The ‘Prometheus’ Movie: The Alien Gospel Deception

January 14, 2012 By Beginning and End

Worship the Creator, not the creation.

Updated: June 5, 2012

“Prometheus” , a movie by legendary director Ridley Scott, is going to be a blockbuster hit in summer 2012. The movie, about a team of scientists and astronauts who go on a top-secret journey to contact an alien race, has drawn much of its inspiration from the “Alien Gospel”, also known as the “Ancient Astronaut Theory” which states that aliens at some point in the distant past, created humanity and are responsible for the advanced knowledge held by ancient civilizations. This type of theory, which is being promoted heavily in movies and television, completely denies God and helps to prepare the world for a Satanic deception. This article will shed light on the Bible’s clear explanation of the alien phenomenon and that there is “life out there” that is not from this planet. But it is not an extra-terrestrial race. They are evil, spiritual beings who have rebelled against God and are now out to deceive humanity.

The Trailer

Prometheus marks the return to the Science Fiction genre for Ridley Scott, who directed the films ‘Alien’ and ‘Blade Runner’, considered two of the greatest sci-fi movies of all time. In addition to the trailer, a great deal of information, rumors and spoilers regarding the plot of the film have been released. Here is the official plot synopsis:

“Visionary filmmaker Ridley Scott returns to the genre he helped define, creating an original science fiction epic set in the most dangerous corners of the universe. The film takes a team of scientists and explorers on a thrilling journey that will test their physical and mental limits and strand them on a distant world, where they will discover the answers to our most profound questions and to life’s ultimate mystery.”

The “profound question” and “life’s ultimate mystery” in the film are specifically, where did humans come from? And the answer that Prometheus provides is that an advanced alien race came to Earth, “seeded” the planet and started the evolutionary process that led to human beings. In the movie, ancient bio-technology of the “Engineers” (the aliens who created humanity) is discovered on Mars in the year 2085 and an archeologist, Elizabeth Shaw, who works in Africa looking for “evidence of God, is recruited by Meredith Vickers (played by Charlize Theron) of the Weyland Corporation, to help do a full scale archeological dig in deep space. Shaw has spent her career studying ancient civilizations for the common thread of belief that will help prove the existence of God. She is the daughter of Christian missionary parents and is a devout believer in God (Noomi Rapace, who plays Shaw in the film, has confirmed that her character is indeed a believer). Vickers tells Shaw that she will be given the opportunity of a lifetime as she could find the evidence of God she has been searching for.

The crew of the Prometheus encounter an ancient megalith as they explore the ‘Temple of the Gods.’

The assignment involves heading to the “Citadel” of the ancient alien engineers. Once there, Shaw’s discoveries on Mars lead herto uncover evidence that aliens may possess information for the genetic code of all living beings on Earth. Shaw also is able to activate a “star chart” that shows a holographic map through space to the alien “home of the gods.” Giddy at the news, Weyland Corporation head Robert Weyland (played by Guy Pearce) authorizes the assembling of a crew to head into deep space (a voyage that takes 2 years) to find this newly discovered planet with the hopes of reverse engineering the alien technology for enormous financial gain. As the crew arrives, they discover a temple which the alien Engineers use and where the DNA for thousands of different species are stored in metal containers called ‘ampules’ (pictured in the photo above). The crew has entered into a temple of the “gods.” As the opening scenes of the film depict, alien beings created humans and all other species on Earth (and soon Shaw, the strong believer in God in the movie, loses her faith in Christ to start believing the Alien Gospel).
Thus the movie follows right along with the Alien Gospel. Ridley Scott, in his own interviews has stated the inspiration for the plot of the movie:

“Also, I ring off of… there’s a writer, Erich von Däniken. One of his most famous books was called Chariots of the Gods. Everyone thinks he was out of his mind, you know, for number one, “we are the creation of gods”…Things have changed so dramatically that you can start looking at the idea that all our history can be completely wrong and misguided. Because at some point someone has to put a statement down and have their own thesis, have their own theories. That was then later accepted or later is gradually dissolved and re-drawn or reworked. So now you’ve got the whole changed attitude with NASA, the church and I think even Hawking. Over the last thirty years have gone from “It’s highly unlikely that there’s anyone else in our galaxy, any other force, being in our galaxy,” to now, where they’re conceding that there are probably thousands of different lifeforms in this galaxy.

And I think Hawking actually said, “Let’s hope they don’t visit.” And I think the church has conceded as well that it would not be against the word of God if we conceded that there are other lifeforms in this galaxy. So, if you take that out, then the door is open. To me, it’s entirely logical. It’s entirely ridiculous to believe that we are the only ones here. That’s why my first thought is that for us to be sitting here right now is actually mathematically impossible without a lot of assistance. Who assisted? Who made the right decisions? Who was pushing and pulling to adjust us? That’s a fair question.” (source)

Scott’s answer to ‘the ultimate question’, based on Von Daniken’s work, is that aliens created, assisted and led us into today’s human society. And as we have detailed in past articles on aliens and the Nephilim, this is a deception. The “aliens” that people have seen, long for, or are expecting are nothing more than fallen angelic and demonic beings masquerading as visitors from outer space. And as will be shown in this article, the Bible has the real answers to these ultimate questions.

The Chariots of The Gods

“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them” — Genesis 1:27-28

Von Daniken’s book, written in 1968, popularized, the “Ancient Astronaut Theory.” His theory is the following:

“For I claim that our forefathers received visits from the universe in the remote past. Even though I do not yet know who these extra-terrestrial intelligences were, or from which planet they came, I nevertheless proclaim that these ‘strangers’ annihilated part of mankind existing at the time and produced a new, perhaps the first, homo sapiens.” (p. 8 )

Von Daniken’s “proof” that aliens did once come to the planet and create us is based on the many megalithic structures all over the world from antiquity, such as the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt, the Mayan pyramids in Mexico and other structures as evidence that ancient civilizations were visited by extraterrestrials and given advanced knowledge and assistance in building these monuments. He also devoted an entire chapter to attacking the Bible, which again is requisite in the Alien Gospel. If aliens made us, then there is no God and thus the truths of the Bible should no longer be taken seriously and only considered “fable.”

The book that brought the Ancient Astronaut Theory to prominence.

Von Daniken open the chapter in his book on the Bible with a direct attack on its credibility:

“The Bible is full of secrets and contradictions.

Genesis for example, begins with the creation of the Earth, which is reported with absolute geological accuracy. How did the writer know that minerals preceded plants and plants preceded animals?

‘And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness’: we read in Genesis 1:26.

Why does God speak in the plural? Why does he say ‘us’ not ‘me’, why ‘our’ not ‘my’? One would think that the only and only God ought to address mankind in the singular, not in the plural. (p. 44)

Whether one believes in the Bible or not, it is very hard for anyone with any knowledge of Christianity to say that the above points are “contradictions.” Moses, the writer of Genesis, spoke to God directly on a regular basis in the Bible, in addition to having the spoken and written testimony of the Biblical patriarchs. He even received the Ten Commandments, directly from God, written on stone tablets. For Moses to know the origin of the world from God is not even a stretch based on the accounts of his interaction and many conversations with God directly.

Additionally, the idea that God exists in three persons- The Father, Son and Holy Spirit is a very established Biblical point. John Chapter 1 states: John “In the beginning was the Word [Jesus], and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” We also see at the baptism of Jesus, the Holy Spirit descending on Jesus like a dove and God the Father speaks from Heaven (Luke 3:21-23). Thus all 3 beings of the divine trinity are present and acting at one time. So for God to speak in the plural, again, was not a contradiction when Jesus has been with God The Father since before time itself.

Von Daniken has been heavily featured on the History Channel’s show “Ancient Aliens”, one of the greatest promoters of the Alien Gospel of all time. The show examines ancient civilizations, the paranormal and even events from the lives of the founding fathers of America and attempts to draw conclusions that every reference to the supernatural was actually a reference to space aliens and UFOs. And just like in Chariots of the Gods?, the show repeatedly questions the Bible’s credibility and twists Biblical accounts to conclude that the authors may have called certain beings “gods” but what they really meant was aliens.

The True Ancient Aliens – The Evil Angels of Genesis 6

After attacking the Bible’s credibility. Von Daniken’s book jumps to a discussion of Genesis 6:

‘”1And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, 2That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.’ (Genesis 6:1-2)
Who can tell what sons of God took the daughters of men to wife? Ancient Israel had a single sacrosanct God. Where do the ‘sons of God’ come from?
‘ There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.’ (Genesis 6:4)

Once again we have the sons of God, who interbreed with human beings. Here too we have the first mention of giants. ‘Giants’ keep cropping up in all parts of the globe: in the mythology of the east and west, in the sagas of Tiahuanaco and the pics of the Eskimos. ‘Giants’ haunt the pages of almost all ancient books. So they must have existed. What sort of creatures were they, these ‘giants’? Were they our forefathers, who built the gigantic buildings and effortlessly manhandled the monoliths, or were they technically skilled space travelers from another star? One thing is certain. The Bible speaks of ‘giants’ and describes them as the ‘sons of God’ and these ‘sons of God’ bred with the daughters of men and multiply.” (‘Chariots of the Gods?’ p. 45)

Well on this last part Von Daniken is correct. The ‘sons of God’ did indeed marry and interbreed with the daughters of human men. What von Daniken did not know or acknowledge is that Bible scripture clearly explains who the ‘sons of God’ are and who their offspring were: the sons of God were not extraterrestrials. They were the rebellious, fallen angels and their half-human, half-angelic offspring were the Nephilim.
As detailed in our article by the same name, the Nephilim, were a hybrid race of fallen angelic beings and humans born in the time before the Great Flood. Genesis Chapter 6 provides the account:

6:1 And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, 6:2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. 6:3 And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years. 6:4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.

Now many people have debated whether the “sons of God” refers to angels or men. And this is precisely why we have to examine the Bible as a complete book and not just hang ideas on one verse. The Hebrew term for “sons of God” is B’nai Ha Elohim, which indicates that these are Heavenly beings, giving credence to them being fallen angels. Further proof comes from the children of these sons of God and daughters of men growing up to become “mighty men” and of “renown.” They were also “giants.” Something in their genetics made them supernaturally large people. And it was their fallen angelic parentage.
But again, we must keep searching the Bible to make certain of meaning. The Bible is self-confirming and one passage of Scripture can always be confirmed by another. We see the term “sons of God” next used in the book of Job. Job 2:1 states: Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them to present himself before the LORD.
The Hebrew term here once again is B’nai Ha Elohim. The ‘sons of God’ here are clearly Angelic beings who are presenting themselves before The Lord (in Heaven). In the Septuagint, the oldest manuscript of the Old Testament (and the text often quoted by Jesus and His Disciples in the New Testament of the King James Version), the verse from Job reads: “And it came to pass on a certain day that the angels of God came to stand before the Lord..” . And Satan is among them (and Satan himself is a fallen cherubim – a type of Heavenly being). So there should be no mistaking what the Hebrew term now means. The implication here is that the Genesis 6 account is detailing fallen angels who married human women and produced children with them. And this act was so abhorrent to The Lord that He punished them. First with the flood and then with imprisonment.

