In yet another sign of the rising apostasy in the Christian church – the prophesied falling away of many Christian from Bible-believing faith, in favor of a person-centered, unbiblical form of Christianity, Lifetime Network’s “Preacher’s Daughters” is returning for a second season. The show, which centers on 4 high-school aged daughters of pastors who are fixated on drinking, drugs and fornication, is a perfect example of how many modern-day Christian pastors are more focused on wealth and fame, that they would even embrace Satanic rebellion.
The Trailer
Here is a promo for season 2:
Why Would Any Pastor Come On This Show?
Beginning and End covered season 1 of this reality show in our article: “Lifetime Network’s Preacher’s Daughters: Church Girls Gone Wild.” In it we explained that the premise of the show – daughters who are facing sinful temptation while trying to avoid being caught by their pastor fathers – was against Biblical Christianity on numerous levels. Reality television is often centered on controversy and drama. The more outrageous and rebellious the cast are, the better the ratings and the closer they are to reaching the coveted second season, when the participants can really start earning significant money.
So these girls, by the nature of the show, were going to be put into situations where they would hopefully fall into temptation, cause trouble and provide entertainment for the masses of viewers. A teenage girl, even a Christian one, is likely to end up getting into sinful behavior one the cameras are rolling and the producers are encouraging them to behave badly. In the prior article we questioned why any pastor would do this to his own daughter. In listing the requirements for a pastor, the Apostle Paul is quite clear:
This is a true saying, if a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work. A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach; Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous; One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity; (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?) – 1 Timothy 3:1-5.
The moment a pastor has no control over his children, he is not fit for the job. The Scriptures are quite clear. Children of a pastor are supposed to be obedient and take their father seriously. Being able to properly raise and discipline your children is a foundational example and proof that a pastor can handle taking care of a church. Given this clear Biblical list of requirements, we must again ask: why would these pastors put their daughters in this situation where they are clearly being encouraged to sin?
Enter The New Girls – More Rebellion
And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. –Ephesians 6:4.
Without question, the level of rebellion has been “ramped up” for the second season. Heavy liquor drinking, drug use, cursing, blasphemy, bikini car washes and disrespect are just a sample of what the new season offers. The show is marketing sinful rebellion as entertainment. And once again, it’s clear, the daughters are being put in a position to be tempted with sin, all with a camera crew and team of producers ready to record every minute. And to ensure things would be spiced up, Preacher’s Daughters brought on two new ‘wild child’ girls into the fold:
“Megan Cassidy, 17, is a relative newcomer to the notion of being a preacher’s daughter. Her dad, Jeff Cassidy, is a former heavy drinking, heavy drug using heavy metal musician who turned to the ministry after he lost his custom manufacturing job of more than 20 years. The transition has been difficult for Jeff, but even more so for Megan, who is also known as “The Southern Belle Raisin’ Hell.”
Suddenly the clothes she wears, her attitude, and extra-curricular activities become the topic of conversation for her father’s congregation,” reads her Lifetime bio. “Sassy Megan is under everyone’s scrutiny, and she buckles under the pressure trying to find the balance between dealing with normal teenager pressures and also staying true to God and her congregation.”
Adding to the difficult transition is Megan’s brother Zac, 19, who is recovering from an addiction to prescription pills that played out very publicly in the church’s congregation. Zac has since completed two stints in rehab, but a potential relapse always weighs heavy on the hearts of his dad and mother, Darleen Cassidy.”(source).
Megan’s father, Jeff Cassidy, is the Associate Pastor of Worship at Lake Bowen Baptist Church. Again, we go back to the Biblical requirements for a pastor. With a daughter whose nickname promotes the fact that she is “raisin’ hell” and a son who is a recovering drug addict and is in relapse, does Cassidy sound like a man who has “his children in subjection with all gravity”? The issue of drug abuse among teens is a very serious one, and it is not easy for a parent to control the actions of a teen who has a strong desire to get involved in drugs. However, the Bible is clear that for that Dad, it is not the time to take on the mantle of pastor. And certainly not the time to invite a Hollywood reality film crew into your home to force contrived behavior, encourage arguing and bickering and put your children in positions of sinful temptation.
From the trailer, it is clear that Megan is also getting drunk, partying and showing up to church “hung over” (as stated by her father). What good is coming from showing this on television? What biblical purpose does this display? The disciples of Jesus Christ never shared the Gospel by telling tales of their “old sinful days.” They shared the Gospel by preaching The Word of God. Scripture is clear: ” So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” (Romans 10:17).
Here is a clip of Pastor Cassidy’s daughter at a church youth event. Is this conveying the good message the pastor wants others to see?
Scripture says: “In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety..” ( 1 Timothy 2:9). Megan constantly expresses a desire to either wear revealing clothes or no clothes at all. And uses her free time to get drunk. What spirit is leading a show that would allow a young girl to get into these situations all for entertainment? And the basis of her parent’s criticism of her is “people at church are watching.” Rather than point out the fact that God in Heaven is watching and she is in sinful rebellion, Cassidy, like the other preacher dads focus on public perception and their reputations as the reason their kids should behave.
In explaining his motivations for joining the show Pastor Cassidy adopts the same party line that has been repeated over and over again on heretical Christian reality television shows – people need to learn Christians are not perfect.Whether it is the Preachers of L.A. or The Sisterhood, this same reasoning is given to justify the raunchy, disrespectful and often inappropriate behavior:
“The things I want people to see and understand is church is not full of perfect people…And it’s staff members are just like anybody else,…Church is full of hypocrites as people say and that’s where hypocrites need to be. They need to be in church learning about Christ and God.. They’re normal fathers, they’re normal mothers, they’re normal teenagers and they’re dealing with a world out there today that will eat you up and spit you out.” (source).
The Bible instructs pastors to: “Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.” (1 Timothy 4:2). A pastor’s job is not prove to the world that he is a hypocrite. In fact a pastor should not be a hypocrite at all. No one is calling on pastors to be perfect. Biblical Christianity is premised on not being perfect – on the fact that all people {this author included) are sinners and will be judged by a perfect and Holy God. And that there is nothing we can do to save ourselves from God’s just wrath. But it is the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, who is perfect, when He died on the cross, that provides forgiveness to those who believe in Him.
