As we correctly predicted in our article and radio show last week, Harold Camping’s May 21st Doomsday Date came and went with no Rapture or Judgment Day. Both reports explained why Camping was going to be wrong. In addition to being a false prophet, he is in grave spiritual error on a number of important Biblical truths. For all the mocking that is going this weekend, there much disagreements among Christians over the timing of the Rapture. But the fact of the matter is, all Christians who research the Rapture know that regardless of what their position is, that belief will not get them to Heaven. It’s faith in Christ Jesus that does.
And this is why we should pray for Camping and his followers. Not just for hopes that were crushed, the money spent, the retirement savings that were thrown away on ad campaigns, but for the simple fact that Camping does not even preach the Gospel. His ministry does not even preach who Jesus truly is (the Son of God and God in the flesh) and he has a number of other errors that he preaches on a regular basis. So let’s pray for a time of repentance by Camping and healing for his certainly shocked and disappointed followers.
And for those who are looking at Christianity as non-believers and laughing hard: why make fun of these people? What good is there in laughing at the misfortune of another. And more importantly, know that the Bible does guarantee something: a day is coming when many, many people will be deceived into following a man who seems like he has all the answers. He will be persuasive and amazing in the eyes of much of the world. And people will want him to lead them into a “New Age.” This man is the Antichrist. So while the delusion of May 21st has passed, there is a much bigger one on the way. Guaranteed. There is going to be a time of judgment. But in Jesus Christ, those who are born again, have nothing to worry about or fear. Because the real Rapture will make sure all believers are protected when Judgment Day comes.
Luke 21:36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