The Nephilim were Satan’s attempt to corrupt the bloodline of humanity that would eventually lead to the birth of the Messiah. Satan knew from the time of the fall of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden that one day, a human woman would give birth to a son who would destroy him, So Satan’s main mission was to prevent the birth of this future Savior of humanity. By leading fallen evil angels to reproduce with human women, he could corrupt the genetics of humans and make the world part human and part angel, thus eliminating the chance for a “human Savior” to be born. The spread of the Nephilim was so rampant that by the time Noah was building the ark, he was one of the last true believers in God who did not have any Nephilim blood in his genealogy. This was the reason for the great flood. It was God’s solution to preserve humanity from the destructive agenda of Satan. In Prometheus, the human-alien hybrid idea plays a major role in the unfolding of the storyline.

The Nephilim were “men of renown” and literal giants, who dominated the Earth. Almost every ancient civilization on record has accounts of “the gods” coming to Earth to take human women as their wives. And their offspring were the “titans”, “heroes” or “demigods” of what society has been taught to see as “myth.” But the Bible makes it clear that these beings were very real. The resulting rampant sin and violence in society became so outrageous that God was forced to wipe out all of the creatures of the Earth except for Noah and his family, with the flood. The Bible describes Noah, who built the ark and survived the flood, as being “.. a just man and perfect in his generations” (Genesis 6:9). The Hebrew term for ‘perfect’ in this verse is “tamiym” which is a reference to health and physical condition and is the same term used for a Passover lamb that is without physical blemish. In short, Noah, in addition to being a believer in God, was 100% human. Thus he and his family were selected to stay on the ark during the flood and repopulate the world once the Nephilim were destroyed and the line of humanity that would lead to the Messiah would continue through him.
The evil angels who committed these acts were punished and sent to the abyss, or bottomless pit, where they are locked away until their final judgment (Jude 1:5-7). However, after the flood, the sinful relations resumed and Giants again returned to Earth, though in limited numbers. While the ancient tribes of Israel wandered the wilderness for 40 years, Satan had his Nephilim offspring, occupy the Promised Land that God had appointed to His nation Israel.
One example of a Nephilim in the Bible was Og, the King of Bashan, whom the Israelites defeated under the leadership of God and His servant, Moses.

3:1 Then we turned, and went up the way to Bashan: and Og the king of Bashan came out against us, he and all his people, to battle at Edrei.
3:2 And the LORD said unto me, Fear him not: for I will deliver him, and all his people, and his land, into thy hand; and thou shalt do unto him as thou didst unto Sihon king of the Amorites, which dwelt at Heshbon.
3:3 So the LORD our God delivered into our hands Og also, the king of Bashan, and all his people: and we smote him until none was left to him remaining.
3:11 For only Og king of Bashan remained of the remnant of giants; behold his bedstead was a bedstead of iron; is it not in Rabbath of the children of Ammon? nine cubits was the length thereof, and four cubits the breadth of it, after the cubit of a man. (Deuteronomy)

Og, is described as being a part of the “remnant” of the giants. So by his time, it appears the intermingling had stopped for good. Notice that the Bible states the measurement of his bed. A cubit is equal to 18 inches and thus Og’s bed was approximately 13 1/2 feet long and 6 feet wide!
The ‘Gods’ of Ancient Times

Prometheus’ Captain Janek (right) and Meredith Vickers search for the “home of the gods.”

Prior to the flood, God permitted the rebellious angels to interact with humanity. Out of their sin, they presented themselves to the world as ‘gods.’ At some point, for a reason that is not quite clear, the true God of the Bible permitted the angels a time of authority over various parts of the world:

“Remember the days of old, consider the years of many generations: ask your father, and he will show you; your elders, and they will tell you. When the Most High divided to the nations their inheritance, when he separated the sons of Adam, he set the bounds of the people according to the number of the children of Israel. For the LORD’S portion is his people; Jacob is the lot of his inheritance.” (Deuteronomy 32:7-9).

While the King James Version describes the division of the gentile nations as according to “the number of the children of Israel,” the Septuagint has the verse differently: “When the Most High divided the nations, when he separated the sons of Adam, he set the bounds of the nations according to the number of the angels of God.” It was a group of angels who were given authority over the nations of the world and God, the true God, started his nation, Israel from one man, Abraham. This is why the next verse distinguishes that Israel is “God’s portion.” The nation of Israel, was literally the portion of the Earth from which God would bring forth His way of salvation of humanity who had fallen into sin and under the deception Satan of the fallen angels. God was allowing humanity a choice. Thus occult practices and paganism spread across the world, while the nation of Israel brought the light of God’s law to unbelievers.

Teotihuacan pyramids in Mexico. Its name means “city of the gods.”

This interpretation is further confirmed when God warned the ancient Israelites against the worship of false idols: “And lest thou lift up thine eyes unto heaven, and when thou seest the sun, and the moon, and the stars, even all the host of heaven [angels], shouldest be driven to worship them, and serve them, which the LORD thy God hath divided unto all nations under the whole heaven.” (Deuteronomy 4:19, King James Version). The Heavenly host, another term for angels, were divided and assigned over all nations as a part of God’s Divine plan for humanity and angels alike. And they abused this authority to present themselves falsely to humankind as gods.

The Bible is clear. The God of the Bible, who created the universe, is the only true God. The Bible uses the term “gods” many times to reference the fallen angels, created beings, who were and still deceive humanity into believing they are gods:

10 But the LORD is the true God, he is the living God, and an everlasting king: at his wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to abide his indignation. 11 Thus shall ye say unto them, The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth, even they shall perish from the earth, and from under these heavens. (Jeremiah 10)

Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods. (Galatians 4:8)

The Bible readily acknowledges “the gods” aside from the True God of the Bible. Why? Because the Biblical account is clear that the supposed “gods” of paganism were the fallen, rebellious angels. As the scriptures say, “5 For all the gods of the nations are idols: but the LORD made the heavens. “ (Psalm 96). The word “idols” refers to the vain, emptiness of the false gods. The Septuagint, in the same verse, labels them ‘demons’.
So the clear answer to the question of ‘who were the sons of God?’ is answered by the Holy Bible. They were not extra-terrestrial entities from outer a far off solar system. They were evil, fallen angels. Interestingly, what von Daniken and the other ancient astronaut theories are forced to ignore is that even in other ancient cultures such as the Egyptians, Mayans or Incas, none of these beings are ever described as coming from another planet. In all these cultures, these beings are consistently called “gods.” The Ancient Astronaut theorists are forced to say (as is done on Ancient Aliens TV show repeatedly) “what they called ‘gods’ were really aliens.”

When it comes to even the title of von Daniken’s book, it is directly from the Bible: The chariots of God are twenty thousand, even thousands of angels: the Lord is among them, as in Sinai, in the holy place. (Psalm 68:17). Not only does the Bible coin the phrase “chariots of God” it again explains they are angels. God is the supreme authority in the universe and angels, His creations, serve Him. And there part of their service to Him is compared to chariots.
The prophet Elijah was supernaturally taken to Heaven in the Bible before he died. In fact his death is never recorded in the Bible because his ascent to Heaven is the last time he is seen. Notice the way he is transported: “And the sons of the prophets that were at Jericho came to Elisha, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the LORD will take away thy master from thy head to day? And he answered, Yea, I know it; hold ye your peace. … And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven. (2 Kings 2:5; 11)
The people of God knew that The Lord was going to supernaturally remove Elijah and take him to Heaven. There is no talk of alien beings. It was one God who was going to do it. The same God they had been praying to and worshiping all their lives. There is also no mention of Elijah going to another planet even though the Bible, in other books, mentions planets and constellations. The prophets knew that Elijah was going to Heaven.

Later on in the life of Elisha, who was mentored by Elijah, there is another encounter with angels, that travel in chariots. It happens when the wicked King of Syria was attempting to capture Elisha, since the prophet of God was thwarting all of the King’s plans to attack the Israelites:

Therefore sent he thither horses, and chariots, and a great host: and they came by night, and compassed the city about. And when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth, behold, an host compassed the city both with horses and chariots. And his servant said unto him, Alas, my master! how shall we do? And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them. And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha. 18And when they came down to him, Elisha prayed unto the LORD, and said, Smite this people, I pray thee, with blindness. And he smote them with blindness according to the word of Elisha. (2 Kings 6)

Again, there is no mention of any alien race. Elisha prayed to The Lord for his servant to be able to see the spiritual beings God had sent to protect them. These beings were not extraterrestrials, they were inter-dimensional spirits. And they were in chariots. Von Daniken and the Ancient Aliens commentators must force ideas into the Bible for any of their theories to make sense. Yet throughout Scripture there is one consistent theme: God is the creator and Lord of all. He is not from another planet- He made all the planets. The angels are also His creation and are subordinate to Him. And they are all spiritual, not extra-terrestrial. The Bible also states that God lives in the “third heaven” which is above the atmosphere and above outer space. It is a spirit realm. The Alien Gospel wants to replace God with an alien race as our creator. Because once God is removed, the Bible has no credibility.

Like Von Daniken, the crew in Prometheus searches for ancient aliens. David 4, right, an android (played by Michael Fassbender) helps Shaw find “truth.”

This is why Von Daniken has to attack the accuracy of the Bible. If the Bible does not have credibility, then our sin does not matter and humanity can focus on making themselves “god.” Movies like Prometheus incorporate the idea of evolution into the alien plan. As Ridley Scott stated, when discussing the plot of the film: “.. Darwin, and say if you go look at Darwin for the moment and look at the Darwinian idea, the Darwinian thesis, which is seemingly very logical. You know, you’re going from something that gradually comes to two legs and gradually here we are. Then you can go beyond that and you look more mathematically at the feasibility of how we’re able to be sitting here, right now, in this place.” To no surprise, in the movie, Shaw ends up getting into a debate with the Darwinian evolution advocate, Rayden Holloway, who is her fellow archeologist and lover in the film.

If aliens created humanity by seeding our DNA into the Earth and starting us off as primitive creatures that have turned into the “advanced humans” that we are today, then what are we evolving into for the future? As detailed in our article on the movie X-Men: First Class, the evolutionary theory at its core rests on the idea of man evolving into gods – the same deception used by the serpent to lure Eve into sin in the Garden of Eden. And when Satan and his angels return to Earth, that same false offer will still be given to humanity. In Prometheus, Robert Weyland, head of the Weyland Corporation has perfected human-like robots and compares this ability to being “like god.” David-4, the android played by Michael Fassbender, represents the next step in “evolution.” And during the expedition, Weyland’s ultimate goal of achieving “godhood” is revealed.
The Return of the Fallen

The Biblical significance of the fallen angel/Nephilim phenomenon today is that the Bible prophesies that the fallen angels will return to Earth in the end times before the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. Jesus stated: “But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.” (Matthew 24:37). The hallmark event of the days of Noah were the angelic interaction with humanity that led to the Nephilim and a sweeping judgment by God.

