Acts 4:13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.
At Pentecost Peter preached The Word boldly and passionately. his faith had been renewed as the Holy Spirit indwelled in him. And the remarkable thing is that the people who were listening were not just amazed, they knew that he and John had been with Jesus.
This can be a lesson for our own lives. With the amount of people we speak to or encounter in any given week, how many leave saying, “wow, he/she is really into Jesus and their faith!” How many marvel at our passion for The Word? If someone was to ask 10 people who know you “what is the most important thing [insert your name]’s life?” would that friend say that the answer is your salvation in Christ?
As born again believers, our Savior and Coming King Jesus Christ literally sends the Holy Spirit to indwell in us to testify of Him (John 15:26). We need to spend our time approaching the Throne of The Lord (in prayer) showing that we are studying His Word, seeking and serving Him daily. We are now ambassadors of Christ and should preach his Word just as boldly as the Apostles. So much so that when people speak to us, they know that we have indeed been with The Lord, and are living our lives as living sacrifices to him to glorify His Name. And the people, if and when they see that devotion, love and faith, will definitely marvel at it.