The Bible says: “ But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8). Pastors are to preach that they, like everyone sitting in their congregations are sinners saved by God’s grace. They should not be dishonest hypocrites, but rather readily acknowledge their need for a Savior. The real hypocrisy is claiming to be trying to serve God while promoting all manner of sinful behavior on reality television. Pastor Cassidy is embarrassing his daughter and his family on television by showing Megan in these sinful scenarios. Proverbs 22:15 says: “Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him.” Rather than rewarding his daughter’s bad behavior by allowing her to become a “Reality TV celebrity”, Pastor Cassidy should have her off the big screen and in the Bible.
Tori Elliott is a 22-year-old wild child from New Orleans with a propensity for drinking and partying and an aversion to holding her tongue. Her hedonistic lifestyle hits a major roadblock however when she gets evicted from her apartment and is forced to move back in with mom and dad.
Tori’s dad is Kenny Elliott (seen in the photo above with Tori), the 56-year-old pastor of New Orleans’ 7th Day Adventist Church. Kenny is pretty lenient as far as preacher parents go, but he and wife Monique draw the line on some of Tori’s devil dealings. Monique, 46, has a similar approach to parenting, and is described on the show’s site as “the jolly and warm-hearted First Lady of the 7th Day Adventist Church in New Orleans.”
Tori also has a 16-year-old sister named Courtney, who so far doesn’t look to be following in her sister’s transgressionary footsteps. But that doesn’t mean Courtney doesn’t get caught up in some of Tori’s subterfuge! (source).
The worst display by far in the trailer for the show is that of Tori, who is shown drinking shots and lifting her skirt to flash a crowd in the city of New Orleans. The fact that a pastor would even allow this clip of his own daughter to be shown on television should be enough to disqualify him from the position But in the case of Pastor Kenny Elliot, her dad, he is given a TV contract with a chance for a big pay day.
As stated in his bio, Elliot is the pastor of a Seventh-Day Adventist Church, a denomination which is not at all in line with Biblical Christianity. The Seventh Day Adventists believe in a works-based Gospel, in which good actions are required to go to Heaven as opposed to Biblical Christianity which clearly teaches that a person is saved and forgiven for their sins by faith in Jesus Christ and that it is a free gift from God. Additionally, Seventh Day Adventists hold the teachings of their founder, Ellen G. White, on par with the Bible itself. This despite the fact that White is a proven false prophet, having incorrectly predicted the end of the world on more than one occasion, claims many unbiblical doctrines and embraces occult terminology and symbolism in her teachings. Her is an image of her tombstone:
Jesus Christ said:
Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. – Matthew 7:15-20.
If a pastor is preaching false doctrine, nothing good spiritually can come from it. And clearly, Elliot is in deep error to allow his own daughter to be exploited for a potential reality TV payoff. Tori’s own clearly shallow Biblical knowledge and irreverence for God is displayed as she says “Even Jesus liked to party” a statement of utter blasphemy as she tries to justify her ridiculous behavior. In another scene where she is getting a tattoo (against her parents wishes) she pretends to be Jesus talking using a curse word.
Proverbs chapter 1 says: “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.” Where is the fear of God or His judgment in such brazen, sinful statements? Especially coming from the oldest female on the show? Christian teenagers and young adults are not perfect. A Christian child can and will fall into sinful behavior, including, fornication, drinking, drugs, fighting and other very serious sins. However, if their attitude towards their sin is one of pride and an “I could care less about God” tone, then they clearly have received poor Biblical instruction. A Christian should feel convicted and guilty about their sin, at any age.
Making A Mockery of The Christian Faith
The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame. – Proverbs 29:15.
Taylor, the wild child from Season 1, is shown shooting a video for her song “Forbidden”, in which she moves a rosary bead necklace seductively around her scantily clad body and then bites an apple – a blatant reference to the Garden of Eden and Eve being deceived by Satan. Once again, for a pastor to allow his daughter to be filmed provocatively, wearing a mini-skirt, making a mockery of the first sin in the Garden of Eden, is utter blasphemy. Jesus Christ said of children: But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. (Matthew 18:6). It seems Pastor Coleman, by endorsing this type or promotion advertisement for his daughter to be in, is fully leading her into sin.
In response to criticism, Coleman is not concerned: “We’ve had some negative (reactions) from people but we don’t focus on them. When it’s all said and done if (people) communicate with their mothers, their fathers or their children we’ve done our job..It’s been a help to so many different ministers and preachers out here. We get so many different messages on Facebook on how they can’t wait to see next season and we have helped them talk to their children.” (source).
Notice there is no mention of the Gospel, sin or being responsible before God in his words. And he offers no apology for the exploitation of his daughter for monetary gain and fame. People wanting to see a show is not proof that “God is at work.” Like the other fathers on the show, Coleman spends most of his parenting time angrily brooding, issuing threats and trying to intimidate his daughter into behaving. Is this how a Christian father should lead his daughter? The Bible tells parents to instruct their children in The Word, not to rely on your own “toughness” or “intimidation” to make your child obey. Children are to be taught God’s Word because that is where the supernatural power to change the heart of a child lies. That is where faith in The Lord and true belief come from. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by The Word of God. The Preachers on this show use the same tough tactics any atheist parent could use. And their results are predictably unsuccessful.
Kolby – The “Good Girl”
Kolby Koloff, daughter of WWF Wrestler turned pastor Nikita Koloff, emerged from season 1 as one of the fan favorites and “good girls.” However, as we featured in our first article on Preacher’s Daughters , Koloff’s father is a member of the IHOP church coalition that teaches a number of unbiblical practices. Additionally, her mother, also a “pastor” who spent the first season focused on teen sexual behavior, using all manner of perverted, blunt talk to her daughters, on camera.
Why Is Olivia Perry Not Returning?