The book of Revelation details the two events that return the wicked angelic beings to Earth:

Revelation 9: 1 And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit. 2 And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit. 3And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power. 4 And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads. .. 6 And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them. 7 And the shapes of the locusts were like unto horses prepared unto battle; and on their heads were as it were crowns like gold, and their faces were as the faces of men. 8 And they had hair as the hair of women, and their teeth were as the teeth of lions. 9And they had breastplates, as it were breastplates of iron; and the sound of their wings was as the sound of chariots of many horses running to battle.

The same rebellious beings that were chained in the bottomless pit after the flood, will be released for a short time for the final years before the Second Coming. The fallen angels will once again be on Earth, wreaking havoc against humanity. In addition to their strange appearance, the Bible interestingly describes the sound of their wings as “chariots.”

The next set of angels who will come to Earth are described in Revelation 12:

3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. 4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth… 7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, 8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. 9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

In the days of Noah, the flood came from the rains from the sky and from the waters underneath the ground in the “deep.” In the end times, the flood of evil angels will come from the sky and from the deep of the bottomless pit. This is why this alien phenomenon holds relevance today for Christians. The bible states clearly that wicked angels will return to Earth and that they can masquerade, shape shift and present themselves in all sorts of deceptive appearances to trick humanity. Is it definite that they will say they are space aliens? No. But based on all the aforementioned and the way society is being conditioned for an alien arrival, it is certainly possible. What is certain is that the Bible says that in one form or another, fallen angels, led by Satan are going to return to Earth in the end times. Are Christians prepared to explain this using Bible scripture? Are pastors addressing these issues to their churches? If a UFO landed on Earth with “aliens” who stated they are going to help humanity reach a new level, would most Christians even understand what was truly going on? This is why Bible knowledge is necessary to avoid being deceived.
Demons As Aliens?

“UFO behaviour is more akin to magic than to physics as we know it… the modern UFO -nauts and the demons of past days are probably identical.” -Dr. Pierre Guerin, FSR Vol. 25, No. 1

“The UFO manifestations seem to be, by and large, merely minor variations of the age-old demonological phenomenon…” – John A. Keel, “UFOs: Operation Trojan Horse”

“A large part of the available UFO literature is closely linked with mysticism and the metaphysical. It deals with subjects like mental telepathy, automatic writing and invisible entities as well as phenomena like poltergeist [ghost] manifestation and possession. Many of the UFO reports now being published in the popular press recount alleged incidents that are strikingly similar to demonic possession and psychic phenomena.” – Lynn E. Catoe, UFOs and Related Subjects: USGPO, 1969; prepared under AFOSR Project Order 67-0002 and 68-0003

“We believe that the cultural preparations (or deliberate conditioning) of the world to view our alien visitors as powerful and highly evolved saviors makes the UFO phenomena the perfect motif for the Antichrist to exploit when he ascends to power. His ability to perform supernatural signs and wonders, his comprehensive plan for the peaceful unification of mankind and his connection to or origin from god-like alien entities will engender the masses to follow him into the biggest deception in history.” –Missler & Eastman, “Alien Encounters” pp. 295-296

It is Beginning and End’s belief that any sightings of “aliens” or “UFOs” on earth are times when people have been able to see inter-dimensional, spiritual beings. It is very possible that many of the people throughout history who have claimed to have seen or even encountered aliens face to face did have a supernatural encounter. But it was with a an evil angel or demonic entity. The Bible states that angels can change their appearance: “And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.” (2 Corinthians 11:14). Where the fallen angels and their demonic offspring once presented themselves to humanity as gods, demigods and titans, they now are presenting themselves alien spacemen.

John Keel, author of ‘Operation Trojan Horse’, at Stonehenge.

John Keel was a legendary ‘UFOlogist’ (although he grew to dislike this term and preferred to be called a “Fortean”). Keel, a Korean War Veteran, foreign radio correspondent, Army Staffer and very successful Hollywood writer, coined the term “Men in Black” and is the author of the book, the Mothman Prophecies, which was about a small town in West Virginia that repeatedly reported sightings of a winged “alien” with red eyes. Keel, who died in 2009, spent years interviewing people who claimed to have had alien encounters or seen UFOs all over the country and reading tens of thousands of reports on UFO sightings. Not only is he considered one of the foremost UFO/alien researchers in history, a movie was made based on his work in the Mothman Prophecies. His research into aliens and UFOs was the basis for much of the plot of the TV show “X-Files” and some science fictions writers speculate that the main character Fox Mulder was based on John Keel.

What is significant about Keel (and possibly why his name is not more renowned today) is that as he continued his research into the alien/UFO phenomenon, he changed his perspective entirely. As he stated in his book acclaimed book ‘Operation Trojan Horse’:

“Throughout most of history, the manifestations of demonology and demonopathy have been viewed from a religious perspective and explained as the work of the Devil. The bizarre manipulation and ill effects described in the demonological literature are usually regarded as the results of a great unseen conflict between God and the Devil. In UFO lore, the same conflict has been observed and the believers have explained it as a space war between the “Guardians” (good guys from outer space), who are protecting our planet, and some evil extraterrestrial race. The manifestations are the same, only the reference is different.
Did ancient man misinterpret UFO manifestations by placing them in religious context? Apparently not. The literature indicates that the phenomenon carefully cultivated the religious frame of reference in early times, just as the modern manifestations have carefully supported the extraterrestrial frame of reference. Operation Trojan Horse is merely the same old game in a new, updated guise. The Devil’s emissaries of yesteryear have been replaced by mysterious “men in black.” The quasi-angels of Biblical times have become magnificent spacemen. The demons, devils, and false angels were recognized as liars and plunderers by early man. The same imposters now appear as long-haired Venusians.” (p. 215-216)

Instead of siding with the Ancient Astronaut theories, Keel’s research led him to conclude that aliens are much more like angels and demons than beings from other planets. In fact the entire thrust of the book is that demons are disguising themselves as “alien life forms” as part of a deception against humanity. Also of importance is that Keel actually interviewed people, spoke with military officials, read official government reports and did present-day research as opposed to ancient astronaut theorists who look at relics from antiquity and basically guess that there was extra-terrestrial influence. Keel also warned people against watching movies and TV shows about aliens as they are just promoting the deception. And on this point, Keel and the Bible, are correct.

The Mystery of Tubal-cain – Did Fallen Angels Share Advanced Knowledge With Humanity?

In the movie Prometheus, the team of Astronauts sent out to discover the alien race encounter a giant megalithic structure on the alien planet that closely resembles a human head, which they dub, the “face of God.” This also falls in line with the Alien Gospel. Some of the main “evidence” used by ancient astronaut theorists is the presence of enormous megalithic structures all over the world. They claim that it would have been impossible for ancient civilizations to create these structures, which often have individual stones weight anywhere from 10-80 tons and form them into the massive structures with such mathematical precision (as many ancient megaliths such as the Pyramids of Giza are positioned to correspond to celestial alignments). So the conclusion of the Ancient Astronaut theorists, of course, is that aliens helped them build it. Many of these structures do indeed defy logic. Is it possible that evil angels and demons also provided knowledge to those who chose to worship them?

Extra-Biblical sources like the Book of Enoch, plainly state that fallen angels called “Watchers” (a term used in the book of Daniel) came to Earth and shared all manner of knowledge with humans. While the Bible does not share this same account, there is one interesting passage that alludes to this idea. In Genesis chapter 4, Cain, the first son born to Adam and Eve, murders his brother Abel and as a punishment, was cursed by God and forced to be a “fugitive and vagabond” on the Earth. Cain’s who in addition to being a murderer, lied to God directly and had no repentance for his sins, started a family after his banishment. His descendants are listed and they seem to be some of the first inventors mentioned in the Bible:

17 And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch [please note that this is NOT the same Enoch walked with God and was taken up to Heaven]. 18 And unto Enoch was born Irad: and Irad begat Mehujael: and Mehujael begat Methusael: and Methusael begat Lamech [please note this is NOT the same Lamech was the father of Noah]. 19 And Lamech took unto him two wives: the name of the one was Adah, and the name of the other Zillah. 20And Adah bare Jabal: he was the father of such as dwell in tents, and of such as have cattle. 21 And his brother’s name was Jubal: he was the father of all such as handle the harp and organ. 22 And Zillah, she also bare Tubalcain, an instructer of every artificer in brass and iron: and the sister of Tubalcain was Naamah. 23 And Lamech said unto his wives, Adah and Zillah, Hear my voice; ye wives of Lamech, hearken unto my speech: for I have slain a man to my wounding, and a young man to my hurt. 24If Cain shall be avenged sevenfold, truly Lamech seventy and sevenfold. (Genesis 4).

The first city was built by Cain. Interestingly, the next figure who builds a city in the Bible was the evil Nimrod, the builder of the Tower of Babel and historic founder of the Babylonian mystery religions. In addition to cities, Cain’s descendants invented tent-dwelling, instruments and metal crafts (the word “artificer” means a “craftsman”). And notice that the father of the children who were these great inventors, Lamech, was also a murderer like his grandfather Cain. And revels that his crime was much worse than Cain’s (v. 24). It seems that even in the ancient times before the flood, those who made a “deal with the devil” received earthly, temporary rewards.

In the occult, Tubal-cain is revered. There is a cult of Tubal Cain and several books about this obscure Biblical figure. In the book “The Pillars of Tubal Cain”, the authors state on page 1, that “At the secret heart of the Western Mystery Tradition lies the angelic wisdom that forms true magick…. It reveals the symbolism and meaning of the previously forbidden Luciferian occult tradition concerning the Watchers, or fallen angels, and the so-called ‘Prince of Darkness’ who is revealed to really be the Lord of Light.” (p. 1).

The “007” signature and a “Two Ball Cane” logo.

English occultist and advisor to Queen Elizabeth I, John Dee, was said to have gone by the code name “007” as an homage to Tubal Cain (“two balls and a cane”) and used a special signature, pictured above. In Freemasonry, it is said that “Tubal Cain” is word used during initiation into a certain degree and is also the name of a secret handshake. Manly P. Hall, considered one of the greatest Philosophers in Freemasonry, stated: “When the Mason learns that the key to the warrior on the block is the proper application of the dynamo of living power, he has learned the mystery of his Craft. The seething energies of Lucifer are in his hands, and before he may step onward and upward, he must prove his ability to properly apply energy. He must follow in the footsteps of his forefather, Tubal-Cain, who with the mighty strength of the war god hammered his sword into a plowshare.” (“The Lost Keys of Freemasonry”, p. 48)

Notice there is no mention of alien life forms here sharing any knowledge. Even in occult writings, the source of special, secret knowledge in ancient times was Lucifer, the Devil. Those with advanced occult knowledge do not even take any time addressing UFO’s or aliens. They clearly attribute the source of ancient esoteric knowledge that led to the constructions of megaliths, to fallen angelic beings and Satan himself.

A Freemasonic Golf Tournament with a coded name for Tubal Cain.

