekiel 25:
“And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my sisters. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee.”
The blasphemous proclamation was a thinly-veiled threat against the Supreme Court and anyone who would oppose abortion – which along with fornication has become a symbol of “women’s empowerment.”

God Is Male – Beware of The End Times Gender Neutral Apostasy
The Bible warns us to not changes its world to fit the tastes or trends of today.
“Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.” – Proverbs 30:5-6.
“And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.” – Jesus Christ, Luke 11:2.
“God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:” – Hebrews 1:1-3
The Bible is abundantly clear that God is male – Although the Father Is Spirit, and The Holy Ghost Is Spirit, The Lord’s identity is male. When God took on human flesh, He came as a male. Jesus Christ is the “express image” of God. He is the “fulness of the Godhead bodily.” (Colossians 2:9).
Any teaching to the contrary is not simply Biblical error: it is an assault on the inerrant truth of the Word of God itself. Satan seeks to confuse and distort God’s Word and message to deceive and alienate as many people from God’s loving salvation as possible. And pop culture stars have been willing servants to the message of the true enemy of humanity. The elevation of female entertainment stars as “divas” – which is another term for goddess, underscores this subtle movement.
The God Is A Woman video emphasizes the use of sexuality to elevate women over men.
Sadly, many churches, pastors and Christian organizations have jumped onto this trend. Beginning And End previously detailed the Church of Sweden’s move to use gender neutral language for God, including referring to the Holy Spirit as a “she” or “sister.” The Episcopal Church is also moving to remove masculine language for God such as “King.” The ‘Our Bible’ app is described as “pro women”, “gay affirming and provides transgender interpretations of Scripture. Recently, the Southern Baptist Convention released the Christian Standard Bible – its own translation which ignores the Greek and Hebrew gender root hundreds of times in favor of inserting gender-neutral language. And of course ignoring the very stern warnings from God forbidding anyone from changing His Word:
“Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.” – Proverbs 30:5-6.
“Now therefore hearken, O Israel, unto the statutes and unto the judgments, which I teach you, for to do them, that ye may live, and go in and possess the land which the Lord God of your fathers giveth you. Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.” – Deuteronomy 4:1-2
The Book of Revelation carries an even more dire warning;
“For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.” – Revelation 22:18-19
There is nothing wrong with being a strong, confident woman in Christ.
All these efforts to alter God’s Word in order to fit in with the times open the door for humanity to question, challenge and “reshape” God in the image we see fit. It removes the healthy fear of The Lord all people should have and replaces it with an idol – a re-imagined version of God and the Christian faith that is may be popular and trendy but is altogether apostate. Do not be deceived.
This wrong message has instead led to a generation of young women who have eagerly shed their clothes, gyrated in front of cameras and use their sexuality to attract attention, men, money or fame (or at least attempt) by any means. Rather than being “empowered” they have degraded themselves search for wealth and love in the wrong way. The Bible says:
“Who find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies…Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness. She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.
Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all. Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.” – Proverbs 31:10; 25-30.
Notice in the passage above what is valued in a woman – virtue. Having Godly traits – kindness, wisdom, honestly, faithfulness, modesty (both inner and outer). All this comes from having a relationship with God. It comes from knowing God’s Word. This is how a strong, empowered woman is described in Scripture. Interestingly, Proverbs 31 includes many references to a Godly woman being industrious, making money and even owning her own business. And it closes with a stern warning: “favour is deceitful and beauty is vain.” Society today preaches the exact opposite: beauty and fame are everything and worst sacrificing everything in your life for – even your very soul. Ariana Grande took it an even more extreme level by elevating fornication into this sinful equation. Do not be deceived.
Pray For Revival
Biblical Christianity has no fear of telling the world the truth: we are depraved, fallen sinners who have opposed God in our heart, mind and actions. We are guilty and in desperate need of supernatural intervention to rescue us from a sure sentence of eternity in the Lake of Fire. And God did just that by sending His Son Jesus Christ to die for our sins. So many women, girls, men and boys alike are looking for love above everything. And God proved His love by sending Christ to stand in our place and take the punishment we rightfully deserve. In Christ not only are we saved from Hell we are freed from a life of bondage to sin.
We have equality in Christ:
“For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.” – Galatians 3:27-28
We have acceptance:
“To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.” – Ephesians 1:6
We have eternal life:
“And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.” – 1 John 2:25
Pray that Ariana Grande, Madonna and the entertainment industry will open their eyes to the truth of God’s Word and repent for their promotion of sinful rebellion. And pray for the many millions of fans of this music and these entertainment stars who have been deceived by their false Gospel. God is real and is Male and will judge all of us. Lord willing the many fans of this song and video will come to know Him and His proven Love.
This is a prime example of how people continue to be deceived in these last days. Ignorance runs rampant in today’s Church, as those who continue to slumber, taking little thought of their own elected destination, taking with them their loved one’s.
There is a horrible price being paid for the volitional choice we make in denying God’s Word.