The one girl who made every effort to shun hard partying and fornication in Season 1, was Olivia Perry. The teen single mother, who was uncertain of the identity of the father of her child (a melodrama that her father chose to have taped for the viewing audience), tried to avoid the “wild child” behavior in Season 1. And it turns out that she was not invited back to the show for Season 2. Her own statements provide more confirmation of the show’s desire to ramp up the sinful rebellion posing as “Christian entertainment”:
Olivia provided some insight with an Instagram post:
“For everyone who is wondering why my family and I won’t be on season two of Preachers Daughters— Lifetime decided to go in a whole new direction with the show and unfortunately that did not include our family or fit with our values. We enjoyed our experience on the show and wish the other families the best! Xo” (source).
So from one of their own cast members, it’s clear that the show wants to exploit these young ladies to the fullest all for the goal of making money.
Pray For These Families
Hollywood continues to churn out “Christian reality” that has little in common with the real Biblical Christian faith. And there are all too many pastors and other church members lining up to be the next potential star – even if it means disgracing themselves and making a mockery of The Church. Pray for the pastors on Preachers Daughters to repent of their participation in this show, to believe the Biblical Gospel and lead their families with God’s Word. Young people today face hundreds of times more temptation than earlier generations. And this calls for parents to be that much stronger in reading the Bible, praying and loving their children in the manner God commands. Lord willing, the cast of Preacher’s Daughters will realize this and start living for God over fame.
Shameful, and Pathetic. The church has lost it’s way, fathers whoring out their own flesh and blood, simply pathetic.
Unfortunately this is mainstream Christianity. People who go to church one day a week and then live like the world every other day. This cable network should be charged with crimes wile allowing and encouraging illegal drug use and alcohol abuse. Garbage like this keeps me from ever getting cable or regular television service again.
“while”
So pathetic and the people are to be blame for buying into this trash. These are not true Christians; these people don’t fear the true God. But then again the devil is very clever; just another target to harm the reputation of the true faithful Christians.
Dear B&E,
I really enjoyed reading your articles I believe they are very insightful and very relevant for this day in age. I did however get offended by your claim that Seventh-Day Adventist are not in line with biblical Christianity. That is not true at all. I am a Seventh Day Adventist Christian and can tell you that myself and my church not only base our beliefs on the truth of the bible, but the affirmation of our faith is based on John 3:16 ” for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whoever believeth in him shall not perish but have eternal life”.
Going back to what seventh day Adventist believe which is the sanctification of the Lords Sabbath day which is Friday night sunset to Saturday night sunset. In Exodus 20:8-11 the word of God says. Remember the sabbath day to keep it holy six days shall thou labour and do all thy work, but the Seventh day is the day of The Lord thy God in it thou shall not do any work, thou nor thy son, nor thou daughter, thy man servant, nor thy maid servant; nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates; for in six days The Lord made heaven and earth, the sea and all that in them is and rested the Seventh day wherefore The Lord blessed the Seventh day and hallowed it”.
As for Ellen G. White and your accusation on her using occult terminology and symbolism please provide evidence from her writings that you base this on and where she predicted the end of the world.
We are all brothers and sisters in Christ, and I believe that when ministering to others you should do so knowing the the truth. We as Adventist Christians are Christians first and believe in the second coming of Christ an event that I hope you and other fellow believers are looking forward to. Please know this is to open the door for transparency in love and truth so you and others are not putting down fellow believers because of your lack of understanding and insight. Thank you for your response and God bless.
Hi Dominique,
Thanks very much for your comments. I actually wrote a response to you but it was getting so long that I have decided to turn into an article. I think it can be shown through Scripture that there are many doctrines of the Seventh Day Adventist Church that are not Biblical. And I will also attempt to demonstrate that by Biblical standards that Ellen G. White is indeed a false prophet. So I ask that you please be patient with me as I will try to get the article out very soon.
But in the meantime, I do not want to neglect your question so I will answer now. Here are some examples of the occult language used by Ellen G. White:
Nowhere in Scripture will you find the phrase “All-Seeing Eye.” That is Freemasonic Occult language.
Here is a drawing she made to represent God:
Once again we see Freemasonic imagery that is supposed to be depicting “God.” Nowhere do words or artwork like this have any place in Biblical Christianity. And as already mentioned, her gravestone is an enormous obelisk. And I am just giving a few examples. The article will have many more.
I appreciate your kindness and humility in this discussion. And I thank you for questioning my basis for my statements. Please know that although my critique can be strong it is out of a love for God’s Word and all people. The Bible is clear that many false prophets have gone out into the world and this ministry exposes them because Scripture commands us to and because souls are at stake. So I hope you continue to come to the site and that we can continue this discussion in a Godly manner. God bless. -B&E
Hello B&E,
Thank you so much for your quick response to my comments. This is going to be a little lengthy because I have a few things to comment on.
You did not provide any evidence on the Doctrines of the SDA church being non biblical or Ellen White being a false prophet so I wont go there.
However the supposed freemasonry and Ellen G. White connection I will give evidence written by Ellen G. White in opposition to secret societies. From her book Evangelism Pg.622, Ellen White writes, “ I am very thankful to our gracious heavenly Father that He has given you strength through His imparted grace to cut yourself loose from the Free Mason lodge and all that relates to the society. It was not safe for you to have any part with this secret order. Those who stand under the blood-stained banner of Prince Immanuel cannot be united with the Free Masons or with any secret organization. The seal of the living God will not be placed upon anyone who maintains such a connection after the light of truth has shone upon his pathway. Christ is not divided, and Christians cannot serve God and mammon. The Lord says, “Come out from among them, and be ye separate, … and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, and I will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be My sons and My daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.” As you can see from her own words Ellen G. White highly opposed secret societies and most directly Freemasonry.
When Ellen G. White talks about Gods all-seeing eye she is referring to Gods omniscience or omnipresence, God sees all. Its all about context…The scripture speaks of Gods eye in the singular and plural contexts. Here are some scriptures that prove this and speak of Gods eye.
2 Chronicles 16:9 “for the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him”…
Psalm 32:8 “ I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.
Psalm 33:18 “Behold the eye of the Lord is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy.”
Habakkuk 1:13 “Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil and canst not look in iniquity.”