This should serve as a strong warning. The alien deception at its core is satanic. It is just another effort to lure humanity away from God, His Word and salvation in Jesus Christ. In describing the methods of the Antichrist, the Bible states: 8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: 9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. (1 Thessalonians 5). Satan will repeatedly use deception and false “signs and wonders” to trick humanity so that people will not believe in Jesus Christ and spend eternity in damnation. Notice it all says that the Satanically-empowered Antichrist will have “all power.” The manifestations will not be parlor tricks. There are going to be real supernatural events occurring from an evil source of power. Christians need to be prepared to discuss these issues with non-believers. Instead of saying aliens exists and calling them “space brothers” who may even be “free from sin” as the Vatican has stated on record, those who truly believe in Jesus as their Savior need to equip themselves with Godly knowledge and start warning people of the truth as stated in the Bible.

Who is Prometheus?

The famous statue of Prometheus at Rockefeller Center in New York City.

The title of the film is based on Prometheus, who according to Wikipedia: “..is a Titan, the son of Iapetus and Themis, and brother to Atlas, Epimetheus and Menoetius. He was a champion of mankind, known for his wily intelligence, who stole fire from Zeus and gave it to mortals.[2] Zeus then punished him for his crime by having him bound to a rock while a great eagle ate his liver every day only to have it grow back to be eaten again the next day. His myth has been treated by a number of ancient sources, in which Prometheus is credited with – or blamed for – playing a pivotal role in the early history of mankind.”
Prometheus stole divine fire to become a champion for humanity, sharing things that were hidden from them. In the movie, Prometheus is the name of the ship of the team sent out to find the advanced alien race that has invited them to their planet. In a viral marketing video for the movie, Peter Weyland is addressing a technology conference and provides the exact same explanation of Promtheus’ origins.

Notice the themes of the speech by Weyland: humanity evolved with help from the gods, became technologically advanced and can now be “gods” themselves. And Weyland’s secret goal in the film is to achieve immortality (and he uses a sleeper agent aboard the ship to help him accomplish this goal). According to spoilers regarding the movie, one of the crew members aboard the Prometheus steal some of the Ampule cylinders from the Engineers’ temple for scientific examination. As is the case in many science fiction films, the aliens are displeased with the way humanity has managed itself and are now going to wipe out the human race. The Engineers prepare for an all out assault on the planet Earth. However there is a rebel alien (who in the film appears humanoid), who was specifically responsible for designing human DNA and created humanity. This creator alien helps the crew of the Prometheus, by providing special alien technology to assist them in their escape. This technology is the last hope of humanity surviving the “wrath of the gods.”

Like Prometheus of mythology, a rebellious “son of god” steals hidden knowledge to take back to humanity for its liberation and evolution. Madame H.P. Blavatsky, founder of Theosophy and the inspiration for the modern New Age Movement, wrote: ” The allegory of the fire of Prometheus is another version of the rebellion of the proud Lucifer [“light-bringer”].” (‘The Secret Doctrine’, 2:237). Blavatsky was writing this as an occultist and author of ‘Lucifer Magazine” so this was not a Christian perspective by any stretch. Yet the conclusion is the same: the myth of Prometheus is just a spin on the account of Lucifer in the Garden of Eden:

Genesis 3:1 Now the serpent was more [subtle] than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? 2And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: 3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. 4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: 5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

Satan’s false promise of “godhood” never came to pass for Adam and Eve. instead they became sinners for the first time, realized their shame and were banished from the Garden of Eden. God told them they would die if they ate it and not only did they eventually physically die, they became spiritually dead as sin entered their lives. But The Lord in His mercy, not only made animal skins for Adam and Eve to wear, He promised them a child who would come in the future and redeem them (Jesus Christ, whose lineage back to Adam is listed in the book of Luke). The “offer of godhood” was a lie from Satan based on twisting what God had said, and he has continued to offer that same deception in thousands of different forms through history. In the film, it is the aliens who are the “gods” and the humans who are aspiring to “be god” through ancient, hidden knowledge or the “fire of Prometheus.” This is the exact idea the movie rests on. Weyland and Vickers in the film are not just trying to reach the alien system to make money. They are seeking godhood and thus the same lie of Satan and the myth of Prometheus is carried out in the film.

Interestingly, the ‘Ancient Aliens’ TV Show’s production company is called ‘Prometheus Entertainment’.

Conclusion

Ridley Scott directs Noomi Rapace.

Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices. (2 Corinthians 10:11)

In what will undoubtedly be a blockbuster smash hit, the Prometheus movie will continue to implant the notion in the minds of viewers that aliens, not God, are the creators of humanity. And this creation, I hear is best viewed on a fantastic Home Entertainment system but I digress. But the Bible has explained the truth behind this phenomena it is a deception by fallen angelic beings who can masquerade as beings of light if they so choose. For those who are not Christian, again please note that deceptions like the Alien Gospel will attack the Bible but then draw much of their language and basis from the Bible scriptures themselves. And note that even in occult circles, those researching the knowledge of ancient civilizations are looking to the Bible’s accounts. Why? Because the Bible is true. None of the ancient civilizations attribute supernatural events to beings from other planets. But ancient writings from all cultures are filled with references to gods, angels and hybrid offspring. Do not be deceived. This is a spiritual war and the souls of humanity are the prize. Satan and his minions will use any means to bring people away from God, to doubt the Bible and certainly to not believe in Jesus Christ. Including entertainment and media. Does this mean that it is wrong to watch any program or show about aliens? No. That is not the point of this article. The point is to show the spiritual nature behind the alien/UFO phenomenon is real and not “just a movie.” Even if you do not believe in aliens, but are distracted from God (and the fact the sins you commit matter to God and will be judged one day), the Devil is achieving his goals. Look to the Bible and find the real truth. And know that whether it is aliens, financial collapse or world war, the only protection for your soul is belief in Jesus Christ as your Savior.

By giving His life on the cross, Jesus Christ defeated Satan, the fallen angels and the demonic spirits of the dead Nephilim. And He is going to return and end the “alien invasion” of these evil spirits in the world. In the interim, Satan is trying to bring as many souls with him to hell as possible. That is why belief in Jesus Christ has to be attacked, but again get to know Jesus before rejecting Him and do not let “entertainment” dissuade you from believing that you can go to Heaven. There are good, holy angels who obey God and follow His Word. And the Bible says: “The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them. “ (Psalm 34:7). Trusting in God will lead to His protection today and eternally. Instead of of using secret knowledge, God has given His Bible to the world to let the planet know that He loves every person and will freely forgive us of our sins if we seek Him.

For Christians, continue to study The Word and equip yourselves to discuss these issues. Questions about aliens, the origins of human life, the origin of the universe, evolution and others are all very valid issues for non-believers to question the bible about. The age we are living in, where scientific breakthroughs happen on an almost weekly basis, along with the mass media, can put pressure on those who believe the Bible to understand so they can explain how the Bible addresses all these questions. So it is time to step up to the challenge. A Christian does not have to convince a non-believer the Bible is true but should be able to share the Bible’s answers to these questions with Scripture and then let God do the work: “But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you…” (1 Peter 3:15). And pray that people will see through the deception of the Alien Gospel and look to the true Gospel of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

As a Christian all my life i think this article has little merit to it. For one it is fiction and anyone who takes this film seriously does not know how to discern reality from fiction. I write sci-fi myself and know better. Just because the director has certain beliefs not not make it so you are somehow being forced to follow what he does. I don’t buy into UFOs and i don’t buy into Demons for UFOs either. Demons are non-corporial as they do not occupy this physical realm. Possession is a whole other thing. That is metaphysical in nature. So no need to become fanatical here over a work of fiction and nothing more.

“As a Christian all my life…”

Perhaps you mean “As a Bible disbelieving Christian all my life”. A harsh word perhaps, but a wise man will take it to heart and study his Bible a bit more properly.

The passages quoted are spot-on. Here are a few more:

      1Pe 3:19 By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;
1Pe 3:20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.

It is clear that the angels were disobedient in the days of Noah.

      2Pe 2:4 For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;
      2Pe 2:5 And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;

Again, it is clear that the angels that sinned is linked to the days of Noah and the destruction of the old world.

Jud 1:6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.

Mmm… so there were some angels that did not keep their first estate. That left their own habitation…

And yes, angels do not marry and are not given in marriage. That does not mean they cannot take the form of man and procreate. The men of Sodom and Gomorrah wanted to have sex with angels in human form.

Just interestingly, in Kung-Pow (a must see comedy) as well as Mars Attacks, the invaders are driven away by word and tongue (portrayed as bad music in Mars Attacks).

Thank you VERY much to the author for a brilliant article.

Peace if possible – truth at all costs!
The Bible and the Bible alone!
Sola scriptura! Sola gratia, Sola Christos!

The only thing not included in this article is a completely different theme and should not be in this article, but to speak my mind completely regarding truth:
No organisation has all the truth (unfortunately). So stay away from organisations. And keep God’s Sabbath, because it is truth and it runs from Friday sundown to Saturday sundown. Spend some time with God on the time HE set for the date. A girl who does not arrive for a date is not serious about the man who invited her.

Hope to see you all for Sabbath’s in the new heavens and earth as Isaiah prophesied:
Isa 66:23 And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD. (King James Version – the one without all the changes and removed texts)

@FollowerOfAss there should be a limit to how serious one should take it cuz people like them are the one that give christians a bad name

also no one follow the bible completely if you married a women who is not a virgin you can stone her to death and here in the US if people would truly be christians as they claim there would be millions of women stone to death every year. the U.S is the new Babylonia, Sodom and gomora

they just follow it it if it is convenient to them and here is where point to no man is perfect bla bla like everyone does

Also, since an atheist who I suspect is really a satanic messenger, extols the alleged Christians who trashed this article, then you had better think hard that maybe what the article says is correct. As for luci and A255, they are satanbots pretending to be Christians. Another demonic trick.

The point of being a Christian is to align your life with Christ. There’s no taking Christianity “too seriously” in Roman 3:23 it says we all fall short of the glory of the lord but just because we’re not perfect doesn’t mean we shouldnt keep praying and reading our word to be well equipped. Would you take a math test that you haven’t studied for? No, so the point is to prepare yourself. Be vigilant of your surroundings & be ready to answer questions that people have about your faith.

I find this page to be wonderful and nice but also affected by the views and desires all people have.On top of it all is the desire for ones religious beliefs to be right. The Christian movement has had to face the very real fact that not only are we not alone in this universe. But chances are we have been visited for a very long time.As always, when faced with a reality that might challenge long held views. Many fundamentalist play the devils card. Why,because if i can say that the ETS are demotic beings then that protects my place in this universe as Gods favorite.God created the heavens and the earth and the last thing he created was us,man. Therefore we are the center of it all.Its alright to believe what we want but when it comes to the Ets ,The suns of God or the Anunnaki we should be very open minded.Theres a very strong chance that this whole conflict between God and Satan dose not start with the true creator who has no enermies, but with two Et brothers.Enki and Enlil. Two beings who helped create man and later fought over the direction in which humans should go.This is also a belief. What im saying is lets not be so close minded in our view of the ETs in an atempt to protect present views that we fail to see the whole picture. If Enki is the serpent and Enlil is Yahweh as many among you believe then both followers of THE SERPENT and THE followers of the God of Israel are under the ANUNNAKI one way or the other.Think about that and God bless you all.

