Is it possible that Adam Lanza was worshiping the Devil?
In the aftermath of the horrific Sandy Hook Elementary school shooting, a picture of just who killer Adam Lanza was is starting to surface. And based on the early reports, it’s possible that he was on a dark road that opened him up to a host of evil spiritual influences.
Was Adam Lanza A Satan Worshiper?
The UK Daily Mail first broke the story:
The Sandy Hook gunman worshiped the devil and had an online page dedicated to Satan, a former classmate revealed, as his childhood barber recalls Adam Lanza never spoke and would stare at the floor every time he had his hair cut.
Lanza’s worshiping page had the word ‘Devil’ written in red, Gothic-style letters against a black background, Trevor L. Todd told The National Enquirer, something which he said was ‘weird’ and ‘gave him the chills’.
The FBI are trying to piece together his smashed up hard drive to see if his online footprint will reveal any motive for the killing, but they strongly believe he made use of devil-worshiping and suicide sites and boasted of his murder plans on message forums. (source)
The Bible is clear that dabbling in the occult or any practices involving Satan is a clear sin and should be avoided:
There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch. Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee. – Deuteronomy 18:10-12.
God made such strong restrictions against these activities because they ultimately lead to contacting demons and fallen angels who are a part of Satan’s network in the spirit realm. These are beings far older, more powerful and deceptive than humans understand. And their main goal is to destroy humanity and bring as many people away from The Lord as possible. Jesus Christ said of Satan: ” He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.” (John 8:44).
The Death Culture of Violent Video Games
According to reports, Adam Lanza played the first person shooter game Call of Duty for hours every day.

For hours on end, alone in his windowless basement den, Adam Lanza studied photos of guns and obliterated virtual victims in violent video games — until the virtual became a reality.
The unhinged Sandy Hook Elementary School gunman was enthralled by blood-splattering, shoot-’em-up electronic games, which he played in the basement of his mother’s spacious $1.6 million home in Newtown, Conn., according to a person familiar with the layout.
Lanza, 20, especially liked “Call of Duty” — a wartime role-playing game where participants use high-powered assault rifles, machine guns and other weapons to slaughter scores of people, according to a published report. (source)
As Beginning and End detailed in our article on the video game Lucius (where you play the role of the Antichrist), many video games today our flooding the minds of children, youth and adults with ultra-violent imagery, graphic death and dismemberment and a reward system that is solely based on “kill count” – the total amount of people you can murder in a given game. “Call of Duty”, a first person view, military game in which players kill hundreds of virtual enemies per sitting, using high powered assault rifles, is one of the most popular games in the death culture genre. And according to reports, Lanza was obsessed with it, spending hours every day in the basement of his mother’s house playing the virtual shooting game. Success in the video game is entirely based on the maximum people you can kill – and who, in very high detailed graphics, have limbs fly off, blood splatter and other gruesome images flashing on the screen at a rapid rate.
Call of Duty puts the player directly behind a gun killing people for hours on end.
When a person is already in sinful rebellion of the occult and then immersing themselves in violent fantasies of killing for hours each day, the potential for evil spiritual influence is even greater. If these reports are true, Lanza was setting himself up each day for something more sinister to take place. The Bible teaches that sin is a downward spiral, getting worse as the person continues in sin with no repentance and no regard for The Lord. The Book of James describes the ultimate end of this process:
But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. – James 1:14-15.
The final piece of news is that Adam Lanza is that he may have possibly been on psychotropic drugs. According to news reports, Lanza was taking medication for Asperger syndrome since age 10. Jennifer Huettner, Lanza’s teacher for three years, also confirmed that he had Asperger syndrome. Though it is not clear if and what treatment he had during the time of the shooting.
The human heart, on its own is home to the sin nature that all people posses. Jeremiah 17 says: ” The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” This is why protecting one’s mind and life from evil influences is so important. It is impossible to point to one specific aspect of Lanza’s life as the reason for his killing spree. But there is no question that strong forces of evil were at work in his heart that led to sinful desires which he unfortunately yielded to. If a person continues in sin and tried to contact or channel demonic forces, they can and will eventually overtake the person and lead to any manner of atrocity.
What can be pointed to is the one solution for the human heart: the Gospel of Jesus Christ. continue in prayer for the victims of this shooting tragedy and for those who may be considering committing a homicidal spree themselves right now. Pray for the hearts of future Adam Lanzas and all people who are at odds with the Lord to resist the Devil and seek peace and true joy in Jesus Christ. Many people are hurting, suffering and feel neglected. And reaching them with the Gospel cannot only save their souls eternally but it could also potentially spare the lives of others.
I agree w/ the written word of truth by God. Getting involved w/ these video games open the doors to all sort of spiritual attacks. However, this young man was a pawn in a very twisted attempt to disarm the American people. He was not the one that killed all those children and adults. I believe there is much more to this story than meets the eye, especially when viewed through mainstream media.