Hello John. It is great to read your post. It shows that you read God’s Word and want to grow. Our salvation is not a degree of enlightenment. It is a gift of God, from Him, by Him for and to us. We are saved by grace through faith, not of works so that we cannot boast of our righteousness. All we can and want to boast of is God and how much He loves us. Ephesians 2: 8-10; Philippians 1 & 2 and verses like John 3: 16: God loves you so much, John (not only you, but I use your name for the purpose of application and comfort), that he gave his only eternally begotten Son (our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ) to pay the price for all your sin and that He, Jesus, would become the full sacrificial payment for your sin, so that when you believe in Him you will not perish but you John will have eternal life. Be blest. I agree with you that this site is a call to wake up and take God’s Word for what it means so that we can spread His love around and not keep guessing about who God is and what He is like. This is a great web resource of incredible relevance. Please note that The Bible does not say God is male. God does not have sexual definition since He is Spirit. The Bible does identify God in male language by which God Himself calls Himself Father, Son and Holy Spirit, 3 persons in 1… While God does use feminine identifies, they are only use as similes: ‘God is like a mother hen’… As you imply, virtually say, to say otherwise than that God is Father, ‘Our Heavenly Father,’ is heretical. That is how we are to address him. To move away from addressing God as Father is to assault the very first commandment, the Great Shema of Deuteronomy 6: 1-4, and the Creedal statements that summarize the teaching of scripture as a positive confession of faith and as a warning that to step away from them is to move into heretical teaching. It is also a blatant move toward pagan idolatry and the worship of female deities such as Diana and other sex and fertility goddesses. B&E – we can only speak of the 2nd person of the Trinity as male. For sure you are right that we do not emphasize that enough in contemporary world theology against the backdrop of political correctness. However, we cannot confuse the persons of the Trinity and say that the Father and the Holy Spirit are thereby male. Only the Son did all that you said. It was not the Father or the Holy Spirit who did those things, or we end up with the heresies like patripassianism and arianism. I am pretty rusty on these topics due to my health. Gnosticism is the dominant heresy today. (Many Televangelists teach Gnosticism. Some may even teach Doectism if they say that God only seemed to take on human flesh because God cannot suffer and die. It is correct that God cannot suffer and die. That is precisely the reason for The Son of God taking on human flesh that He may suffer and die to make atonement for our sin, as our vicarious substitute.)

The Son of God has subsumed physical form as a male. He now sits and reigns with God the Father and the Holy Spirit as fully God and fully man. However in the mystery of The Trinity He alone can be said to be man who is male.

What I find now is that many professors and bishops are run off their feet such that they have no time for engagement. Consequently they are not addressing the issues you are addressing. It is a wrong sense of what is of first importance. The issues you raise have taken residence amongst the people of God.

I would not want to argue with you. There does remain a gender-sex issue, but you seek to be true to scripture. I am giving away the best part of $75k of books, still keeping JND Kelly on Doctrine, as well as popular books on heiresses among others till I am well enough to cope. Unfortunately, there remains a gender-sex clarity that is beyond me, but you are right if you lay them aside with ‘even though they are not “men” in the sense that Christ is.’ Thank you for being determined and Berean. Some TV preachers carry on with Jesus being adopted as God, or as not performing miracles as the Son of God, but purely by him putting aside his Godhead and trusting the Holy Spirit – how can God stop being God, and what would the point of His dying on the cross if He did not die as God, never ceasing to be God in death, especially as death is not the cessation of existence but separation from God. It was in that state that Jesus as God went to ‘prison to proclaim victory to the pre-flood spirits in prison (2 Peter 2; 3 & Jude). You really are to be commended for your due diligence.