When did this become a fact? Where is the evidence of this??

As a follower of Christ, I have no problem saying that I’m eagerly awaiting this film as a fan of good storytelling. Ridley Scott is an excellent storyteller and I’m a huge fan of his work. We don’t even know what this movie’s exact plot is….much of what you wrote as being ‘plot elements’ is widely considered by fans anticipating the film to be elements of plot hoaxes. Nothing is confirmed yet and won’t be for a good long time. And as to the comments about Shaw rejecting her faith, there is nothing confirmed or official out there anywhere that proves that assumption, and it is an assumption, in any way shape or form. Give it time and the opportunity to present itself before you rip it apart….you may very well be right, but you can’t possibly be yet as just about everything you’ve used as evidence is from rumour and speculation…and trust me, I’d know, I’ve being looking my self.

I have to say that the Aliens as Gods subtext you’re so horrified by doesn’t bother me either, and only because….it’s a story and one that, no matter what it contains, could not possibly affect my belief in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, Son of the Living God, who came to us in human form to pay the price for our sins. I’m not going to let any film or concept affect my belief, ever. Jesus is in my heart and will never leave it. Nothing can bother me so much as to change that, nothing. Why you let this get under your skin so thoroughly is beyond me….and it irritates me when I see fellow believers take fiction and let it bother them so much…..faith is about belief in the absence of proof and true faith is like a mountain, untouchable, immovable and unshakeable by anything; especially a fictional sci-fi film.

I’m not even bothered by the idea that alien life might exist out there. why? Because, in God’s vast and beautiful creation, there’s no telling what He brought into being and to suggest that we know for certain that it can’t be possible just because we believe in Him is arrogant and condescending to Him. We don’t and can’t possibly know what He chose to do with His creation and to suggest that we do is to look Him in the eye and say we know better. Aliens could land tomorrow on the lawn of the White House and I’d still believe in my God who created the Heavens and the Earth and gave us His one and only Son, so that we may live and survive the second death.

      Hi Jason,

Thanks for your comment. First off, as I said, the article’s point is not to criticize the watching of a film. It is the idea that inspired the film, as stated by the director himself that is at issue. Even if the movie will not affect your faith, we as Christians are called to live for others and spread the true Gospel to the nations. Movies are a powerful and influential force in society. And these ideas which seek to discredit and attack the Bible, “explain away” God and twist Biblical accounts are indeed dangerous. The Da Vinci Code should be an easy example of the effect these ideas can have on the minds of the public. So if our heart is for the unsaved, we should be concerned about big budget productions that will reinforce untruthful notions about the Bible, origin of humanity and the who “god” is.

And as for knowing what God has created in the universe, we can know: “Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, unless he reveals his secret unto his servants the prophets.” (Amos 3:7). This is why going by the Bible is so important. It is where God reveals Himself, His nature and His plans for all creation. And there is no mention of alien beings anywhere. Yet we do know angels can masquerade as all sorts of creatures. You said if aliens landed it would not shake your faith. But it could definitely shake the faith of others. Especially with books and movies about aliens creating humanity bombarding society.

As for the detail about Dr. Shaw losing her faith in God in favor of the Alien Gospel, that is not “mere speculation” and neither are the other details mentioned. In fact more details will be updated in time (like Shaw’s defense of her faith in the beginning of the expedition against Holloway, who is a Dawinian evolutionist). God bless.

You’re Nuts, the whole preposition of your argument is based on absolute belief on a series of texts, retranslated half a dozen times, most of which (significantly in the new testament) where written at the time of the people involved, in some cases many tens of years later. Story get exaggerated over a period of a few years in the same language never mind tens of years after the events and 2000 years worth of interpretation and retranslation.

Taking Revelations as a case in point, the historical evidence shows John to be a bitter misogynistic, bitter old man who (supposedly) wrote revelations after a lifetime of being ignored and ridiculed. So not all biased in his reason for writing it.

On the subject of this outright devout belief, you base your arguments on the aforesaid texts as though they are some kind of truth with absolutely no reasonable basis for them being anything other than written by a bunch of people. God is infallible (apparently) man is not, so how can the writings of men pushing their own religious and political views be considered any kind of truth?

I laugh. LOL. Look, see? i just laughed. I;’m sure the comeback would have been will you still be laughing as you burn for eternity etc etc. No probably not, because from an atheist point of view there’s is no hot place and from a religious point of view any supreme being worth it’s salt would want it’s children to think for themselves instead of sticking doggedly to mistranslated texts from 2000+ years ago. God (again apparently) is either a father or shepherd, can’t be both.

A father wants his children to surpass him, a shepherd at the end of the day wants to keep his flock in line so he can benefit from them, be it benevolently or otherwise.

My point is Christian’s Biblical accounts has been derived from Septuagint following Christ’s example and that’s where the reformation Bible has been translated from(Geneva and KJV1611), the Hebrew’s account could fit Hebrews own agenda as well as any other form of translations from Roman Catholic and the Anglican but ours is unadulterated. We don’t use the aramaic/masoretic text for the basis of translation so your statement “bible was written in hebrew” is not applicable.

Oh, I see and accept your point as you speak from a christianity standpoint. I speak in broader terms and the fact is that all abrahamic religions have a hebrew language origin, therefor the original texts were in hebrew, regardless of what languages they were later translated and corrupted into. Christianity does not have exclusive rights to the original text you know, I understand most christians think they are the only true religious group but share the love and the origins my friend, they go back way before the Torah. But again, I accept your point, though I completely disagree with your interpretation.

      Jason,
I think it’s great that you have such a strong faith. But remember something, not all believers share that.
Some brethren are weaker in faith, the bible says so. Films like this, and there are quite a few, could do real damage to those brethren. It could be, that promoting such a genre as science-fiction, is more dangerous to our fellow believers, than we may think. Remember Paul talked about some believers having their faith shipwrecked. I’m sure you believe we, as Christians, have a real enemy, namely satan and his demons. And I’m sure you are intelligent enough to know that he will use the very best tactics to destroy souls, the bible says so.
I myself have a strong faith, but as I watched the Ancient Alien series on the History channel, I realized that I needed to explain away many things being said, because the statements were very persuasive. So, likewise, movies like this are designed to alter our focus. These are the most deceptive times, with technology to back it up. Our time is better spent on behalf of our brethren and those being led to salvation, than it is on our own mental pleasure derived from fantasy stories. That’s all.

I feel like everyone on this thread, as well as the writer of the article, needs to put in a little time studying the art of narrative. After all, isn’t God the Great Storyteller? I disagree with the premise of this article, but also with everyone who objects to it because they think “Fiction isn’t important”. Neither are true.

The problem with this movie isn’t the “Astronaut God” theory or whatever it is. The concept of a superior alien being creating mankind is a very legitimate way to use mythology to say things about God. For instance, the classic Sci-Fi, “The Day the Earth Stood Still”. In that story, the superior alien race that created mankind returns to destroy us because of our misuse of all we’ve been given. Through the course of the story, the aliens learn compassion, and choose to spare humanity in an act of grace. Sound familiar? It’s a lot like a certain conversation God had with Moses about the fate of the israelites.

The real issue with Prometheus is the portrayal of “God” in that context. The “Engineers” in Prometheus are painted as pointless creator/destroyers with no compassion or mercy. That’s not a portrayal of God that I can get behind.

THAT’S what’s wrong with Prometheus. I’m tired of people saying “It’s fiction. Don’t take it so seriously.” It’s very serious! I’ve been pursuing a career in filmmaking for 12 years, because that’s how serious I take it. Storytelling is one of the best ways to imitate God. Don’t kid yourself into thinking there isn’t a right and wrong to it.

    Beginning & End,
This article is great. I love your descriptions & perspectives.

On the topic of the Nephilim & VonDaniken’s crazed theories, one thing is neglected which is very important here. Jesus Christ said that ANGELS DO NOT MARRY NOR ARE GIVEN IN MARRIAGE. This statement alone kills VonDaniken’s theory that the Nephilim were fallen angels that married and proliferated.

Furthermore, INTERPRETATIONS! How many times has this Nephilim/Sons of God phrase been interpreted? How can we be sure that Sons of God means Angels? We aren’t sure. In fact, in some Christian Churches, i.e.-Catholic, that phrase means those who followed the true God. There was much idolatry back then as there is now. There were definitions given for these reasons, those of God, and those not of God…..How many times has the Bible been interpreted and re-written incorrectly? In fact, there is only one truly sanctioned translation of the Bible and that is the Douay-Rheims version translated by St. Jerome from Latin Vulgate who was commissioned by the Pope of the time. As an example, many people believe that Jesus had brothers and sisters because a translation of the Bible states that a crowd told Christ that his mother, brothers and sisters were waiting for Him outside. This translation of “brothers and sisters” was actually “brethren” which means relatives or blood relations, not necessarily siblings. So who is to say these translations are correct?

My thought is, take it from the mouth of God Himself. If Jesus said angels don’t marry, then they don’t. In fact, it is well known that angels (at least the fallen ones) are jealous of humans because the Bible tells us that God made man in His image and likeness. Not even the angels were created that way, nor animals, nor plants, etc. Only man. The Bible tells us that the human body (as created by God) is the Temple of the Holy Spirit. Angels, it is known, are pure intellect, which is why Satan has had to work on possessing the body of a human to act as an Antichrist (demonic human) and False Prophet (demonic human) to do his bidding.

      March 19, 2012 at 3:34 pm

      Hi Beverly,

Thank you very much for your comments. I will just address a couple of the questions you raise:

      1. “Sons of God” meaning Angels/ the interpretation of the Nephilim — The phrase “sons of god” in the Bible has gone through just one interpretation. The Old Testament books of Genesis and Job (the only books where the phrase occurs) were written in Paleo Hebrew, a language many people still read and interpret today. Whether one looks at the Masoretic text or the Dead Sea Scrolls, the translation is straightforward. Contrary to popular belief, the Bible has not gone through “hundreds of translations.” The Masoretic text was based on Hebrew manuscripts from the 12th -14th centuries. When the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered, which were written over 1,000 years earlier, the manuscripts accuracy was confirmed 99%. Additionally, the Septuagint, the oldest version of the Old Testament, dating back to the 2nd century BC, translates b’nai ha elohim as “angels of God” in the book of Job.

So my point is that the Bible is very clear that the “sons of God” in Genesis 6 were indeed wicked, rebellious angels, who took human women as wives and bore children with them (the Nephilim). For more on this see the Beginning and End article on the Nephilim.

      2. Angels Marrying — Jesus did indeed say that angels do not marry. But that was in reference to angels in Heaven, who are godly. Evil angels, obviously do not follow God’s commands and will be punished for their sin. We see this referenced in Jude:

“And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. 7Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. ”

Notice these angels are ALREADY being imprisoned and punished for their sin of “going after strange flesh” and “fornication.”

2 Peter 2 also references these sinful angels:

“For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment; 5And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly; ”

So again, there is a set of angels who committed a sin involving illicit union with beings other than themselves (hence the term “strange flesh”) and were punished for it.