In regards to the Lithograph or what is formally called “Way of Life picture from Paradise lost to Paradise restored, this was absolutely not made my Ellen G. White. It was designed and copyrighted by Dr. Merritt G. Kellogg, Kellogg did not mean for the picture to have any connection with freemasonry, but used the eye to signify the all knowing eye of God, like I stated above. The picture was published in the Review and Herald (An Adventist Publication) on May 1873. That same year Dr. Kellogg published a 15 page explanation to accompany the picture. In 1876 James White (Ellen G. White’s husband) decided to improve the picture. In July of that same year Ellen White wrote, “The way of life picture is to be revised and improved in everyway…There is enough to consider and plan and arrange and we hope to do this all with exactitude which will leave us no chance for regret.” Ellen G White and her husband knew of the issues of freemason overtone that would be assumed had they used the picture the way Kellogg originally made it, which is why it was changed.
As for Ellen G. White’s gravestone, it is an obelisk, which was a standard gravestone during the time period she lived and they were one of the cheaper options back then. Based on her teachings against freemasonry and even she says those who follows these orders will be lost one can assume she herself was not associated with this group.
While I do believe that your critique was out of love for Gods word and his people you did not study Ellen G. White’s writing or the teachings of the Adventist church before you made what I believe to he harsh preconceived idea on who Adventist are and what we stand for which I can personally attest we do not base our beliefs on works based faith. I do agree that the bible is very clear about false prophets that have and will go out into the world teaching false doctrines and heresies which is why I believe you should understand Ellen G. White’s writings a lot better so that you will understand who she was and what she ministered about.
In closing the bible clearly states in Mathew 24:36 “But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my father only.” Ellen G. White has never claimed to know the time or hour of Christ’s second coming, neither has the Adventist Church. Souls are very much at Stake which is why it is important for light and truth to direct the lost and confused. You have platform on your blog and people from different denominations are coming and need to hear the truth which is based on the authority of Gods word. As far as your future article, I will say again please understand who Adventist are and what we stand for before you make comments that could possibly be based on false accusation and not on truth. I definitely will continue to read your blog as long as you stick with truth, like I stated before it has been very insightful. Just stick to truth my Christian brother or sister and you will make a wonderful difference. Have blessed day and God bless.
Hi Dominique,
Thanks very much for your response. I will try to address your points and since this is turning into an in-depth discussion, I will oblige and get into specifics about the false propehcies and heretical doctrines of Ellen White.
1. The Way of Life – Thanks for the clarification on the actual artist behind the rendering. But needless to say, it is still a rendering of God that is much more akin to occult imagery than anything from the Bible.
2. Freemasonry – I never said that Ellen G. White was a Freemason. In fact, I do not know of any female Freemasons aside from Madame Blavatsky who was more of an honorary member. I said that the use of the term All-Seeing Eye is freemasonic and occultic language. In the same way that Jay-Z says he is not a Fremason and not a member of a secret society but makes occultic and freemasonic references at every turn.
The term “All-Seeing Eye” is not in the Bible. But it is found in the writings of Albert Pike, a 33rd degree freemason, occultist and Luciferian. He made the term popular in the English language. I would be wary of any pastor who is preaching from the pulpit and making references to the “All-Seeing Eye” of God. Is this what you find in the services you attend?
But now let’s get to the actual prophecies of Ellen G. White:
None of this is in the Bible. There is no reference to Jesus Christ entering the sanctuary in 1844. White taught that anyone not in the Adventist movement after 1844 was lost. She re-emphasizes this point in another writing:
It’s very hard to comment on these writings because they are so far Scripture. Christ ceased as man’s intecessor? The Bible says of The Lord Jesus Christ: “But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood. Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.” (Hebrews 7:24-25). Jesus will never stop making intercession for those who believe. And certainly the Bible makes no reference to 1844 being significant at all. That date was important to White because she was previously a part of the Millerite movement, started by William Miller, who predicted the Second Coming in 1844.
Ellen G. White writing about Adam and Satan:
The Bible is clear that it was Eve who was deceived by Satan, not Adam. Here is what the Bible says: ” For Adam was first formed, then Eve. 14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.” (1 Timothy 2:13-14). Thus White is in complete contradiction to Scripture. This is just a basic, plain reading of the text.
Ellen G. White on Jesus Christ being the Archangel Michael:
Once again, this is not found in the Bible. What does the Bible say about who Jesus is:
Scripture is clear. Jesus is far better and greater than an angel. He is the creator. He is called “God” by God the Father. He pardons sin. Jesus is God and not an archangel. He is the express image of God throughout the Old Testament, and not the Archangel Michael.
Furthermore, nowhere in Scripture do we read about Michael resurrecting Moses and taking him to Heaven. This is more wild speculation on White’s part. What we do read is that Michael dared not to bring a railing accusation against Satan, but instead said “The Lord rebuke thee.” Why? Because Michael had respect for Satan’s former heavenly rank. Yet Christ shows no such concern. He said “Get behind me Satan” and had no problem speaking to Satan directly during the wildnerness temptation.
Daniel 10:13, speaking of the angel Michael, also clarifies this point: But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia. Notice that Michael is just “one of the chief princes” among a group of them. Clearly this cannot be referring to Christ.
Investigative Judgment and Ellen G. White:
This is nowhere in Scripture. Jesus Christ did not return in 1844. He is not “investigating” the works of people. Jesus Christ is seated at the hand of the Father making intercession for all who believe. There is nothing to investigate among believers. Why? Because Jesus did EVERYTHING for our salvation. Our works do not get us to Heaven. We are saved by grace through faith in Christ. Is it the gift of God, not of works. Lest any man should boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9). A true born again Christian receives Jesus Christ’s imputed righteousness freely. That is what gets one to Heaven. Not living our lives to pass “investigation.” This is a wildly unbiblical doctrine.
White continues:
Standing in one’s lot is a reference to the feast of tabernacles, not standing before God to be judged. A Christian does not enter into judgment of God. Jesus said: ” Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.” (John 5:24). A Christian is saved from the moment they believe. The have eternal life from the moment they believe.