I have this last summary thoughts that belongs somewhere above within the paragraphs I have written. I agree with what are clearly your concerns, which are that we do not change the gender language of The Bible concerning God. We get our image from and speak of God in human terms because we are created by Him to reflect Him, not because we impose patriarchal language on Him as though He reflects us as humanity, particularly males.

I think that his opening sentences are helpful. In this link he is speaking about Genesis 1: 26,27. He says in regard to the Hebrew words for God, ‘El’ and Elohim,’ that Hebrew plural nouns can end with ‘im’ if they are masculine. This reinforces that God as Father and Spirit reveals Himself in primarily masculine terminology without our attributing sex to him since He remains a spirit being. We therefore use
anthropomorphisms to speak of God, but cannot go beyond what the Scriptures says as if to attribute to God The Father and Holy Spirit identifying sexual organs and specific human gender sexual biological qualities. This means that we need to appreciate that the concept of person-hood is derived from God through His creation of humanity, and that language used of Him by Himself in Scripture is not a human imposition on an ancient religious text which we call The Holy Bible. Rather we derive our person-hood from God as both male and female.
With that thought in mind, it seems clear that the bridal image concerning Adam, Israel and the Church which are said to be ‘The Bride of Christ’ must take on deeper and richer meaning. In the New Heaven and New Earth, The New Creation, men and women will not be given in marriage to each other, but the Church will be given in marriage to Christ, The Son of God. This is a mystery to me and all, and becomes an even stronger reason for protecting the language of God as Father who created the Heavens and the Earth, as opposed to some fertility goddess birthing the earth or mating with Gaia, mother earth. When we leave the door open to such ideas we spawn all kinds of blasphemous heresies such as you are addressing.

Christian language we use about God is not culturally or historically bound. It is God’s universal self-attributed description of Himself. He is not an ‘it,’ and His self-revelation of Himself is not based on patriarchal cultures, which you are otherwise correct to say that such cultures often did treat women as ‘its.’
God,’ that is the one true (which is redundant since there is only one God who is the true God), Triune God is reverently spelt with a capital ‘G’ when referring to him, and a small ‘g’ when referring to false gods or ‘the sons of God’ being ‘gods’ Psalm 82; Deut 32; John 10.
God is not a literary device which is what ‘genre’ refers to, but in my poor health I am struggling to think the word to differentiate between sexes. I looked it up: gender.
Judaeo-Christian belief concerning God is that He is not the vain imagination of humans who needed to be attributed a gender so that we can speak of Him. Rather, God pre-exists all that is in creation and chose to make humanity, referring in the first instance to man and woman Adam and Eve, then all of mankind to follow them in His Image. Thus, when He created Adam and Eve as the first people, they reflected His Divine Image. The male gender given to Adam was the deliberate mirroring of God’s Divine Fatherhood. A feminine characteristic is attributed to God in various OT & NT scripture verses. The better known is when Jesus characterised God’s love for Jerusalem as that like a mother hen. However, no person of the Trinity is referred to by the use of a feminine noun or pronoun, ‘mother or she.’
God declares by His self-revealation that He is ‘Our Father’ about whom we are to speak reverently and to whom we can pray. We are not to speak of God as ‘Our Mother,’ or as ‘female’ because that would be to invent an idol, thereby making a false god. That would be to move in the direction of a fertility cult.
This forum is correct to use masculine language of God, despite my difference with it about whether we are able to ‘genderise’ God or not. My concern is only that we do not say more about the nature of God than Scripture does, nor say enough about His nature and consequently fail to warn people against making idols of God, contradicting God’s own self-revelation, or inventing a god.
I have not done further study on this question, but I have given it consistent thought. The question is as to gender: if God self-identifies in all three persons as masculine, as Father, as Son and as ‘He’ in reference to the Holy Spirit, then we cannot neuter his gender. That means he identifies as male and therefore is male. It then becomes improper to say otherwise. To do so is to go against His Word. That does not mean we attribute sexual genitalia to God’ the Father’s and the Holy Spirit’s masculinity, but must accept that since Jesus was fully male as a man and therefore had male genitalia, we are wrong to argue further about God’s self-identification as male. We are forbidden to pointless arguments over the meaning of words. None of this debate can be used to support a gender-neutral God, because that is a meaningless argument (Timothy in the NT), and humanity gets its identity from God, not vice-versa. I hope this is helpful to others and not just me.