I hope that helps. God bless.

What a wonderful article to take in. It is amazing the depth of contemplation for every aspect of life. I have Christian friends who do not watch films or tv which could influence their thinking in negative ways. I can see the positive aspect in that. I, on the other hand, love a good story especially sci fi. I do agree ( maybe it wasn’t said in this way..) that alien and demonic films desensitise one to things which should be shocking, or obviously deviant. I just like to keep my finger on the pulse of what is going on.
As to the angels marrying- marriage is a holy sacrement and is a sacred mystery supposedly only to be administered by God- so I can see why it doesn’t work for them. Thanks again for your insiteful work!

“The bible never states the earth is a sphere.” — Dr. O”

                  You are right!

The Bible never states the earth is a sphere!!

Neither does the Bible state the earth is a flat!!!

In fact, I have never seen the Bible ever describing the shape of the earth. It simply is not there!

Usually the Bible uses an apparent description of the physical world. I mean, it describes the physical world as it appears to the eyes of the writers/viewers without going into its scientific backgrounds.

One example, even when we know today that the whole earth is spherical, our geography books describe a lot about “FLAT” lands!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Another example, even today, my son’s science book says, “the Sun rises in the east and sets in the west”!!! Scientifically this is not accurate as the Sun actually never rises or sets! But it is the easiest way of saying or presenting our surroundings. This is how it is perceived in the simplest way. And the Bible is not a book on science!

But, when it states something on our physical world which is not apparent to our eyes, it happens to be also accurate!!!

                  Example:

“He (God)………………. hangs the earth on nothing.” (Job 26:7)

Here is a scientific fact in an ancient language written thousands of years before!!!
                  ***********************************************

“The only thing close is a reference to it being a circle, as in a flat disk.” — Dr. O”

It cannot be a circular flat disk in Isaiah!

                  Why?

Because the same Isaiah states that the earth has four corners!!!!!!!!!!!!

He (God)will ………….. gather the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.” (Isaiah 11:12).

A circular flat disk does not have four corners!!!

As I said these are poetic expressions of stating certain things in the simplest and easiest way. Still today we use four directions as East, West, North and South, whereas mathematically we have 360 degrees of directions.

In day to day parlance we still use easy language describing what appears to our eyes without being accused of as unscientific!
                  ********************************************

“Three-dimensional… as in… you can’t see its entirety no matter how far up above it you sit. moot point, you obviously believe a circle is the same as a sphere…” — Dr. O”

You have already summed it up all well what I wanted to say!

Yes, the earth, though it is a sphere, looks exactly as a circle in the sky if seen from outer space!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you have any doubt please watch another spherical/globular body in the sky in a full moon day. The moon, though it is another spherical/globular body in the sky looks exactly like a CIRCLE in the sky!!!!!!!!!!!!

Though it is 3-dimensional, we do not see the entire sides of the moon!

So, the conclusion is that I cannot be accused of as unscientific when I say: “I see the circle of moon in the sky”!!!!!!!!!!!

                    Hi Dr. O,

                    Thanks for the compliments!

“God hangs the earth on nothing” – is a poetic way of describing that the earth exists in empty space!!!

How is it possible? May be because of gravity, or the result of equilibrium between the centripetal and centrifugal forces of the interplanetary/interstellar/intergalaxy forces etc.

It is for science to discover this because man is equipped with reason and God asks us to use it (“Come now, let us reason together, says the LORD” – Isaiah 1:18)!!!

I talked specifically about Job 26:7 because I have read a few articles by some intellectuals who teach erroneously that the Bible holds the ancient world view of earth as a flat land fasted on some huge pillars and blah blah! But Job 26:7 shows their teaching is incorrect.

The bible is an awesome tool to learn how to live according to God, but certainly it`s not a scientific text, by no mean! it didn`t even pretends to be, in fact, despite God inspired the writers of the so called Bible (which, in fact, are several books), it was written by men, nevertheless, who lived in a certain place and time…If you take literally it, you are nothing but a”willful ignorant”, because if so, lets think that the Earth is flat, or the stars are just “lights hanging there up in the sky”

I remember reading this exact same article on Holy Ghost in the Machine – but who came up with it first?

Regardless, this is a well thought out article. If any of you have the opportunity, you should try to look at the Book of Enoch. It is quoted a few times throughout the Bible, but has been taken out in the last few centuries. In it, it describes in detail how the fallen angels took wives amongst themselves and created the Giants, and taught ancient man ‘astrology’, amongst other things. They wanted to be gods. This is where our demons of today come from, those beings made of part blood and part spirit.

Demons can bring themselves up on our plane, and perpetrate heinous works upon man. They do indeed exist and are real. To deny their existence is just plain stupid.

      Hi Kakumei —

Thanks for your comments. First off, I can absolutely assure you that Beginning and End is the author of this article. I am familiar with the Holy Ghost in The Machine site and they often re-post articles from Beginning and End without giving a proper byline below the headline or clearly indicating who the author of the article is (if you check this article on their site they have a very, very tiny font reference to Beginning and End at the top). But all articles on Beginning and End are original content. We would never post anyone’s content or quote any other article without properly and clearly citing the author.

Regarding the Book of Enoch, I have read it and own a copy and I completely agree with you. It goes into great detail about the fallen angels marrying women, giving birth to the Nephilim and also sharing technologies with humanity. However, I do not rank the Book of Enoch on par with Bible scripture, which I believe to be the inspired Word of God, so I wanted to establish that the Bible details these ideas all on its own.

One interesting point you bring up that I almost never hear anyone mention is the idea that demons are the spirits of the dead Nephilim. I completely agree with you on this as well as them being very real and able to to still interfere, harm or influence humanity today. Excellent comments. God bless.

      Hi Yolanda,

Thanks for your comments. The Bible does not have a verse that says “an angel is….” but it certainly provides lots of information for us to discern what they are. They are a different race of being from us. And they are more powerful than humans. In discussing Jesus becoming a human being, Hebrews 1 says “he was made a little lower than the angels.” Contrary to popular belief, they have bodies. In Genesis we see angels eating with Abraham and at 2 angels eating at Lot’s house. They can change their appearance to resemble men. As for their what they are physically made of, For more detail on this I would look to 1 Corinthians 15:

39 All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds. 40 There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another. 41 There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory.

Paul is clearly comparing and contrasting different species and objects. And the “celestial body” is the type of body a Heavenly being, like an angel has as opposed to a terrestrial body, which is the type Earth-born humans have. But the two bodies are able to reproduce, which is what took place at Genesis 6. I hope that helps. God bless.

I think this article is spot-on and I am sharing it with all my friends, believers and unbelievers, along with evidence to show that it’s primary premise and (and implications) is false. It’s premise of naturalistic, intelligent alien life in outer space (that seeds earth with life) is in fact contradicted by mathematical probability calculations. The probability for occurrence of all 816 necessary parameters for intelligent life is 1:10^-1054. Maximum possible number of life support bodies in observable universe? 10^22.

Thus, less than 1 chance in 10^1032 exists that even one such life-support body would occur anywhere in the universe without invoking divine miracles. Rather than demonstrate evidence against God’s existence, the existence of exo-planetary life (if ever discovered) would merely affirm the existence of a miracle performing God with at a minimum, the above named characteristics. In any case, the universe is not big enough and there aren’t enough physical resources in the entire universe for a planet other than Earth that fulfills all the required parameters for intelligent life to exist.

    http://www.reasons.org/files/compendium/compendium_part3.pdf

Consider that the French mathematician, Emile Borel, in his book, “Probabilities and Life” (’62; in chapters 2 &3), explains that any occurrence with a chance of happening that is less than 1:10^50, is an occurrence with such a slim probability that it is statistically considered to be indistinguishable from zero. Most mathematicians and scientists have accepted this statistical standard for many purposes.

Thus, the probability estimate above shows that earth is the only inhabitable planet with life support capability by, at a minimum, a factor 49 powers of magnitude less than what is indistinguishable than zero. This means that due to the mathematically impossible probability, without invoking God’s existence (which will be denied in the movie), it is an outright deception to perpetuate the modern day myth of intelligent, naturalistic life on other planets, as the movie Prometheus will attempt to do.

Contrary to those who may find a unique earth to be philosophically unappealing,, the fact remains that neither the vastness of space, nor the abundant numbers of exo-planets have any causal ability to produce little green men, or even microscopic life. Additionally, there is no evidence that life has to exist wherever it can exist, and no evidence that life begins from naturalistic abiogenesis. Rather, the evidence continues to show that a long list of known parameters for life must be met with exquisite precision that defies probability. In other words, if any life is found on an exo-planet, it would literally be a miracle, which then invites God back to the table of discussion.

    Which God?

It would have to be a God who is independent of our 4 dimensions of length, width, height and linear time. In other words, it would have to be an extra-dimensional. immaterial God. Why? Because any God who can do miracles like create or sustain life on an extra-solar planet, must be extra-dimensional. Miracles imply an independence from the 4 dimensions we are accustomed and limited to. Such a God would not be limited in this way.

It would have to be a purposeful God. The universe displays purpose in that iit didn’t have to exist, yet it does. In other words, independent of matter, energy, space and time itself, the universe must have been chosen to exist. Choice-making implies purpose, rather than undirected, natural processes.

It would have to be an intelligent God. The universe’s extreme fine tuning for it to exist and for intelligent life requires a careful, delicate, ordered, planned design. Designing, planning, careful arranging…These are all actions that have their source in a mind. How intelligent of a mind? Estimates of the required fine-tuning for the expansion rate of the universe are about 1:10^120th power. The precision of this extreme fine tuning of the expansion rate of the universe exceeds the precision of mankind’s most sophisticated, designed object, MIT/CalTech’s particle wave detector….by a factor of 10^97. This means that the God responsible for the creation of the universe and of it’s fine tuning for intelligent life, is at least 10^97 times more intelligent than CalTech’s most intelligent scientists.

And finally, this God must be very loving. If the Creator God was not loving, then the living conditions for life to exist on earth would be less ideal than they are. After all, what evil creator would allow such a well designed environment for intelligent life to both comprehend and enjoy? Yet we know that the universe is not completely inhospitable, since we are alive today to both comprehend and enjoy Earth. It follows then that the creator of the universe must also be a loving God.

A comparison of alleged gods from a wide range of ancient religious texts reveal that this extra-dimensional , purposeful, intelligent and loving God is the only God that matches the description of the God of the Bible.

After seeing the film today, and then reading this article – I can honestly say, you’re way off base. The whole film – like the Bible itself – is an allegory.
As for it being ‘anti christian’, I have to point out, that it actually shows how Naomi Rapace’s faith is shaken, but not stirred – and this is reflected in the symbolism of her re-donning the cross, her missionary father bestowed upon her, as a little girl.
Even if – and this is only an ‘if’, here, mankind was created by an alien race – the question still remains – and remained in the film as well: who created the creators?
I’m sure the Biblical allegory wasn’t lost upon the more astute movie goers. David, being the name of the robot, for one – and the ‘father’ – CEO of the Weyland corporation – was an obvious allegory for the Father and Son. Another Creator/created situation. Did you pay attention, to the scene when the ‘Father’ woke from cryogenics? Did it look like his disciples were sort of doting on him – and, wow, David was washing his feet? Miss that one?
I think Ridley Scott is brilliant – I don’t see any agenda here – except to present a differing view beyond what the stale mainstay is – that we just ‘poof’! Appeared out of nowhere. let’s be more discerning in out thoughts than this.