Look at the caliber rifle he used .223 Bushmaster, coincidentally the Fireman shootings were carried out by the exact same brand and caliber rifle!

This article is horribly moronic. Could it be he had devil stuff because he was crazy? No that would make too much sense. Instead he has to actually worship the devil.
Also in case you didn’t know, literally millions of adults, teenagers and kids play Call of Duty. To single out this case and then try to link the 2 as having some kind of correlation doesn’t make sense. That’s like saying he wore shoes so wearing shoes must mean you are a murderer. You want to think that the game is bad and use a tragedy to push you ideals on people and it’s honestly pretty sick.
For you last point, again you seem to be seeing something and then trying to make it fit what you want it to.I think it’s pretty clear that having a mental illness and then taking medication for it is a common thing. A few cases of mentally ill individuals doing something bad is not evidence that medication leads to that behavior. If anything it points to the fact that more research needs to be done in it to help the few that aren’t getting the right treatment.
Violent video games were not the lone culprit leading to the breakdown of this young man. He was obviously left alone by parents who did not care to know what he was doing- absent parenting is the downfall of society. Left to his own devices, he chose to fill his life with devil worship, blood and guts images that desensitized him to things that might be bad. I have not let my young son play violent video games for a reason- so his mind is not poisoned by images of death and blood. The same way my wife and I guard his eyes against nudity and pornographic images- they poisoned my mind as a child and I had a very skewed and disrespectful view of women, until I came to know Christ. People will do what feels good to them, and with no Holy Spirit to fill that void they try to fill, Satan gets a foothold and uses everything we fill our heads with to bring as many down with him as possible. So your “moronic” description of this article is a little moronic itself.
No bad people will do what feels good to them. The mentally impaired will do what feels good to them. Normal people have the ability and intellect to reason what is morally ok. It wasn’t the porn that made you disrespectful to women, it was your inability to understand how to treat another human being. Violent video games do not cause one to become desensitized towards violence, rather, bad people are drawn to the violence. Those same people 40 years ago were drawn to people like Hitler and read stories about him.
Bad people draw inspiration from things that others wouldn’t see in that way. I play some violent video games but I am completely against war. I watch porn but I also know how to treat a woman. I can tell the difference between right and wrong because I can reason when I hurt someone or do something that negatively effects them, I am being immoral. I don’t need a book that advocates genocide, slavery, sexism and other immoral behavior to tell me how I should live my life.
To rationalize video games as a factor into his breakdown is to do away with rationality. You cannot attribute his violent nature to video games or else the entire country would be in ruins. Instead it was his violent nature that caused him to seek out the violence and become inspired by it. He needed a better upbringing, on that we agree on, but what he did is something that only someone with mental instability could do. His actions go beyond moral corruption and he clearly needed better treatment than what he was getting.
My main point was that this kid, though 20 when he did the crime, comes from an absentee parent family. Given the freedom to choose, he chose to do what was wrong, and that choice led him down a path of evil and his parents were nowhere to step in and see any of this happening. The parents obviously, if he was actually mentally ill and that illness caused him to do what he did, did not give him or find the best treatment for him. Their best treatment was to let him sit in front of a video console for hours and hours of the day, as well as start a website on devil worship, and they couldn’t or wouldn’t see the signs. Parents like that are lazy. They give up too easy. I am not saying that my kids will grow up to be perfect, because they will not. I am an imperfect parent trying to instruct my kids, mental illness or not, to do the right thing, and to recognize what that right thing is, and I let God instruct me.. As for your life, I will not judge- God is the judge of all, and His judgment is righteous- our judgment is imperfect and flawed. Our decision making is flawed- if I were given up to live life myself, I would be doing wrong. I DO need a life instruction book- the Bible is it for me. I will not push my Christianity on anyone, or thump anyone over the head with it (though I will with my children because they are my responsibility to help them grow to adults- after that, they make their choices), but if anyone asks why I believe what I believe, I will tell them. I don’t agree with your life choices, but I like your honesty for not hiding them and being transparent.

I do believe video games are bad for kids but not for reasons in this article. Its addictive and making our children fat and lazy. We blame mcdonalds and large soda drinks. But we all know that kids now have it easy and when i was a kid i had to find my fun outside. Not on my rearend playing video games. FYI, success in Callof Duty is not made by how many you kill but getting from one pount to another without being killed. When you move up to a certain pointt the enemy is gone.