White said that even in the 19th century, Jesus had not finished His work of redemption:
The Scriptures say that on the cross, The Lord Jesus Christ said: “It is finished.” After the resurrection there was no more work for Christ to do to save the lost. Romans 8:1 says: There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. If you are in Christ, you are not condemned. No further investigation needed. And being in Christ comes through faith, not works righteousness. But this is what SDA doctrine is indeed found upon – using works to achieve salvation.
And this of course leads to the Sabbath, which White calls the “Great Test” of who is loyal or disloyal to God. The Sabbath was a memorial sign of the Mosaic covenant. A born again Christian is not party to the Mosaic covenant, but is instead, a part of the New Covenant, established by Christ in His death, burial and resurrection. The Mosaic covenant expired with the Coming of Christ and His fulfillent of the law. Nevertheless, the Sabbath points to Christ as it is a memorial of the Seventh Day of creation – when God saw that the world was good and man was at peace with the Lord. Now that same peace can only come through Christ. Now sinless perfection can only come through Christ. Now the “rest” can only come through Christ. This is explained in Hebrews 4:
This passage is referencing Numbers 13, when the Israelites refused to enter Canaan after 10 spies reported they were scared of the Nephilim giants there. And thus God punished them by ensuring that none of the adult Israelites would enter the Promised Land except for Joshua and Caleb, who believed and had faith that God would give His people the victory (since God had already promised the land to them). The theological point being made is that it all comes down to faith. And thus the sabbath for a Christian is resting from one’s works and trusting in Christ to make it to Heaven. It is a refusal to stand on what you do and put all your faith in what Christ did on the Cross. That is the “Rest” being spoken of. So for a Christian, the Sabbath day is every day. Why? Because every day you should be putting your faith and trust in Jesus Christ, not your own works. Working for salvation is proving that we don’t truly believe the Gospel.
And I also wonder – if you believe in Sabbath keeping, do you personally follow all of the Biblical requirements for Sabbath?
I apologize for rushing through these points, but I really wanted to show a range of areas where White was wrong and not in line with Scripture. If you have more questions or comments, please feel free to share. I am more than happy to have this conversation. God bless.
By the way if anyone needs any additional information on the correspondence concerning the way of life picture I will be more than happy to provide it as well a as any info I mentioned on my post. I will definitely email it.
Hello B&E,
When I saw your initial post that denounced the Seventh-Day Adventist (SDA) faith I was very surprised because your post are generally accurate and biblically based. However, the lack of biblical reference and inaccurate assumptions/accusations about Ellen G. White and SDA Christians is just shocking coming from this site. I was going to take the liberty of providing some truth about the SDA church, but Ms. Dominique has done an excellent job already so there is no need for me to refute your comments. I will say that I hope that you actually go research the SDA Church more before responding again because your inaccuracies will cause you to lose followers on your site, but even worse they could lead people against their fellow Christian brothers and sisters. I will ask you not to end your research after finding controversial articles and images that attempt to bash SDA Christians. But actually take the time to talk to SDA Christians and you will see how our affirmation of faith aligns with none other than the Holy Bible. I am a SDA Christian and confess here and now that Jesus Christ’s sacrifice is the only way to salvation. Not works or any other methods. May God bless you and keep you.
Hi Marquez,
Thanks for your comments. I responded to Dominique and included a much more detailed critique of Ellen White. But here is my question for you – from a Biblical standpoint, what happens to someone who does not keep Sabbath?
Yes sir/ma’am I read your response to Dominique and I know where you are trying to go with your question but there is no need my brother/sister. I don’t keep the Sabbath out of fear of something happening to me. I keep the Sabbath out of love and honor for God and his word which is the same reason I do not use the Lord’s name in vain, do not steal, do not kill…. I’m sure you know these commandments so I won’t go on. Jesus did not do away with the Sabbath or any other of the commandments. Yes he paid the price for our salvation but that doesn’t mean we dismiss God’s commandments. The sabbath is not everyday and it is not just applicable to the Mosiac covenant. God hallowed and sanctified it at the beginning of time. Most people only think that it’s a day of worship and forget that it is also a day of rest. Yes we give all the glory to and put our faith in Jesus Christ everyday, but The Sabbath is not everyday. The scripture you referred to about resting in Christ is not speaking of the Sabbath. Nowhere in the Bible can you find Jesus telling us not to keep the Sabbath or any other Commandments. However, I will leave you with this scripture from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Matthew 5: 16-19
“16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. 17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. 18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. 19 Whosever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men to do so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.”
-Matthew 5: 16-19
Hi Marquez,
Thanks again for your comments. I would like to respond to you quoting Matthew 5:16-19. This is unfortunately, one of the most misunderstood and misapplied Scriptures in the Bible. And I noticed that you quoted without dividing it or explaining its meaning. So let’s look at it closely and see what the Lord is trying to convey:
As you see, I bolded the word “so” in verse 16 because this indicates grammatically that The Lord is making a comparison to something said earlier. This will be important later. But for now let’s focus on verse 18, which is the verse quoted many, many times by those who try to promote Mosaic Law keeping in some form or fashion. The common interpretation of this verse is: “Jesus is saying that until Heaven and Earth pass away, the law is still in effect. And since Heaven and Earth will not pass until after the Second Coming, we should be keeping all of the Mosaic law until then.” However, this interpretation leaves out the very important last phrase in the verse: “…one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, TILL ALL BE FULFILLED.” Rather than saying that the law would never be abolished, Jesus was saying that the law would in fact be abolished at a time certain. When was that time? When all is fulfilled. The point The Lord is making was that there was an expiration to the law and it was quickly approaching. And it would be expired by HIS fulfilling of the law and the prophets.
So when did this fulfillment take place? On the cross. The fulfillment of the law and prophets was Jesus fulfilling every single Messianic prophecy in the Old Testament. And Scripture records the very moment this took place:
This was the very moment that Jesus Knew that all Scripture was fulfilled. And the passage uses the word “might” because there was one last prophecy: ” Reproach hath broken my heart; and I am full of heaviness: and I looked for some to take pity, but there was none; and for comforters, but I found none. 21 They gave me also gall for my meat; and in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink.” (Psalm 69:20-21). This is a Messianic prophecy, which is why Jesus requested vinegar before dying. And as soon as He drank it He said “IT IS FINISHED.” Every word spoken by The Lord God about the Messiah in the Old Testament, thousands of years before Christ’s First Coming had now been fulfilled. Jesus proved beyond doubt that He was indeed The Christ.