Hey Eponymous — Thank you very much for your comments. I don’t want to get into divulging all of the story of the film so I will just make a few points. This film features:

      Ancient aliens

Aliens “seeding” the human race and being portrayed as superadvanced “gods”

Aliens being used as the explanation for ancient structures.

      Human-Alien hybrids.

Humans who are desperately seeking and devoted to evolving into “gods.”

So given that these are the main points of the article, I don’t know how you can say it is “way off.” As for your points about what may have been references to Christianity, that is the point of the article. It’s not that the movie is “anti-Gospel” it’s just preaching another Gospel. I appreciate that you took these scenes to be an homage and tribute to Christianity, but I respectfully disagree. Thanks again.

I think I posted this in the wrong spot the last time.

I feel like everyone on this thread, including the writer of the article, needs to put in a little time studying the art of narrative. After all, isn’t God the Great Storyteller? I disagree with the premise of this article. Prometheus is anything but an argument against the existence of God. But, I’m also against everyone who objects the article it because they think “It’s just fiction”. Fiction is a big deal. God uses it profoundly, and so can we.

  24. Jeremy says

    June 9, 2012 at 2:37 pm

Wow. Now that I’m looking at the entire entertainment segment of this site, I’m starting to understand. This site is just wholly against secular entertainment. I’m getting the impression the writers here see Hollywood as a place where worshipers of satan sit around trying to think of how they can best deceive the masses.

Hate to break it to you, but I’ve been to Hollywood. I’m a part of the industry. It’s just a place where people try to make money. Personally, I try to honor God in my filmmaking, and I’m not the only one. But the fact is, these people are in business to make a profit.

They’re also better storytellers than Christians. So-called “Christian-filmmakers”? They suck. Practically all of them. Seriously. Why is that?

For my money, it’s because of these kind of fallacious ideas about story. The writer of this article says this film “Denies God”. Why? Because there’s no literal God in the story? By the same argument, every parable in scripture also denies God. Have you noticed that there isn’t a literal God or Christ in ANY bible parable? That’s because God, when playing a relevant role, is metaphorical. The father, the land-owner, the sower… Similarly, God is metaphorical in ‘Prometheus’.

This belief among many Christians that all biblical truth can only be communicated literally is a huge problem. It makes all of our storytelling blunt, amateurish and stupid. Jesus created believable mythologies in his parables. The same storytelling techniques seem to offend us from any other source.

  25. You're so vane... you really think this film is ...? says

    June 10, 2012 at 1:38 pm

I don’t really understand the critique of the film. The film never outright rejects God. In fact, the idea of loosing one’s faith and re-gaining it is deeply involved in the film.

The main heroine, Dr. Elizaboth Shaw is exploring the possibility that alien race engineered humans. We see from the dream that she has a historic belief and curiosity about God. She wears a cross on her neck to attest to that. There’s a dialog between her and the partnering scientist that questions the existence on basis that aliens engineered human kind, which is portrayed rather odd in the film, since they don’t exactly engineer anything, and merely mix their DNA with pre-existing life on the planet. Perhaps their involvement is implied, because of the cave drawings that point to the planet, which merely turns out to be a trap that will initiate the extinction of any race that will get too close to their achievements (implied in the film).

The names used are not accidental. Elizabeth means “God’s daughter”. David means beloved. Scott is given a name that does not have underlying meaning, perhaps because he does not really seek one. Peter Wayland only interested in the Creator only for the purpose of survival – avoiding inevitable death.

It’s not incidental that the only true survivor of the film is incidentally the one that has faith and deeper questions and relationships to explore.

I really don’t think that Prometheus is an attempt to discredit existence of God. It’s a metaphoric exploration into the nature of relationship between us and God. In the film, it exists on two levels. We have David – human creation that attempts to understand his purpose beyond initial programming. David attempts to understand and imitate his “gods” in a way that Elizabeth attempts to understand hers.

And we have the relationship between the Engineers and the crew of Prometheus, each of which has a personal agenda to explore. Some do it for money, the other do it because their daddy wants them to or programmed them to, some to merely validate their views, one for mere comfort of avoiding death, and only one does it to get answers to the questions. So, ultimately, the journey of Prometheus crew metaphorically portrays how people approach religion, or in this case a metaphorical re-connection with the divine. Very few care for the true answers outside of personal motives that revolve around comfort or duty. The survival of the beheaded robotic follower merely serves as a device to portray the disconnect between two levels of “why”. David does not understand why Elizabeth has to know, just like Elizabeth does not understand why Engineers slated the human kind for extinction.

David’s answer is “Sometimes you have to destroy in order to create”. Elizabeth can’t accept such robotic answer in terms of her view of God as a being of purpose.

The last dying word of Wayland are “There’s nothing”, which express the disappointment in terms of what one expects to get out of “divine”. Since David is a copy of Weyland’s intentions (his son), he replies in a similar manner – “I know, have a great Journey”. That scene IMO underlines one of the thematic premises in the film – if one does not approach the truth with an open mind, one essentially follows self-replication of meaningless nothingness.

I find it ironic, that the premise underlines the attitude with which the author of this article approaches the film and existence in general. If the film or existence does not match the preconceived views, then it would seem to the author that there’s nothing left to live for, because existence is then meaningless.

It’s not uncommon to see a degree of ignorance from fundamentalism community that only seeks the robotic copies of themselves. They don’t seek any deeper meaning that goes beyond their orthodox dogma. In that sense they are a robotic race that’s programmed to follow instead of asking questions. They attempt to understand, but their understanding can only follow in the lines of their programming.

I am a Biblically-based Christian and I believe this article is mostly spot-on. However there is one point in the movie Prometheus that is not addressed here which I would like to point out… and that is that the “Engineers” attempted to eliminate humanity 2000 years ago and up to the present. That is interesting, in light of the fact that Christ died just over 2000 years before the premise of this film occurs, which opened the door for mankind to be adopted as sons of God. I bet that the “Engineers” we see in Prometheus are actually those who rebelled against God and sought to eliminate mankind after Christ was born… out of jealousy, pride, or both. After all, pride must be a big motivator to fallen angelic beings. Why else would they promote themselves as gods to primitive know-nothing human beings?

On a side note, I bet that is the link to the first Alien film… in which the derelict Engineer spacecraft the Nostromo finds on LV426 is the ship that was originally sent to earth 2000 years ago to destroy humanity, but it failed. Also, all Christians on here need to be careful in believing that God doesn’t have “physical” forces on His side as well. After all, humanity and life on earth is flesh… and therefore must have been created physically somehow, not spiritually. Of course God has all control over matter/energy, but He also obeys His own laws. So how did physical beings come into existence? We just don’t know other than God “formed” man from the dust (non-spiritual) of the ground (earth). Just my two cents.

…. Also, something I forgot to mention is that Shaw, who is the only Christian believer and who doesn’t let go of her faith, is the one who survives and goes on to find the answer to her question. Christians indeed suffer, but perhaps Scott meant this as there is a higher power who guards God’s followers and permits them answers to their questions if they have faith. We will see. Fox has announced 2 sequels to Prometheus if the movie does well in theaters… which it has.

Now there are not many Pastors and Ministries that I endorse, but I do wholeheartedly endorse Pastor Mike Hoggard’s ministry, not just on this topic but in general. He believes in sound doctrine and Bible-based preaching. And he is also very much into end-time prophetic research and has made many startling Biblical discoveries I have not heard from any other ministries. God bless.

Just watched Prometheus. DIdn’t want to, as I am extremely sensitive to subliminal and dark energies, but I heard to do it from Holy Spirit for research. Yes, I do have prophetic abilities. I am a spiritual healer. Yes, biblical based, as in the Matthew 10 annointing. Not going to argue with anyone uneducated in this.

I was told, “they are revealing in this film what they are doing. Take notes.” It was hard. Tons of subliminals, I’m sure, not only in the film but all the ads and previews as well. ALL of the previews were also occult themes. Lots of transhumanistic agenda, DNA altering, etc. Felt disassociated and paranoid after. Felt better after I got home. Took tons of notes. Its all right out there in plain sight. We are in the season. Of that there is no doubt.

Anyone who doubts that the intentions of these filmmakers is purely evil is not in tune with the fact that we are in the season, as described in revelation. My advice is to turn off the TV, and avoid all movies. No, they are NOT “harmless entertainment.” Get into the Word like your life depends on it, cause it does. We are extolled to be like watchers for the signs that we are in the season. Stay awake. Peace.

The folks, both believer or not, whom promote violence do not know Jesus. Yes, there was, and still is a great deal of violence in the world. Today’s cultural acceptance of violence is unprecedented, movies, books, music, news, sports, games, politics, intolerance …. etc … everywhere! Yet believer and non believer still claim that humanity is a “peaceful” species? It is not! All of whom have been born of Adam & Eve inherently are of sin and thus sin, they have no choice otherwise.

Furthermore, anyone that knows the savoir at all knows he is peace. Jesus taught that if your enemy is hungry, feed him. If your enemy is thirsty, give him drink. If your enemy hates you, love him. Folks today that claim to know Jesus and carry signs that say God hates Fags are nothing more than attention seeking fools. When God starts hating humans? Do they even know God? NO!

God loves every human. All have sinned and fallen short, but God still loves us all. The only sin that will destroy you forever, is the sin of not accepting Jesus as your savior, that’s it. Nothing else matters. Once you accept and come to know Jesus all the foolishness of this world truly shows itself and is very easy to overcome and life begins to have true meeting. Yet pain and suffering will occur, but can be easily overcome through faith. Yes! Faith.

If anything at all, just get a hold of the New Testament and read the words in red. That will give the glimpse of whom Jesus was that may spark the greatest moment of your life. Salvation, Healing, Redemption.God Bless.

The oldest texts were actually written in Greek and Aramaic (the New Testament, anyway). The NT books of the Bible were written for many of that era to understand. Hebrew was used by the “elite” of the Isrealites and it was used on the Old Testament along with Aramaic.

No name in history has evoked such a response in mankind then the name of Jesus Christ. It must be an important name. Probably because they fear the judgement.

I did go see this movie, and this was my perspective of it. I think Ridley Scott was very much putting an emphasis on his views of life, which are neither evolutionary nor creationist, but rather Exogenesis, a belief system in which alien(s) seeded life on this planet.

This movie is a loose prequel to his prior work (Alien). The so-called Engineers were not alien at all, but were shown to have human DNA; bringing to question who they really are and why they ended up where they were, on a planet light years away from Earth

Everything about these Engineers for whatever reason seem to correlate with the Nephalim, a race of giants brought forth by a union of fallen angels and human women that existed before and after the Flood. These Engineers certainly did not show their benevolence towards humans in any way, showing instead to be hostile, no different in the past as to what the Nephalim were described as.

These movies in many regards have been shown to be based on the darkness, violence , and demonic oppression of human beings. These aliens violate humans in the worst way in efforts to procreate and give birth to their offspring.

Is there a correlation between these movies and what is going on in the world today? Only that without a saving relationship Jesus Christ, a human being does not have any chance of surviving what is going to come. Demonic oppression (whether by Satan and his minions (fallen angels/demons) Nephalim, and human beings who deliberately turn to serve evil)

You do not know your Bible as well as you might. Satan and demons can and do masquerade as angels of light. The spirit realm super-cedes and dominates the physical realm. Open your eyes or go back to sleep.

    Genesis 6

When MEN began to increase in number on the
earth and daughters were born to them, 2 the SONS OF GOD saw that the DAUGHTERS OF MEN were beautiful, and
they married any of them they chose. 3 Then the LORD
said, “My Spirit will not contend with MAN forever, for
HE IS MORTAL ; his days will be a hundred and twenty
    years.”
4 The NEPHILIM were on the earth in those days—
and also afterward—WHEN THE SONS OF GOD WENT TO THE DAUGHTERS OF MEN AND HAD CHILDREN BY THEM. They were
the heroes of old, MEN of renown.

The Nephilim were MEN as stated above. Not Aliens, not demons But MORTAL human beings.

Genesis 6:5 “The LORD saw how great MAN’S wickedness on the
earth had become, and that every inclination of the
thoughts of HIS heart was only evil all the time.”

    God wanted to destroy MEN.

In Genesis God named the full extent of His creation – evidently seen to this day to the naked eye. The earth, animals, fish, plants and humans.
He also mentioned Satan in the Old Testament and Angels.

Every other thing He fully explained including that Nephilim and Giants etc. were MEN.

So quoting that there are Aliens and God’s is a complete fabrication and lie.

Its not even a misinterpretation. Its a lie because the Bible clearly does not say that at all.

God created MAN to have sexual relations with women. Angels and Demonic Spirits cannot do this.

    Matthew 22:30 “At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage;
they will be like the angels in heaven.”

We will be like Angels in Heaven unable to marry – because marriage is consolidated by sexual intercourse hence the 2 becoming 1.

God was referring to the wickedness of man and the fall of Cain who had offspring who were ungodly and did not worship God. Sleeping around with any woman and not marrying.

Until they began to call upon the Lord again:

Genesis 4:25 Adam lay with his wife again, and she gave birth to
a son and named him Seth, f saying, “God has granted
me another child in place of Abel, since Cain killed
him.” 26 eth also had a son, and he named him Enosh.
At that time men began to call on the name of the
    LORD.”

Please. This belief is a practise of Witchcraft. Even devils know that they can’t have sex with humans so why would a human want to believe this nonsense?

    Thanks

    Kind Regards

      Noble is 100% correct.

The Sons of God are indeed referring to the Godly line of Seth and the Daughters of Men are indeed referring to the Ungodly line of Cain.

Any belief contrary to this would be tantamount to contradicting the Bible – which is EXACTLY what the movie Prometheus does.

                Hi Noble,

Thanks again for responding. I will try to address your most recent comment:

“QUOTE “All I have seen so far is a reference to the days of ENOS and during his time is when men began calling on God. Nowhere do I see any Scripture that says that Seth or Seth’s children were the “sons of God.” You are reading that into the text. You and I are going to remain a a variance on this issue because we have different ways of interpreting the Bible. I absolutely agree that we need the Holy Spirit to understand Scripture. no question. Bu the Bible also tells how to go about using that discernment:

12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. 13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. – 1 Corinthians 2.

What we have as Christians today that is spiritual is The Word of God. We are to read it and understand by the Holy Spirit’s power and comparing Scripture (spirit) with Scripture (spirit). And every usage of b’nai ha elohim in Scripture is to angels. When we look in Job we do not have to guess, intuit or make any assumptions about who they are. They are undoubtedly angels. And we see this twice in the first two chapters. Not to mention we know that the offspring of the b’nai ha elohim in Genesis 6 were giants. Why would Seth’s children be giants? If these men were supposedly so godly that they receive this special title, why would they go an marry pagan, evil, satanic women? None of it makes sense or adds up. It all required putting ideas into Scripture that are not stated nor are supported by other uses of the exact same phrase.

So thanks for taking the time to explain your interpretation but I will respectfully agree to disagree.

The New Testament was written in Greek and the Old Testament was written in Hebrew. So for linguistic comparisons we can’t really look at the words in both that way.

However in Luke 3:38 we read:

38 Which was the son of Enos, which was the son of Seth, which was the son of Adam, which was the son of God.

Adam was the son of God in this verse, not Seth. It is very clear in this verse that Seth is the son of Adam.

I thought you wanted to see where the scripture proves that Seth was a Son of God? If you do not understand that Seth was as was Adam’s lineage (Cain is not mentioned) then you are looking for something which is not substantial. Thank you for your writings. They are very informed. I agree 100% with the idea that the entire alien ‘movement’ is a huge deception by Satan.

Think about it, would it make sense for Satan to masquerade on earth as evil Satan, himself? A long with his scary demons, etc. Would he win over many souls? Probably not. There may be a few satan worshipers, however Satan would NOT achieve mass support.

So, what is the next wise move for him to do since we all know his biggest strength is deception? Instead, he presents himself and his demons as Aliens from another world. Its perfect cover for Satan. There are so many humans that are ‘on the fence’ when it comes to faith and religion. Many people who reject religion and its tradition. And, plenty of people who are, say Christian belivers or Catholics, etc. who would be willing to believe in the idea of aliens. As if aliens are a completely separate element in this world (that may not necessarily contradict their specific faith religious beliefs), therefore could potentially accept that aliens exist, OR at least be mystified so much that they are distracted.
I must admit, the Alien idea has always intrigued me. I have found myself researching it online, looking for real photos or videos of unexplained UFO activity, OR reading accounts of alien visitations. Aliens catch our attention and make us wonder. But, that is exactly Satan’s purpose by deceiving us pulling attention AWAY from the true Lord God, our Creator. The alien theory has not necessarily connected or linked itself with ‘evil’, darkness, or demons. But, instead brings to it many curious humans intrigued by its possibility of being real. Especially when you factor in thousands of eyewitness accounts of UFOs, lots of videos and photos showing unexplained happenings.
    I once watched a documentary many years ago, which led me to believe and agree with the fact that Satan has created the entire alien theory as the perfect way to deceive more humans than ever before. At the very least, Satan is using ‘aliens’ to draw people away form God and Heaven and eternal life by accepting Jesus Christ’s real purpose. The satanic bible (Lord forbid I even mention it on here :)) I once read some paragraphs of it while doing research and educating myself (NOT bc I believed it), but the common theme in the Satanic Bible is Satan’s main ability to deceive mankind. And, the timeline of the satanic bible ironically correlates with Biblical timeline and events. The Satanic Bible is written through the eyes of Satan with exact timeline of events as depicted in the Bible (for the most part). It talks specifically and boasts about Satans trickery throughout times, for example the entire Greek mythology that evolved and is heavily documented today,…was all masterfull trickery by Satan instead of satan proclaiming himself as ‘Satan’ and evil. It distracted people of those times, by worshipping greek god, instead of the real true Lord God. And Satan has continued this massive deception of the masses today with use of alien theories and beliefs. And, humans who have actually had alien experiences, supposed abductions, video tapped UFO sightings, flying suacers,…I truely believe they indeed saw what they saw. It wasnt hallucinations. God says that Satan does have powers and authority on earth (as a warning to us), therefore even God admits that Satan could easily make lights appear in the sky, design ‘grays’ as aliens with all kinds of hype and mystery about them. Deceived people into believing they were abducted by aliens when in fact they were visited by demons, possession etc.;

Bottom line is that the “Devil comes to steal, kill & destory”…most humans regardless of religion upbringing or faith accept this to be true. They believe Satan and demons are real, and very evil, dark, deathly, painful, brings fear etc. But, when you look at this world through secular ‘eyes’ based on media accounts, eyewitnesses, photos, etc… do you automatically think of Aliens as evil, dark, deathly, destructive?? NOPE. In general, Aliens are NOT presented to us in this evil way. Not that they are proven to be good and bring good hope to people, But it is in between that level of cognition that the Devil slips in while your ‘door is cracked’ to the potential belief or mystery of aliens.

What I got most out of this article from B&E, and what is most concerning,…is what is to come. The devil is so deceptive and is planning a last ditch effort to take over the earth and bring as many humans souls with him to hell as he possiblity can. However, we wont see Satan himself leading any cause with 666 tatooed on his forehead. it wont be clear to us, and that is what scares me, because I know the time this comes many friends, family colleagues are going to jump onboard some deceptive charasmatic leaders hype to save the world. This will seem as true hope. Similar example is Hitler himself, who was proven to be highly into the Occult,. What about those normal German people who early on began accepting Hitlers rhetoric, Hitlers ideals, Hitlers message. And continued to follow and support Hitler (most German civilians) for many, many years despite fact that their jewish neighbor was confiscated right out of their home and taken away never to be seen again. Point is: early on Hitler deceived them and tricked them into supporting his ’cause’ 100%….brainwashing the mass German population over time. After all, it was about country commraderie, national pride and superiority,….why wouldnt a German jump on board that train? Well, they would and they all did…..just like in the U.S. we all would highly support an American cause of pride, etc. Hitler was genius at deception for decades…probably received direct help from demonic forces whom he welcomed in the form of occult faith. Some people think that there may be several ‘anti-christs’ throughout time and Hitler was one of them, but with still 1 last final anti-christ to come. But, its hard to imagine a third anti-christ in modern time being worse than Hitler and what he did.

What I am realizing is that we all must ‘sharpen our sword’ of knowledge and discernment. Satan is so very deceptive and good at it, that it will be challenging for many humans, even Christians and evangelicals to ‘spot’ his latest mass deception (with some kind of purported anti0christ involved under disguise). The best way for us to prepare, in my opinion, is accept God’s Holy Spirit as just as important as your personal relationship with Christ is. Seek the Holy Spirit, pray to the Holy Spirit as One with God, stand strong on God’s promises in His Word pertaining to the power of the Holy Spirit.

It astounds me how very many people there are who believe in ghosts, watch countless reality TV shows where teams are seeking out ‘ghosts’, documenting ghost activities, etc.. (which is an entirely different world wide DECEPTION by Satan, since many ghosts are presented to us by media, etc. as being harmless, or just trapped between Heaven and Hell for the time-being. When in fact, there is no middle—ghosts are demons, Period. Because when a human dies, his soul goes to heaven or hell. The days of purgatory are OVER and ended early on in the Old Testament.) Im off track, but point is that if ghosts are so easily believed in by general population,…then you and I and people we come in contact with day to day, year to year,…should easily be able to believe and put faith in the real Holy Spirit.

I apologize, I am way long-winded in my typing of emails.