This is when the law was now abolished and the New Covenant, established in Christ, was inaugurated. For more details on this please see our article: Are Christians Under the Law? – Understanding the Law and Gospel.
Please know that I understand that you and Dominique may be offended by my comments, but please know I am just relaying God’s Word as I can best divide it. The Seventh Day Adventist doctrine is fraught with error and misapplication of Scripture. And it uses the writings of Ellen White as inspired despite her blatantly unbiblical teachings. So my hope and prayer is that you and Dominique let THE BIBLE be the final authority and not me, this website or Ellen White.
And finally, I believe I have addressed the concerns you have raised. And I would truly appreciate it if you would share your Biblical position on those who do not keep Sabbath. Thanks very much.
B&E representative,
It is obvious that you are battling with your OPINION of what The Lord is saying in Matthew 5:16-19. Those are your interpretations of what The Lord is saying but there is no hidden meaning in these scriptures. We don’t have to see what the Lord is “trying” to convey as you put it. He made it plain. You or Ellen White are definitely not the final authority and I’m not sure why you keep reverting back to her when responding to me because I haven’t quoted any of her writings nor have I given her any praise on my post. I give God all my praise. Please be assured that I only rely on The Bible and the conviction of the Holy Spirit to know and understand God’s word. I just pray that you’re allowing the Holy Spirit to guide your way and not be a misleading source. There is no further need for our discussion or for me to continue viewing this site. May The Lord lead you in His way. God bless.
Hello again,
I will try to cover some of the points you have made because I do believe they need to be addressed, However I definitely need to brake this up because this is very lengthy and I don’t have the time to cover all of this in one comment.
1. Based on what I last said about Ellen G. White’s opposition against freemasonry as given to you in the quote above there was no freemasonry connection and I will leave it at that.
2. You quoted Ellen White and said she “taught that anyone not in the Adventist Movement after 1844 was lost”. From the quote you gave, it clearly did not say that. Maybe wild speculation on your part. You also quoted the spirit of prophecy which has ten volumes and you referred to pg. 257, what volume did you find that quote from? You quoted Ellen White as stating that Christ ceased as mans intercessor, but you did not complete the quote so that we could see her complete thoughts on it.
In regards to the year 1844 it is very significant biblically and Ellen White is referring to the sanctuary process that needs to happen so that sin will be eliminated and we can live in heaven with God for all eternity. There is so much to cover on this subject alone and I don’t have the space to do it in this comment section so I will try my best.
John 14:1-3 says “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Fathers house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also”.
It is Gods desire for us to live with him in heaven and in order for this to happen there are things that have to be done to make it possible. One thing in particular is the total elimination of sin. We can not take sin into heaven we can not be sinful beings in Heaven that is why the year 1844 is so significant not just for Adventist, but Gods people. God’s way is taught to us in the sanctuary services. In John 14:6 Jesus said “I am the way the truth and the life”. Christ’s sacrifice made eternal life possible for all, this also was the solution to destroy sin and permanently separates sin from Gods people. Psalm 77:13 says “thy way oh God is in the sanctuary.” The scriptures reveal that there is a sanctuary in heaven and that there was also one in the Old Testament times. In Hebrews 8:1,2 it says we have an high priest, who is on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens; a minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man”. Verse 12 speaks of the earthy sanctuary which I was referring to the sanctuary in the Old Testament “the first covenant had also ordinances of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary. For there was a tabernacle made”.
When talking to Marquez you mentioned that God did away with the law, the law you are referring to is the law book of Moses which were ceremonial laws (offerings or ordinances) which required animal sacrifice for the forgiveness of sin. Now those laws are done away with because Christ came as the ultimate sacrifice so that was no longer necessary. Going back to the sanctuary, these sacrifices were all performed in the Sanctuary. Now going to what this has to do with 1844. According to Bible Prophecy, which is found in Daniel, Ezekiel, Ezra, Christ from 34 A.D. until 1844 ministered within the first apartment of the sanctuary, according to the terms of the new covenant. In 1844 Christ entered within the veil just as the priests did in the earthly sanctuary which took place on the day of atonement which is also known as the time when the sanctuary was cleansed. Like I said before, this is what is being spoken about in regards to the years 1844 and yes you are right about the Millerite movement and Miller predicting the second coming of Christ. I do find it quite interesting how you still have not given any evidence that White predicted Christ’s second coming. It definitely referenced that Miller did. Like I said before so much can be said on this topic alone and it requires you to open the word of God and gain a clear understanding of what it says especially as it pertains to prophecy.
3.) In regards to Michael the Archangel Daniel 12:1 says “And that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book”.
In this scripture God’s children will be in affliction and trouble during Christ’s second coming and God will send an angel to deliver them in whom he calls Michael. Do you know any other angels in scripture who is called great prince?
Genesis 31:11, 13 says “and the angel of God spake unto me in a dream saying Jacob: And I said here I am….I am God of Bethel, where thou anointedst the pillar, and where thou vowest a vow unto me….”(By the way, Bethel means house of God)
Genesis 48:15, 16 says And he blessed Joseph, and said, God, before whom my fathers Abraham and Issac did walk, the God which fed me all my life long unto this day, The Angel which redeemed me from evil, Bless the lads”.
The definition of redemption is salvation by sacrifice, I ask you by whose sacrifice are we redeemed? It was by Jesus Christ’s Sacrifice we are redeemed.
Exodus 3:2-7 says And the Angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush…..God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Mose, Moses…Moreover he said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Issac, and the God of Jacob and Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God. And the Lord said…
The word Lord in caps in the King James version, (the version I am reading from) of the bible indicates that the Hebrew word is Yahweh, which is commonly pronounced Jehovah. So the angel is called both Yahweh and Jehovah.
Judges 13: 21, 22 But the angel of the Lord did no more appear to Manoah and to his wife. Then Manoah knew that he was an angel of the Lord. And Manoah said unto his wife, we shall surly die, because we have seen God.
There are more scriptures I can go to that speak of a divine angel who appeared and is called God and Yahweh. According to scripture this is not God the father because John 1:18 says “No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.
I will also say in Greek the word angel simply means messenger that does not mean that there is not a difference in angels because there are Angels are heavenly beings created by God. However the Angel of God is the distinct manifestation of God. This is who Michael is.
I wanted to also comment on what you said that Michael dared not bring railing accusations about Satan because he respected his former heavenly rank. This is not biblical. Revelation 12:7 says “And there was war in Heaven and Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels. And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven”. If Michael respected Satan’s former rank why would he fight him?
4.) The investigative Judgment is also biblical
Revelation 22:12 “And behold I come quickly; and my reward is with me. To give every man according as his work shall be”.
It will be judgment that will determine what the rewards will be and in order for this to take place it must take place before he comes.
1 Peter 1:17 “And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every mans work…
Acts 17:31 “because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained….
You stated that there is nothing to investigate because Jesus did everything for our salvation. My question to you is then why are we still here?
You stated that a Christian does not enter into judgment of God, from the scriptures I showed you that is not true. Eternal life is a free gift given by Christ you are correct, but I think that what you are not acknowledging is that there is sin in the world and we fall short of Gods glory.
Romans 6: 13 “neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourself unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God”.
We need to die of ourselves daily we have no strength to do this on our own. God’s law found in His ten commandments which give us knowledge of sin is necessary. We are born sinners why is repentance necessary? This goes back to what you said to Marquez if we no longer have to regard the ten commandments can I take the Lords name in vain and steal, etc because I am saved. Absolutely not.
Deuteronomy 4:12, 13 says “and the Lord spake unto you out of the midst of the fire : ye heard the voice of the words, but saw no similitude; only ye heard a voice. And he declared unto you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, even ten commandments; and he wrote them upon two tablets of stone”.
James 2:12 says So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty”.
Ecclesiastes 12:13, 14 says, Lets us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep his commandments for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
The Adventist Church uses and base their beliefs on the authority of the word of God. I believe in your efforts to prove Ellen G. White a false prophet and Marquez and myself wrong you have definitely gone far away from biblical foundation. You have interpreted the bible through your own understanding without using biblical evidence to back up what you are saying in this discussion. You have took pieces out of Ellen G. Whites writings which have not made your points clear and ignoring the full meaning of what she has said. You have claimed that the doctrines of the whole seventh day Adventist church as false even though you still have not given biblical evidence and you show no knowledge of the Seventh day Adventist church’s teachings. If you noticed in responding to you I did not quote Ellen G. White at all, mainly because she is not the authority of the Adventist church or Gods word. You said to Marquez that you are relaying Gods word as best you can divide it, what does that mean? The charge you gave Marquez and myself was to let the word of God be the final authority and I truly will do that and believe I have in this discussion. I also give that same charge to you because that is not what you did in this discussion. Please believe me when I say I am saying this out of love. When trying to explain the scripture in Mathew 5:16-19 to Marquez you gave your own opinion which was not biblical. I will say this to you and Marquez all will be fulfilled when Christ returns. Verse 19 is very significant and you did not even mention it when trying to explain it. “whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and teach men to do so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of Heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven”. God is very clear, follow His commandments. God bless you and please stick to His word
Hi Dominique,
Thank you very much for your response. I am going to show, beyond a doubt, that based on what you wrote, that Seventh Day Adventist doctrine is unbiblical and premised on a false Gospel.
I believe I quoted her accurately. If I didn’t, simply list the quote and show my error. She said Jesus ceased doing any type of intercession after 1844. The bible directly contradicts this. How am I wrong??
And here is the heart of your deep and very serious Biblical error. Your belief is premised on a false notion that even once you believe in Jesus, your sins have not been removed from you. There is still “some things to be done.” This is rank and utter heresy. What you are doing, whether you are aware or not, is denying the atoning work of Christ on the cross. On the cross, Christ did all the work necessary for the forgiveness of sins. Period.
Hebrews 10 makes this clear:
Notice the emphasis. Jesus did ONE sacrifice, His death on the cross, to provide complete and total pardon for sin FOR EVER. That was it. Also note that this verse says that Jesus sits at the right hand of The Father, until His enemies are made His footstool (a reference to Armageddon – which clearly has not happened yet). Verse 15 then quotes Jeremiah 31, where God says He will make a NEW COVENANT, to replace the Mosaic Covenant, where sins are remembered “no more.” Seventh Day Adventist teachings says that God is still remember are sins and they are all being kept on a ledger by Jesus. This is clearly a false teaching and a direct contradiction of Scripture. You are believing in and preaching a false Gospel. Clear Scripture rebukes you.
I have already shown that Jesus, who is indeed the High Priest of BIble-believing Christians, made His ONE SACRIFICE, 2000 years ago. That was it. All the temple sacrifices and ordinances were just a foreshadow of the real, perfect sacrifice of Christ. It is finished. This is why Jesus says he who believeth on Him “HATH eternal life.” ‘Hath’ is present tense – meaning you are immediately saved, immediately, redeemed and immediately forgiven of all sins.
Now returning to your comments:
Whoa!! Hold on! With all due respect, did you see what you just did?? You made the claim that Jesus ministered in “the first apartment of the sanctuary” until 1844 and just throw out 3 books with absolutely no verse citation or any actual dividing of Scripture to support this. To make such a wild claim and not even attempt to show the Scriptural support of this is irresponsible at best. Again, Scripture refutes you:
So the passage is clearly referencing the Mosaic Law ordinances regarding the tabernacle and the Most Holy Place, which the High Priest could enter. Let’s continue:
So as we can see, the Old Testament tabernacle was a FIGURE or foreshadow of the Heavenly sanctuary. And rather than Jesus being in “the first apartment until 1844”, He as HIGH PRIEST, entered ONCE into the most holy place to make ONE sacrifice, that being His Blood, which was done on the cross, 2,000 years ago. So again, you are in blatant and brazen Scriptural error, by claiming that Christ was in one portion of the sanctuary until 1844 and now moved elsewhere.
I have already shown that Christ entered the Most Holy Place once, at the time of His crucifixion. Scripture is clear that the veil was HIS FLESH. And again, we see no special reference to 1844. William Miller, a false prophet, made up that date for the rapture and return of CHrist and was wrong. And Ellen White believed him. If White was a prophet of God, how could she be deceived? She wouldn’t be. I have also shown you quotes where she directly contradicts Scripture (i.e., saying Adam was deceived by Satan, when the Bible explicitly says Adam was not deceived), which also disqualifies her as a prophet of God, and you have just completely ignored it. This is what false doctrine does – it forces you to ignore and overlook blatant errors by your leaders.
As for the Angel of The Lord being Jesus – Yes, this of course is true. The Angel of The Lord in the Old Testament in the preincarnate Jesus Christ. But that angel is NOT Michael. I have already shown where Michael is referred to as “one of the chief princes.” You ignored it. Hebrews 1 goes out of its way to distinguish Jesus from the angels. They worship Him. God the Father calls Jesus “God”, etc. Additionally, Judges 13, which you cite, refutes you:
Here again, we see that the Angel of The Lord is clearly not Michael, whose name is not secret in the Old Testament but is offered up freely and unsolicited to Daniel. So again, you are in clear Biblical error.
There is no “investigative judgment in Scripture.” The reason why Jesus will judge every man according to his works is because if you are not saved, you are under the law. The law applies to those who are not redeemed. All of the lost are in bondage. And of course, your works will come up empty on judgment day. For you to even insinuate that somehow your works will save you, is DENYING THE WORK OF CHRIST ON THE CROSS. Notice in everything you preach, the focus is not on faith in Christ and what He did, but instead its on our actions. This is the hallmark of a false Gospel.
And what honestly is even more disturbing is that whether it is Seventh Day Adventists or Hebrew Roots, all of the law preachers who come to this site NEVER respond when I ask: how well are YOU keeping the commandments?? I asked you if you keep the Sabbath every week, and you didn’t even answer! How can you preach Sabbath keeping as necessary for salvation and you won’t even say if you keep it. It is stunning to see this manner of hypocrisy. I know I am being harsh but I cannot mince words when it comes to those who preach a false Gospel – which is precisely what you are doing. So I will ask again – do YOU personally keep the Sabbath as detailed in Scripture? Do you do this every week?
I sincerely hope you consider the verses posted here. I am not trying to battle you, I am hoping and praying you will see the glorious light of the Biblical Gospel. Our works cannot save us. The Bible says all our righteousness are as filthy rags. That’s how God sees them. It is only the perfect work of Christ that can save. I hope and pray you repent and abandon these false, heretical doctrines. My goal is for you to be in Heaven with The Lord eternally and to know the true joy of Biblical salvation. Not the bondage of works-righteousness.
I responded to Marquez with Scripture and his response was that he will never come to this site again. Is this how a Bible believer should reach to reading Bible verses? Please give these things consideration. God bless.
Hi [email protected],
First off, as always brother, I want to say may grace, mercy and peace be unto you from God our Father and from Jesus Christ our Lord. I just wanted to jump in and add a little, to your defense, on this Seventh Day Adventists conversation your having with Dominique and Marquez. As usual, your interpretation of scripture is 100% accurate. Here’s a quote straight from the SDA main website (advenist.org), under a section title “beliefs”.
One of the gifts of the Holy Spirit is prophecy. This gift is an identifying mark of the remnant church and was manifested in the ministry of Ellen. G. White . As the Lord’s messenger, her writings are a continuing and authoritative source of truth which provide for the church comfort, guidance, instruction, and correction. They also make clear that the Bible is the standard by which all teaching and experience must be tested.
Notice, the last two sentences of that quote blatantly contradict each other. They erroneously claim that Ellen G. White was the Lord’s messenger and that her writings “are a continuing and authoritative source of truth to provide the Church with comfort, guidance, instruction, and correction”. Do you see the contradiction between that statement and the last sentence from the quote? I guess they don’t really use the Bible as their final standard if their using her writings instead of scripture for correction and instruction in righteousness. Only scripture is to be used for this (2 Timothy 3:16). Heres another contradictory quote from the same website under a section titled “28 fundamental beliefs”.
There is a sanctuary in heaven, the true tabernacle which the Lord set up and not man. In it Christ ministers on our behalf, making available to believers the benefits of His atoning sacrifice offered once for all on the cross. He was inaugurated as our great High Priest and began His intercessory ministry at the time of His ascension. In 1844, at the end of the prophetic period of 2300 days, He entered the second and last phase of His atoning ministry.
So Again, they say that Christ’s atoning sacrifice, was offered once for all on the cross, and then immediately afterward, say that in 1844 he entered into the “second phase oh his atoning ministry”. This is so biblically incurate
Read the second comment, first one got cut off at the end. Thanks and God bless.

This is so biblically inaccurate its not even funny. They had it right with the first sentence, “once and for all”, there is no second and last phase of an atoning ministry. To me it sounds similar to Jehovah’s witnesses, in a sense that they follow the writings of men rather than the word of God. And yes, I noticed how neither of these men answered to whether or not they actually hold the true biblical sabbath. The whole “1844 thing”, is completely based on the writings and false prophecy of Ellen G. White. Keep spreading the good news [email protected], we know what sound doctrine is. I wish more people were as passionate about defending the Bible rather than defending false doctrine, and false prophecy by a false prophet. God bless brother!
Charge thee therefore before God, and before the Lord Jesus Christ, which shall judge the quick and dead at that his appearing, and in his kingdom,
Preach the word: be instant, in season, and out of season: improve, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
For the time will come when they will not suffer wholesome doctrine: but having their ears itching, shall after their own lusts get them an heap of teachers,
And shall turn their ears from the truth, and shall be given unto fables.
But watch thou in all things: suffer adversity: do the work of an Evangelist: cause thy ministry to be thoroughly liked of.
For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departing is at hand.

did Dominique or Marquez ever respond back ?
Hi Acts 4:12. I’m afraid they never did. God bless. -B&E
